  1. Holy shit, Ragna's hair actually loses the spikes when wet? I thought his hair was some kind of super secret Ars Magus that existed outside our perceptions of reality since it defied all laws of nature and physics previously.
  2. Well, the nendroid is of the petite variety and correct me if I am wrong, but aren't those a lot easier to make more of than their larger counterparts? I think most people will be fine and there'll be plenty of the LE to go around.
  3. So according to this site here http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/11/05/release-window-and-pricing-details-released-for-blazblue-chrono-phantasma/ it seems like the two "North American exclusives" are a special features blu-ray and a "movie guide". Sorry folks, you're not getting Terumi or Kokonoe free. You're just gonna have to fork over your money like everybody else. Don't see how this necessitates the 5-month wait but there you go. EDIT: Actually the "movie guide" turns out is really just a poster with all the characters moves written on it http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2013-11-05/blazblue/chrono-phantasma-available-march-2014.
  4. Anyone have a gun to shoot me with? I can't myself enough times. That's 5 months of waiting. Granted, it gives me time to gather up enough for the LE but it still sucks having to wait so long. *Sigh* Well, it's a good thing I have other problems to attend to besides not being able to play CP early, so I might as well solve them while waiting. More to the point: I am curious about the supposed "2 North American exclusives" they mentioned. If I were the betting type, my money'd be on Terumi and Kokonoe being unlocked for us without having to pay for them. But then again, never underestimate a company's desire for your money.
  5. Well yeah. No matter how bad something is, there's usually bound to be at least 1 thing that you find enjoyable. I used to really dislike David Vincent's Haku-men voice back in CT. But I admit, his sheer ferocity when yelling out the Distortion Drives was phenomenal. And now he's a Transformer which makes him even better and finally differentiates him from Jin.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUPfPAhJuAY. You know, I said I never cared about Bang's ENG VA but damn this is just a prime example of how a voice simply does not match the character. It's so jarring that using it to potentially infuriate your opponent (or at least break their concentration) may be considered an optimal strategy for Bang players . I feel bad for Steve Kramer. He's a great VA when in his element but here, it just makes the most vocal fans douse their liquid hate on him. I just hope he's at least tolerable for Story Mode.
  7. Are you Santa Claus? 'Cause, I think I just got my Christmas present early. Thanks a lot for the videos.
  8. Ouch. That sounds incredibly...sad. Not the people continuing to play their game despite no new players picking it up (seriously, props for the dedication), but playing the same people for years without any new blood emerging just sounds depressing. UNiB just isn't going to live the initial release of multiple chain-shifts or loops-o-defeat down is it? But yeah, it makes sense considering competition in fighting games is pretty serious business in Japan as players can only afford to spend so much of their time on a particular game. That and ASW is definitely drawing the attention of their fans in the FGC. I barely even hear anything about the newest revision of SF4 or anything SNK-related these days.
  9. Yeah, and it is that very kind of thinking that came back to bite him in the ass in Wheel of Fortune. Just ask Haku-men for the details. So wait, then why would Rachel request that Tsubaki kill her, if either Jin or Tsubaki killing him gets the same desired result (preventing Ragna's "Evil")? Was that explained at all?
  10. Damn that looks amazing. Thanks for the link. Elven, did anyone actually attempt to do Faust's kancho overdrive on Dragon Install Sol to see if the image changes?
  11. Not exactly. Jin has the task of killing Ragna within an, as of yet, unspecified time-limit. If he fails, Tsubaki needs to kill Rachel with Izayoi's "Immortal Breaker" (remember, she said the Izayoi was an Anti-Observer weapon and can therefore kill immortal beings like Rachel) in order to stop Ragna's "Evil".
  12. Jin got really beaten down by the awakened Beast!Ragna (tentative name). So much so in fact, that while Celica can heal him, she's still not done and will need more time on him. Noel however, is much better off. Tsubaki is not happy and wants to kill Ragna herself for their sake. Rachel advises her against it, saying that she'd ultimately fail and that Ragna doesn't have much longer to live. As it turns out, he's got some real nasty "Evil" within him trying to break out by eating him from within and that if Jin fails to kill Ragna in time, it is Tsubaki's job to kill Rachel in order to prevent the "Evil" from consuming the world.
  13. Hmm, well certainly more confident than in CT or CS, though I feel that while this Noel has some confidence, Mu-12 simply radiates it. Again, just my opinion. But, let's finish off the academy trio. Makoto: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39ALDBU4bFM. Alright, while it still has that Makoto charm I feel the timing on BBS is far too hurried and kinda kills the mood. But I am more than willing to forgive that because Makoto now pulls a "C'mon, c'mon" like she's channeling Terry Bogard. Tsubaki: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckcLO3_hA9c. The Evil-costume switch doesn't seem to have affected her all that much here. Outside of her Astral and the occasional line here or there, you don't get a really vindictive feel from her in battle. Still no real problems and I do like how she yells out "Disappear" when doing 22A/B/C/D. Izayoi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MutERvdSilQ. Eh, I like it. Maybe it is a little too mellow for some, but I like it. There's really not much I can say really because I personally didn't find anything terrible or outstanding in there.
  14. If there was ever a time where I had to love the sound of Christina Vee's voice, that time is now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrQRbdTutTs. Talk about a noticeable confidence boost between Noel and Mu-12.
  15. Hmm, maybe it was the volume at which Blood Pain II was playing at. I know I couldn't even hear most of the Astral Heat quote from Azzy there outside the very sadistic "Have a taste...of the ULTIMATE DEATH". Actually, "sadistic" is a very good word to describe D.C Douglas' take on him, while Hiroki Yasumoto's is much more "battle frenzied". Not making the comparison to which is better mind you. Just that both of them excel at making Azzy sound a certain way to me.
