$4.99? Wow, thank you based ATLUS. 2 characters free for the first week for everyone and a 3rd at about half of what the their partner in this project normally charges? See, this is how DLC is handled proper. A little disappointed that I can't play Margaret the same week as when the game launches but whatever, it's only a week-more worth of wait and in the meantime I can enjoy the 2 free characters I get. Fun times ahead.

On the bright side, it seems using the color will give BBCP veterans PTSD once they're reminded of vanilla Kokonoe so you might be up for some easy wins. Just a little bit longer and she'll be out. Then we'll see how she plays and if she's every bit as scary as she should be.

For the English trailers? Yes. The Japanese ones had a small snippet of a combo at the end where they activated Shadow Rampage/Frenzy. Personally, I think they just thought Shadow Mitsuru's Mabufudyne>Myriad Arrows combo was just too good not to show in its entirety so they used it.

English trailers for: Teddie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQfqfrrxtpk Mitsuru: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xKWNwYpEY8 Elizabeth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6juDHz5kn6A Curiously, there's a link (on the Mitsuru trailer) for a Margaret video but it is private. We're little more than a week away from the NA release. Git hype?

As do I. It frakking sucks that one of the best looking SP skills is hardly worth ever using. The go-to supers for Lizzie seem to be Mind Charge (most of the time) and Mahamaon (the few times when you CAN kill the opponent in a combo). I wouldn't mind it so much if the other instant death skill, Mumudoon wasn't a complete and utter waste of a slot. Please don't give ASW ideas. I am holding out for a tiny microbe of hope that when they patch the console characters into the arcade version, they might also do a balance re-adjustment and make her finally good (not top-tie, just good).

In CP1.1, Scud Punishment does 1482 (1950 with OD) and as others pointed out, it no longer staggers. However, the version used was only the normal, non-OD one so it's properties might change up a bit in OD. IMO, the damage lost is negligible since I don't think any Azrael player ever used it for its damage. You use it for the automatic 2 weaknesses and the status buff. The stagger lost hurts more but then again with the wall-bounce and better utility as a reversal (others pointed out it is much faster), there might be more potential in there. Couldn't rightly tell ya. It was used to hit the Ragna all of thrice. The first time it hit him in the air (it was blocked). The second time it hit him when crouching (no counter hit). The thrid time was much the same as it hit Ragna when Azrael recovered from the aerial axe kick follow up. None of those times it was used as a DP/reversal. Whether it does retain its invulnerability frames or no is not going to be answered from this video. IMO, Azrael is so far very much the same. His mid-screen stuff suffers due to TCL no longer having wall-bounce anywhere (plus no oki like natearistata said) and I did not see the player use the 2C combos either (those would need to be explored). However his corner damage with weaknesses is still explosive and as other pointed out in his section, Gustav now staggers on hit (thanks guys). Hot Potato Growler looks surprisingly dangerous since at best it will punish careless projectile tosses or force the opponent to think twice about using them at worst, neither of which is really detrimental to the walking mass of muscle. 6B is also better and has more use besides the occasional surprise anti-air. Still this is all personal opinions and impressions on my part. I could be entirely wrong but from what was shown here, Azrael still appears to be good. Thank you.

How about the whole "No more BBCP DLC characters" then a week later: Kokonoe DLC character confirm? The man is so full of it that placing a perma-banner around his image saying "Don't believe his lies" would not be an unreasonable course of action. Invulnerability frames I guess. Range was not an issue since the Ragna was caught point blank. But it safely got Azrael out of corner pressure on at least 2 occasions in that video. I don't recall many people using it as a reversal in prior versions (usually it was comboed into from things like the back throw or from the Valiant Charger stuff in the corner). Least that's my personal observation since I rarely, if ever, see people using Scud Punishment raw.

