Ah ok, if they still work then that's fine, I just wasn't sure if they'd have to be tweaked or something? Like for example, in some of the combos, Carl does jC and continues to air combo, but in CS2 it knocks down, so it looks like some of the moves would need to be changed/reordered, right? Yeah, my execution is the problem. Or I guess the bigger problem is that I just hate practicing because I get bored of it really quickly. I like to practice new stuff in actual matches with people but I don't have a lot of time to play because of schoolwork/actual work. When I finally get a chance, it's been weeks and I'm really out of practice (again) and I basically have to start whatever I was trying to learn over from scratch. One of the most difficult things in learning Carl for me was timing. Basically, it really helps if I can see what the combo is supposed to look like so that I know what the timing is and it'll be easier for me to learn/memorize. Sure, I can visualize what moves I'm supposed to be doing when I read the combo, but for me, it's really not at all the same as seeing it. I guess a good way to put it would be like looking at sheet music before trying to play a new song and trying to imagine what the notes sound like in your head, versus actually hearing the song play as you read the music. It's just better.

Well like, I've done Carl's challenges, but I can't always do them. It's more like, I can do them in training mode, but not in a match. I choke really often. I noticed those are CS1 combos, will most still work in CS2? Or do any of the Carls in the forum have matches of themselves that I can study? :P

So I decided to officially endeavor to be a not-so-scrubby Carl, but these combos look pretty daunting to just try out. Is there a video of these anywhere so that I can kind of follow along?

Yeah I'm pretty sure I did. I'll try and track it down for you for reference. I know it's on Jourdal's channel it was Shadow vs Jin, so I should be able to find it. I'll update this post with the vid. EDIT: Looks like I was mistaken, sorry to let you down Toasty What I actually saw was that setup used in for crossups in the corner, he uses it again in that vid at about 8:45 and pretty much every match lol. The other times, he's able to confirm the air attack into an unblockable crossup.

Just wanna make sure, are you talking about this part? I've seen Shadow use it a lot in the corner in a match versus Jin. It's a really scary setup for the opponent.

Have you ever been to the Carl boards? We complain 24/7, you cannot satisfy us lol. I actually think Tsubaki is pretty hype in CSX. Although to be fair, I JUST started trying to learn her so it's not like I can tell if she's better/worse. From what I've seen, she looks fine to me though.

This hurts >__< I hate how Relius' astral is so good! The rest of the cast *coughCarlcough* should get an astral update! Also, out of the three you mentioned, Carl's is the worst IMO. Speaking of Carl's astral, I wonder how long Ignis' guardpoint lasts since you can get Rachel's and Carl's to clash if you spaced right, but Rachel loses at point blank range. I doubt it goes as long as Rachel's astral though.

I think my favourite themes in the game are Carl's, then Arakune's, then Weak Executioner/Nightmare Fiction and UNL Ragna/Haz themes. I think Carl's is the best overall, personally :P Awesome to see more people coming out and joining the conversation lol. And yes, I love the anime but I heard from fans of the manga that it's awful, I started reading it the other day :P Honestly I believe that Ada did in fact cooperate willingly knowing full well what the risks/results were/could be. Just a gut feeling I guess, I don't have much to go on here lol. I'm hoping there's some cool reason for why she did it. If Ada feels the same way about Carl that he does for her, maybe she thought it would enable her to keep him safe through what's to come like how Osmond mentioned? I'm starting to find that that explanation is becoming a lot more plausible as I think about it. It would permit Ada's soul to watch over Carl, but because her soul is in Nirvana, she'd be bound to the operating rules of a Nox. Namely mental side effects for the user. That would also tie in with what Hakumen had said about it moving with the user's killing intent (in this case, feelings for revenge). Judging from Nirvana's slouching posture and sluggish movement, I feel like Carl's bloodlust isn't strong enough to get her moving at full capacity which could be attributed to his good nature. Ada being in there could permit her to move without Carl's instruction for small amounts of time. None of this is confirmed or anything, I this is just the impression I get, what do you guys think? I'm hoping CSX has enough Relius/Carl story to shed light on the Ada-->Nirvana transformation. Also does anyone else remember Haz being surprised that Carl called Nirvana his sister? I can't remember it clearly, but I find it odd that Haz would be surprised, I thought he knew about everyone's past? Or maybe he'd seen the situation as Ada basically being dead when she was used in the transformation? I just find it odd that he wouldn't know seeing as how he knows everything. lool actually yeah, I can see that pretty easily now that you mention it.

I personally always believed that despite what everyone was thinking, Ada/Nirvana wasn't controlling him and it only appeared to be that way to those not in the know. I mean, for one, no one else knows that it's Ada in there, plus it's a Nox right? So of course they think he's crazy. She showed her side when she interacted with Valk in CT's story and based on the dialogue, it was implied that Valk understood what she's saying or at least what she wants to convey to him. The thing is, it seems that he's talking to Nirvana and not Ada. Also Nirvana told Litchi how to find Tager when he got to Kagutsuchi, so doesn't seem like she only cares for Carl. To me, this is more evidence that they're cooperating with each other. I like the way you think of it as her controlling him to keep him out of harm's way, though, that never crossed my mind o.o Yeah, I don't really get the X-MATIC thing but admittedly, I kinda like it now. Before it looked stupid but now it looks cool since it reminds me xxxHOLiC (Yes, I know, lame reason lol). I'm actually really surprised we don't even get a small Phantom of the Opera reference, his outfit kind of demands it :\ Also I hate Relius' theme name even more, Plastic Night sounds dumb :| Also do you recommend that anime in the vid? Also like you said, his CA is really crappy =\ And speaking of CA, I hear that it reduces your primers (in CSX), but in the vids I've seen, that doesn't always happen. So what cause the actual primer reduction when you use it?

I thought the same thing, I guess people are shyer than I thought?? (Sadly) I don't think that CSX is going to extend the story very much, if at all :\ I heard from other people on DL that Mori is apparently adding like one extra scene in the True Ending at the very end, but I hope it's more than that or I'll be pretty miffed. I'm buying it mostly for the story after all lol. As for the plot twist you're suggesting, I can see that happening. I think we've had enough demonstrations of Nirvana having Ada's soul (if any). I'm more intrigued about Ignis. I wouldn't doubt that she'd stop obeying Relius before actually killing Carl, but I don't think Carl would get the chance to control both puppets :P It'll probably be one of those last ditch efforts where Ignis stops Relius by pushing him off a cliff or doing something that could actually kill him (he's like pretty much immortal so far lol). About the Relis x Carl theme.. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...I don't dislike it. It's just that it's not that great. The more I listen to it, the more I can tolerate it, but I don't think the mood is right either. I wanted my damn opera in it D:< It generally just feels too slow. The acoustic guitar was nice, but it made me doubletake since I thought it would have more of a vengeance feel to it. I think I've said this before, but I actually thought it was the Jin vs Tsubaki theme the first time I heard it =\ I was way more impressed with Relius' theme, but no opera again leaves me pretty annoyed. I feel like I'm missing out on something that was amazing! I wish I could've heard what was playing at the loketests Random thought: Now that Relius has a Carl palette, I want Carl to have a Relius palette. I think that would look awesome. Also, on topic: I saw some recent Carl footage and 2D looks absolutely fine. Last time I'll bring that up, I promise lol.
