Isn't it weird how in ASW fighters, tournaments are used for a specific purpose that serves the plot? In Guilty Gear 1, Testament used it as a means to gather up enough blood to free Justice and ensure that humans were weakened from fighting each other, meaning less opposition for Justice as well. Here, they used it to lure out both Tsubaki and Azrael, using Ragna as bait since he was their respective target (though not for the same reasons). It is actually pretty damn clever since Tsubaki wants him caught and executed, while Azzy wants to fight him. Two birds, one stone.

Personally I am rather glad that I read the spoilers since some heavy-duty shit went down. I mean, look at what we learned so far: -Terumi got royally offed by Haku-men. -Tenjou was the previous Imperator and is a descendant of Mei. -Seithr has been removed thanks to the man with the red-hot passion, Bang. -The NOL was overthrown and a new Imperator is set in place. -Saya is revealed to have been possessed by a being of death named Izanami. -Ragna goes berserk and is now revealed to be housing an evil that can "swallow the world whole". Added to that, he's slowly dying because the thing is trying to eat him. So yeah, story mode is set to be a blast for me since, as you said, we've yet to hear the dialogue in full. This is all good stuff and I can speculate on my own whilst waiting for the localization (sorry ASW, but I can't wait for Aksys' tentative early 2014 date). Exactly. Another benefit: reading spoilers now allows you to get hyped more for the game itself if you find yourself particularly enjoying some given info.

I agree. Ragna continuing to push forward when any other person would go "Fuck this noise, I'm outta here" is one of his better qualities as a character.

*Slow, dramatic clap*. Well Mori has done it. He has found a way to make it so that the BB universe fucks Ragna up so horribly, that no good can ever come to him. Now? He never seemed to be unwilling to protect other people before. He saved Noel from being made into a pin cushion by Nu-13 when he had absolutely no reason to. He does the same by generally avoiding crowds considering his Azure Grimmoire sucks the life out of living beings in order to function. Or was it that you were just referring to the fact that he's not so trigger happy to use it now? Though I will admit he's been steadily improving on his temperament. Less pissed off, more tranquil fury. Which is why him going berserk and hurting both Jin and Noel against his will is such a massive sucker punch to his motivations.

Double bummer. It kinda sucks when your alt.mode and a pretty damn powerful one story-wise is just used to showcase how dangerous a Berserking Ragna is.

So yeah, I REALLY like what they've done with Haku-men's filter. He sounds positively ORGASMIC now with that deep a voice. If I did not make a solemn vow to not play Haku-men anymore (due to my inability at using him properly), I'd main him again in a hearbeat if only because of the voice used. Indeed. Added to this, I don't really see some people's problem with his voice filter. I don't really get a Darth Vader vibe from him. If anything he sounds more like any given Transformer, which is all kinds of fun for me. And now I wish we had a character voiced by Peter Cullen.

Please tell me that Azrael gets a joke ending featuring his hatred of sporks at least. I mean, come on, it's Azrael. He's a hulking brick shithouse with a tendency to destroy things (or people, whichever is in the vicinity) and the one thing his official bio states as his dislike is sporks. That's comedy gold if I ever saw one. But it is sad to hear they're repeating the joke endings now. Spectacles of Eros was my favorite, but even I admit that once was plenty.

Interesting. And really, Rachel's magic is a lot weaker now? She seemed to be able to teleport left and right just fine in CT and CS. Then again, that was usually just herself, Nago and Gii while occasionally giving someone a lift/escape route.

So it wasn't just Trinity's soul that Hazama took down with him like I initially thought? But instead he took down Platinum's body altogether? Not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand it is terrible that Trinity is gone but if Platinum goes, so does the Luna personality (which is a plus in my book).

Anyway, Izanami not having "time" makes sense if you think about it. If "she" is an entity of death, then the concept of time passing (or being destroyed) is worthless to "her". Go figure. Haku-men's "time killer" boss-specific skill has a valid explanation for not working on the Imperator (well besides the obvious "We need her for BB4"). And I am most excited for "Beast" Ragna that unwillingly beat down Jin and Noel then disappeared (please tell me there is an image out the somewhere). Jin's beating was to be expected since he cannot spend one damn game without getting trounced by SOMEONE after he has his moment to shine. Noel though . Poor thing can catch a break (much like how Ragna cannot either).

I think it is usually the case that they can't reveal who they voice until the game's official release. However, tossing hints here or there seems to be an exception to the rule.

Considering he died (or rather was killed) some 700+ times beforehand, Rachel is just stating the inevitable.