There is a recurring claim I see tossed around that Score Attack Lizzie should actually be her normal version. While I don't think the whole package is necessary, I thought that a scaled down version would be plenty. A damage adjustment, health decrease (let's say 11,000 just to make things really outta whack for Kanji and Akihiko) and ailment immunity removal would likely be enough. Of course, that's just empty wishing and will never happen. Well shit, guess I got my answer (even if it is one that bears bad news). Chalk another move better left out of the movepool it seems. Wait, since when was Mabufudyne (214A/B) used for oki? I thought Maziodyne (236B) and Maraidyne (214D) were used for that, even if both moves are pretty weak for it?
-
On the plus side, if the video was any indication, Scud Punishment seems much more useful now as a reversal (probably to compensate for Growler Field becoming less like one in utility). And perhaps this was just my imagination, but it seems like the Scud Punishment state lasts longer this time. Guess we will see when the game hits the arcades in October. Mori claimed Kagura should be easy for beginners too at some point. I think the man need to look up the definition of "beginner-friendly" because I don't think it means what he thinks it does. As a personal rule of thumb, I take any claim he makes with a copious amount of salt. He did say "People need to understand that I am a liar" after all.

So some things I noticed with Azrael (don't know Ragna enough to provide any input, sorry): -TCL really does only wall-stick when close to the corner. Otherwise it causes the opponent to slide away. -6B seems like it can be cancelled by more than just forward dashes. I saw it jump cancelled (on hit) and normal cancelled into 6C (on whiff). -Damage looks somewhat lower but kinda hard to tell. Might just be the combo routes taken. EDIT: Yeah damage is lower but negligible (we're talking like 100~150 damage lost from the current version). Ragna's damage is lowered as well so I guess this it more just a general thing with all the characters and not just these 2. -Either the distance was too large or the player did it too late but BHS did not connect from 6A (wall-bounce). -Similar to the above but Throw>6A (corner wall-bounce)>air dash j.C did not connect. Probably could with an RC on 6A. -Scud Punishment now wall-bounces. Damage lowered to 1299 (normal, non-OD version). -Growler Field still can "hit" the opponent (Ragna blocks it in the air) and later when it does hit proper, it still sends them flying but not as far as CP1.1. "Hot potato" Growler is pretty good though, especially if you catch Ragnas dash-cancelling their (caught) Dead Spikes. -Not strictly Azrael-related but when 6B and Belial Edge clashed the words "DEBCG Sousai Gravity" appeared. No clue what the heck that means however. That's about all. I'm sure someone much more attentive and knowledgeable can provide more info than I.

Alright so I was messing around in P4A Score Attack (finally beating it for the first damn time, good grief) with Lizzie and during the Kanji match, somehow I went from 5C>2C into (B)Diarahan (I know because I was attempting 214B but somehow did a double 214214 motion). It actually saved my ass from the brink of defeat there. So I got to wondering: why aren't players using Diarahan? You'd think that after shaving off such a massive portion of health you'd want to be able to stay in Awakening long enough to make it count. But I virtually never see anybody attempt it. Even (SB)Diarahan which has projectile-invulnerability never sees play. So why is that? Far too costly a meter which we need damage for or is there simply no safe method to use it?

Cool beans. Celica looks fun, but then again I had an interest in her since the beginning. Which I admit is a first for me since I generally have no desire to play any "overly cutesy" characters (my hatred of Platinum should be more than enough indication) but I'm willing to let it slide here. I only wish they showed the Crush Trigger animation for her. That was the only thing I felt was missing from the showcase.

I like what I see though. El is kinda cool I guess. Her win animation is both long and funny (it also explains why she needs big boobs; it's to hide the massive marriage certificate). This is certain a great way to start my mornings. Thanks guys. -
Very nice. Say what you will about BB as a whole, but the soundtrack always gets me in the mood to play or punch an angry grizzly bear square in the jaw. And you're talking about track that starts at the 0:35 mark? Yeah, I'm pretty certain that it's new.

On the subject of adding more characters, I honestly don't know where I stand. On the one hand, more characters adds diversity and it's especially fun when they add the one character you were hoping for. Look no further than Kokonoe in that regard. Gamebreaker though she was in CP1.0, she nonetheless saw so much hype back when she was announced, this whole forum was blazing with activity. But on the other hand, I do understand that with more and more characters, it gets harder and harder to achieve good balance. I am currently forced to switch mains in P4AU from Lizzie to most likely Margaret not because I like the latter more (well in some aspects I do), but because I'm going to have less of a headache fighting people as her rather than with Lizzie. All because the balance in the game dictated that my favorite character has to suck. However, this seems to only apply to that game as for BBCP I no longer have a steady main. I ditched Haku-men for Terumi during the initial weeks only to go play Azrael later and come CP2.0, I'll likely be making the switch to Celica or something (unless I hit some kind of epiphany with Azrael), so in that regard I am excited. I suppose the point that I am trying laboriously to get to is that there is no real reason why adding more characters to the roster is a bad thing in and of itself. Used properly, you can have a character for virtually anybody. Used incorrectly though (adding characters just for the sake of adding someone new) and you're just asking to strap the balance to an anvil and drop it from the top of the Empire State building.

