I feel like this is simply a much more pronounced double-edged sword for her. One of Lizzie's primary weaknesses in P4A was that she needed Thanatos to do pretty much anything and without him, she might as well throw in the towel for the round. And for the most part this hasn't changed in P4U2. It's like you said: she now has more chances to hack away at the opponent, but she is punished much more severely once she loses those chances. Fortunately, she does have Radomizer/Debilitate now in case she needs to bide some time during Persona Break rather than just wasting SP on Mind Charge to get Thanatos back so that's a plus. However, I am really liking how they made Awakening benefit her now. Originally, forcing your Awakening wasn't the smartest option for Lizzie because the low health and no real benefits besides access to her only damaging SP skill and Diarahan. In P4U2, Awakening affects her whole gameplan. For example, Maragidyne is normally a really slow move with minimum fire pillars. Post-awakening, the move comes out insanely fast, has more range and gains more use. While still early, the general look of things is that Lizzie is, for the most part, the same as before. She can deal with someone like Kanji fairly easily, but Mitsuru, Aigis, Yu and even Akihiko are definitely characters she doesn't have an easy time with. Only difference here is that now, unlike before, she has more tools and methods to dealing with them. And if she has a proper set-up, she can even lay waste to them. It is of course, still a bit too early to make a definitive judgement, but I think this version of Lizzie has a lot more potential than before. We just need to see someone bring them to light.

You know I come to Alter Memory for the odd moments of brilliance like the Ragna and Lambchops bonding, but I stay for things that can be maliciously used out of context. Like so. Ah, it's the simple pleasures in life that really matter .

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Luminos564 replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Oh? IKs are being implemented soon? Sweet. I look forward to Slayer, Sol and Millia's the most now. As someone already pointed out, the visual overhaul that Xrd is getting allows ASW to go really cinematic and creative with them. Heck we already have that with the close-ups for the Overdrives and victory poses so IKs getting this sort of treatment sounds like an awesome idea to me. -
^ And I stand corrected. Turns out 5 cylinder revolvers exist and that's the choice ASW went with for Naoto, though such guns are not all that common. By the way, does Sho not have an Instant Kill? I was looking at the video tutorials of him and none even attempted it, yet in one they showed both Yukari and Junpei's. Or is the honor of having an IK reserved for PerShona?

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Luminos564 replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Eh, I've actually always been very fond of Zappa. Must be because I fuckin' LOVE horror movies and him playing like one in motion sits right at home with me. But I was always creeped out by Faust. I'm not joking. I am not fond of quirky, borderline insane doctors with extremely sharp objects. And then you find out he can teleport right into your room with a mere thought and I just gave myself nightmares again . Bedman's design is fine. I am not in love with it (why does he only have 3 fingers on the bed's left arm?) but I don't find it bad either. Oh and to answer someone's question: GG has plenty of normal-looking humans. Off the top of my head: -Johnny. -Jam. -Bridget. -Chipp. -Ky. -Anji. -May and arguably, most of the Jellyfish Lady Gang. -Millia (demonic hair notwithstanding). -
So, Day 2 and we already have a game breaking bug. Apparently Lizzie can make the opponent disappear permanently by going SB Maragidyne>Debilitate (Randomizer). I suppose it wouldn't be an ASW arcade release if something wasn't bugged here or there, but this quickly? At least the Azrael Valiant Airlines took some time before being discovered. Though, I kinda wanna see this for myself. Make them disappear and then proceed to SB Diarahan all your health back for a time out win. Maybe that's why I haven't seen anyone use Lizzie if this little bug is easy to pull off...
-
How fast are we talking about? Like maybe the speed of recovering blue health or are we talking Lizzie Diarahan fast? Because, I dunno about you guys, but the thought of fighting what is essentially a permanent Dragon Install Sol with auto-heal frightens the Philemon out of me.
-
Yeah, for Day 1 (or 2 now I guess) this was pretty good. Sadly I didn't catch any Junpei footage of him activating Bropei Install. I was wondering if it carries over between rounds like his points. As a side note, am I the only one finding it an odd choice to give Naoto 5 bullets on her 6 cylinder revolver? Saw that the moment you posted it Aristoblue. Thanks.

Chrono Phantasma Story Discussion [fun tentatively allowed again]

Lake? In other words, nobody found their bodies (that we know of) which means they're MIA and can neither be confirmed alive or dead until further notice. So here's something which I'd like explained if possible. Noel was never supposed to survive the Take-Mikazuchi blast originally, yes? Yet, we found out in CP that she has a Life Link with Hazama/Terumi. Now correct me if I am wrong, but how could she have died in the previous loops if she's always had it? -
Uuuh, it is still going live apparently on the same link. Not that it means much, but there's an Aigis player with 726 PSR already. That's pretty damn impressive if you ask me considering the game's been out for little more than a day.

