I'm getting EX in Feb, when it's out in English since I want my story mode :P I live 5 hours away from Toronto though, plus I have no means (cash/car) of getting there I was hoping that I can kind of practice for EX with Tao in CS2 since they seem similar? If that's not the case, maybe I shouldn't then =\

Oh. I've heard those names, but I've never seen any matches of those guys.
-
Ah that sucks :\ Thanks for letting me know though, I've been at it for 2 hours >__> Ok, I'll try the combos here then. I guess I'm gonna need a lot of matchup experience to learn how to play her neutral game properly. Maybe I'll work on that right after I've learned that j8D-A loop you mentioned.

Just added you :P I wish I thought of having matching names, that's actually pretty sweet! Yeah man, learn as many languages as you can, it'll come in handy! -
Hello all, I just started learning Tao last night and I wasn't sure if this was a good place to ask but I'm having slight trouble with challenge mode. I'm at 7, but my concern is that I can't do 6 "properly". I have to add a jB after jC > jC so that the 3rd jC will connect and I can Cat Spirit Two. My concern is that if I can't do it the "right" way, then I won't be able to do all the combos listed here correctly. I'm honestly not sure what I'm doing wrong, since it looks like I'm doing exactly what the demo did. My 3rd jC always ends up too high to hit Bang; I jump right over him. Did any of you have this trouble when you tried this challenge? Are the challenge combos worth learning or should I just try doing what's listed in this thread?

Is it Ryuusei you're talking about? I don't know many players, but I always remember him.

Awesome! Can I add you? Also, do you happen to speak French? Just curious, I like your PSN name, btw :P -
Do you mean RPGs? I liked Persona 3 and 4, if you wanna stick to a SMT vibe? I don't know what consoles you want recommendations for lol. Also, if you really think you need to stay on topic, you can use the Carl General Discussion, it's pretty much an anything-goes thread.

Oh Carl, y u not eastern Ontario? What timezone is NJ Sodelic? I want more Carl's on my friends list :P That said, I'm not online that often because of schoolwork. Wait, do you have a PS3? -
I thought you guys already had an online directory but nothing came of it? That's what you guys told me when I joined...

I dunno if you read my post incorrectly, but I'll go with the assumption that you were talking about when Valk is being cornered, since that's what I was talking about. I went to the Valk boards for advice when I started subbing him. Valk is awful when he's stuck in the corner. You're pretty much waiting for your opponent to screw up so you can jump out or burst safely. He's very much like Arakune in that regard. And he's cool. Meets all the requirements for my mains/subs: - Fancy Clothes - Polite/Regal in demeanor - Not fanservice-y Anyways, I still find Carl the most fun, so I don't play him that often. I'll probably only alternate between Relius and Carl when I get CSX. Still think Rachel is cool too, but she's not as entertaining for me.
-
90% of the reason why I don't play well with him. I don't actively try to reset or loop, I just do whatever is fun. Been trying out Valk lately. I like him, but when you play people that don't have matchup experience, it's boring since he does so much damage. He can't do anything if he's cornered though, so that sucks.

Whoa, wait. He seems to be playing chess with Relius? I thought he was supposed to be cold and distant... Good to see Ada's cheerful. Though, even though the picture is centering on Ada, it just makes me more interested in Relius.. He seemed to be at least kind of evil before Carl was born (pre-Black Beast), so what made him good (or at least temporarily)? If it was Ignis, then what made him turn her and Ada in puppets? -
Which part of the forum are you talking about? I take it you mean the video thread? You can just check AutonomousR's channel for the actual updates. Still, he doesn't repost the matches that quickly, so just subscribe to Jourdal and/or Pktazn on YT.

[CSE] Relius Clover General Discussion "Family Man Extraordinaire"

Pretentious how? Also, learning a language is never a waste. FYI, learning French would make learning Spanish and Italian A LOT easier. It works vice versa as well. -
I remember somebody mentioning that they wanted 3C to be a fatal (Akira??) and ever since then, I've been using it a lot more...I guess I feel like if I keep using it, it'll turn into one ;__;

I agree, though I suck in Carl mirrors, I usually get the other Ada killed, but I get crossed up so easily with IAD>j2C allecan that all that effort goes to waste lol. I find Carl a lot easier to with when I'm Rachel, I just fly away :P -

Rishtopher replied to Rishtopher's topic in Archive
I always get people who burst the second they get sandwiched, even if they haven't fought many Carl's (usually they tell me that if they lose), I think because they don't know what I'm gonna do lol -
I get Anima starters like every other match lol. Granted, I play online, so maybe people are just free to that there. Also, n00b question, but I'm a huge scrub: What should I be doing to get out of rushdown character's pressure? I mean like Ragna, Jin, Litchi or Rachel, specifically. They're the ones I have the most trouble with. Especially Rachel with those jA overheads. Maybe a better question is how to avoid getting deep into pressure in the first place. I can't seem to space Ada in a position where I can get my opponent to get close enough to get sandwiched, or that I can punish them for trying to attack her. They can all air dash over Ada if my timing's off. One more question, I was playing some Lambda's the other night, is there no way to punish her 236C if you barrier? She's always way to far and then I get punished for trying to punish >__>

Might give that Carl vs UNL Carl a try one day, that actually sounds kind of cool. Though, does anyone even use the UNL characters? I only use UNL Nu /Bang to troll -

Ok guys, so I was on PSN today and I played a couple of mirrors against some Carls that were pretty out of my league (psychoCidel and DJFoodstamp), how do you guys feel about mirrors? I feel like either I learn something (playing psycho was educational) or I just get trolled (DJ trolled me pretty hard). I usually hate them since I get trolled more often than I learn something, or sometimes it's just not as epic as I thought since we're not taking each other seriously :/ Long story short, I need to step up my game cuz my Carl really sucks :X Also, I JUST noticed that Ada had a crack on the side of her face, I always thought it was a segmentation of her mask ("face" I guess??) until I actually looked at it lol. -

lol that's a low blow Edit: sigged -
Oh man, I throw SO often lol. It's always purple though, which I know isn't a good tactic. Speaking of throws, this is something I don't quite understand: If someone jabs me a bunch and then grabs, I tend to get a throw reject miss. I know that they're jabbing me to cause that, but I don't get why it happens. I don't mash out of throws or anything, so why does this happen? lol well I meant something other than the 3D loop since I don't like using it, but I like your other suggestions, so thank you :P I'll have to practice that 4D combo since whenever I have heat, volante turns into fermata
-
OK guys, I was playing online for the first time in a couple of weeks and I realized that I have NO IDEA what to do when I have my opponent in the corner. First of all, what kind of blockstrings/combos should I be using? I always end up doing jB>66>jC>2B>5B>6B>2D>[air combo]>Brio>2C>8D>jC>3D if I have no heat, OR jB>66>jC>2B>5B>6B>2D>[air combo]>Brio>2C>Fermata>Canata if I do. What's an optimal combo for when I don't have heat and what other blockstrings can I use in the corner to mixup my opponent? I tend to use j2C allecan in the corner even though it doesn't mixup anyone. I think it's force of habit from me trying to learn how to do it correctly =\