Nice sketch of Alpha. Liking what I see at least. You can also notice the obvious influence from the other Murakumo units we've seen up to now (plus Ragna). The hair, face and headgear are all very similar to Mu-12. Upper body portion of the suit is from Nu-13 (the lower portion is more akin to Mu-12) while the thruster(s) remind me more of Izayoi. Still it does have some unique aspects to it. For one, the horn on the headgear is not shared by any other Murakumo and the armored legs are different from the standard fare. Alpha also forgoes the smaller funnels in favor of 2 big Blood Scythe blades (evoking Ramlethal in the process). Finally we have the Black Beast Arm itself. I really do like this design though. I can't exactly explain it, but I guess the chimera-like "aspect" of it just clicks with me. -
Just a small correction but the 2C buff adds 50% to the next physical attack from Thanatos (5C, Ghastly Wail, Mabufudyne). But it is true that with it 5C also floats on hit.

Can't tell you to the latter but I can tell you that "Fahrvergnügen" used to be an advertising slogan by Volkswagen some years ago. It means "driving enjoyment". But your guess is as good as mine as what it could actually mean in regards to Xrd. That stick however...I love it. I WANT IT. What are the chances of that thing being available to the North American market? Nonexistent? -
I dunno why, but when I saw the way Mars Chopper worked, my first instinct was to go for Rapid Cancel >2B>stuff. It just seemed like the most obvious course of action and it reminded me of her glory days back in BBCSII. Time will tell I guess. Should that really surprise you? ASW giveth, but if you get too comfortable, then ASW will not only taketh away but will also rob you blind. Or maybe they write a bunch of patch ideas and pull them out of a replica of Carl's hat while drunk then just roll with whatever they got...

It could be the case that since Hazama's health was near full which does mean the OD only lasts for a very short time. It might have lasted longer if he was on the lowers scale of his health but I will grant you that ODR does seem like it lasts even less than an OD cancel.

Early October is it? Neato. I can look forward to Celica sooner rather than later. I must confess, I have not touched CP much in the recent months due to the anticipation from P4AU and work so here's hoping 2.0 revitalizes the spark a bit. Actually, provided they don't sneak in another loketest in the meantime, do you think they would go down this route? -Loketest (already done). -Arcade release in October. -ASW announces additional character(s). -Loketest of said character(s) in November. -Game patched for December in time for the holidays. Too much wishful thinking?
-
I'd be careful about that last one. Time and again has proven that when it comes to making money, companies will do anything to get your big bucks now rather than smaller quantities over time. And honestly, I am more inclined to believe we have another BB Extend on our hands since they're adding in characters this time and I doubt ASW is gonna fork them over for free. Of course, if they are going the Extend route, I would need them to add a bunch more content than just Celica and dear Lamb-chops. And fix the damn issues with audio, grammar etc. The volume spikes are just plain insulting at times. Certainly though, nothing is set in stone. But I wouldn't place my faith on ASW too much. Just my 2 cents really.

Huh, didn't know that. The first image is positioned so much like a Dust attack I just mistook it for one. Thanks for the clarification. -

Did...did I just see El use a 3-tier wedding cake for her Dust attack on Sol? And apparently she later splits it down the middle during another attack? Alright, if she does not make my teeth rot from all the sugary imagery, I think I'll enjoy playing as her. At least it broadens my options since the only other character I was interested in before was Ramlethal. -

Let's face it, people don't need much of a reason to gravitate towards a given character, especially when they're a busty lady. I remember the days when Makoto was first announced and people immediately went "UNDERBOOB! 10/10 will main!" or when Mu-12 showed up and they all went "DAT ASS" (though to be fair, the trophy you got for selecting her in BBCS did not help). I just accept that it happens and act accordingly. That said, I would like to see just how "FPS-like" her gameplan is. I suck at those but am still interested in seeing how she'll fight.