Assuming his "personal education" doesn't end up serving as one last "Fuck you" to his son that is. Then again, BB has a tendency on making certain gag reels become (in a way) canon. Liitchi was a villain in Taokaka's gag reel and she really did end up joining the villain side. Maybe it'll be the same for Family Man Relius? -

And then they sic'd Haku-men on Terumi's ass and shit got done. Granted, we lost Trinity in the process but that's a small price to pay. Matter of fact, as much as a slaughterfest that BBCP is turning out to be, this has been the most productive step forward for the heroes. -
Apparently it's the same Shinto moon deity though, just with a different spelling. By the way, it seems like Arcade Mode runs consist of the various characters beating up Shadow versions along the way until they hit their respective designated target. Also, Sho's victory pose could give Carmine a run for his money.
-
Huh, can't believe my guess was right. Then again, it's thematically perfect so it all works out in the end. No Persona Sho is looking pretty damn decent overall. Though it all paled in comparison when I saw my Lizzie again. That 5D range nerf hurt me right in the feels but Awakened Maragidyne ©...that speed man. It looked freaking insane.

So I am having trouble seeing it, but is the absurd amount of Fatal Recovery moves from Loketest 3 still in? I only ask because it seems like Yu's so far unstoppable though that may simply be Day 1 syndrome. Well from the general look of things, Shadow characters really need to enter Rampage mode at the right time since they look like they need it for any sort of damage. Though, some Shadow versions may have more of a use of it than others. Rampage mode may not be of a lot of use to say Shadow Kanji but to someone like Shadow Naoto, getting your opponent from 13 to 0 Fate Counters is pretty damn valuable.
-
That's the one. The good (or bad if you're on the receiving end) part is that even though the constant supers force the Rampage mode to run out quicker, you can still pull off one last super even if the meter sits at 1. That Shadow Naoto player did it for the win at least twice finishing off with a Hamaon like that. Pretty nifty a trick if you ask me.
-
Oh wow, that Shadow Naoto vs. (OG) Shadow Labrys. It's like one super after another and boom suddenly you got Hamaon'd to death.

What's the worst fighting game you've played?
Luminos564 replied to Verimeloni's topic in Misc Fighter Central
What, you need examples of decent voice acting in fighters? Well, BB and P4A both have it. I haven't played the game myself but SFxT has some rather good English cast (when they actually bother to use it). Say also what you will about MvC3 as a game, but the voices were for the most part excellent. Soul Calibur is also stellar in this regard. There were Inuyasha fighters? Really? -
We have the Original (Asterius) Shadow Labrys and the Labrys (with Ariadne) has her own Shadow form which uses the Persona. It gets a bit confusing though, I admit.

What's the worst fighting game you've played?
Luminos564 replied to Verimeloni's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Well perhaps "standard" wasn't a good word for me to use here but lets use some examples: -Sound and Voice Acting, especially the latter got really good in recent years. They've gotten to the point where I actually prefer hearing characters in English over their original Japanese voice. Of course, it isn't like hearing Danzaiver shout his lines whenever I feel nostalgic won't move me to tears. -Graphics. I'm a bit of a graphics whore and once I get used to a game looking a certain way, I tend to not be able to look past the older times when games were in blocky 3D and the like. Graphically Evil Zone wasn't all that impressive compared to things like Tekken 3 and Bloody Roar 1, 2 which I played right after. Incidentally those 3 were the last 3D fighters I ever played and I've since remained purely on the 2D plane. Of course, like anyone else, I fully understand that graphics =/= better necessarily, but the presentation is certainly a plus. Now if you'll excuse me, I am off to go wishing for long range grabs like Evil Zone had. Those were always so entertaining. Ihadurca's wand-coaster throw was the shit XD. -

Whoa, rein your anger good sir. I never said I didn't LIKE the game. It is fun for all its faults (matter of fact, the faults are part of the charm) but as a fighter in comparison to today's standard and those I've played since? Yeah, it's the "worst" fighter I got to play, though arguably was the 1 fighter that I was good at and had 100% fun with. -

I'm more anxious to see Zappa. Jam would be a lovely bonus though. -
Breaking all her carefully constructed barriers and outright backhand slapping her into submission probably added some vinegar to go along with that salt.

Not my department. My job is to analyse the game as a consumer and then complain like a scrub when it turns out I am shit at the game. Actually I had a small brainwave. OK so we all know that most Shadow versions use the character's old autocombo while their originators have new ones, correct? So what about Yukari and Junpei? Do their Shadow-selves have different autocombos or just use the same ones?