  16. Which is all the more of a sucker punch to the player when they take it away . Silver lining? At least Luna's banshee shrill of a voice gets the boot . And after watching Azrael's English Astral Finish, I keep thinking D.C Douglas only really missed the mark on the laugh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqPXKxalTTI. It just sounds much more subdued and calculating than his Japanese counterpart. Then again, with all the screaming and growling Azrael does normally, I can't imagine a booming, maniacal laugh would have done wonders for Douglas' throat .
  17. I should hope that this won't be the case because there IS an alternative. See, part of the reason Jin is so crazy when it comes to Ragna is because he genuinely loves his brother but believes his life is filled with suffering (which is true). So Jin seeks to relieve him of this suffering but due to the love he has (as well as Yukianesa and the Antibody impulses) he thinks the best way to do this is by killing him, so it drives him nuts. Even his future-self, Haku-men, is not immune by this. Although he firmly believes killing Ragna is for the better, the act of doing so still causes him an extraordinary amount of grief (enough to kill Jin and himself in repentance according to CT), no matter how many times he's had to go through with it. So why the history lesson? Because the alternative has just shown itself in Ragna's inner "Evil" (mentioned by Rachel). It reportedly can "consume the entire world" and is trying to get out by eating Ragna from the inside. Solution? Deal with the "Evil" (without having Jin kill him or Rachel killed by Tsubaki which prevents it) once it emerges and voila, no more suffering Ragna and ergo, no more crazy "kill brother" mode for Jin or Haku-men. I kinda doubt that. I always figured it was because Mu-12 had her time to spend as Noel Vermillion. Nu-13 was just born on New Year's Eve and got offed right there and then. Plus, Ragna's running low on spare limbs at the moment and sacrificing that 5B leg will not do him any favors .
  18. Actually, this is a good point. Just because we saw an image of Fillia doesn't mean French Bread will 100% will include her (though, I still like how they made her fit into UNiB's art-style). That and I keep hearing various rumors claiming that even with the EXE:Late and Akatsuki in tow, UNiB is dropping in popularity at the arcades. I don't see how yet since match videos aren't becoming increasingly harder to find but there's also that to keep in mind.
  19. Ah good one, I didn't even think about that. Ragna was much calmer than usual during the time he goes inside Take-Mikazuchi to deal with her, which is a stark contrast to how he acted towards her in CT. And she tried her usual tricks from back then. Unfortunately for her, Ragna had matured from their time apart and was damn near unfazed by her words. Can't rightly tell ya. It could range from her becoming an amnesiac little girl to becoming an empty husk that cannot function (if the writers feel like she doesn't deserve a happy ending). Or maybe everything becomes hunky-dory and she acts very Saya-ish towards Jinjin and Rags.
  20. It's more along the lines of this: the Nu-13 you saw that was crying out for Ragna is most likely just her inner, residual memories as Saya. However, notice that she has little to no semblance of Saya (as in behavior) when fighting. She was literally designed to merge with Ragna and she will follow that to the letter. Lambda-11 may have housed her soul, but that's about it. The 11th unit wasn't designed to merge with Ragna and therefore, Nu's soul had no reason to obey her original programming at the time. You can feel sorry for her situation if you must, but do be aware that it was that same line of thinking that nearly cost Ragna both Noel and Jin in the True Ending. Least, that's my take on the matter.
  21. Wow, that's just...wow. I mean, I heard that they wanted to add in a Skullgirls character and I had my suspicions on it being Fillia but had no clue on how she'd even look. At the least, I kinda like the change. Sure, I like her original look fine since that's Skullgirl's art-style, but this is good too in a different way.
  22. Ragna becoming an antagonistic force is certainly plausible, though I am not entirely sure Jin is protagonist material. Don't get me wrong, he makes for a great deuteragonist but him being promoted to full-on protagonist is a mighty stretch. He is, however, definitely set-up to go against Ragna again what with Jin's task of killing him being a necessity now rather than some personal grudge or antibody impulses.
  23. So, Izanami was actually willing to let Ragna join her side (or at least, attempted to coerce him into it), even going so far as to offer him Terumi's head in exchange. Does she elaborate more on why she made him the offer or was it just something she did to piss him off further? I know she refers to him as "nii-sama" like Saya does in order to taunt him for instance.
  24. So, I was finally able to watch the True End in full and damn, this whole ordeal is very likely to impact Ragna as a character in a significant way come BB4. I mean, look at the situation he was in during CP. First, he loses the use of his Azure Grimoire due to Celica's presence in the timeline. Then is promptly trounced by (an Unlimited) Jin, leaving him to realize just how weak he himself is without the Azure Grimoire. Then he gets over his slump and acknowledges that it really isn't his power to use, vowing not to rely on it (as seen in his fight with Azrael). But, soon after, just as he found he has things to protect (in this case Jin, Noel, Celica etc.) Izanami swoops in and makes him attack them, while he is unable to do anything about it and is forced to watch. He's likely feeling really, really useless at the moment. Can't fight worth a damn without relying on the Azure which is ill-advised, but even if he doesn't, Izanami can simply make him go wild at any point which is a frightening thing. I'd be hard pressed to believe we'll be seeing the same sort of "buzz-off" attitude from him in BB4.
  25. Yeah I don't think I phrased that properly. I was actually trying to figure out if there was an explanation as to why Azrael is as strong as he is. But thanks for answering anyway. Though something else crept up: what happened to Nu-13 in the epilogue after stabbing Ragna? I keep hearing something about merging with him, though no further details were presented.
