Is it possible to leave the arcade after paying venue fee to grab coffee or something? How does one acquire food while waiting? If I go, I'm gonna be very early, too.

Trying to head over to the Stickbug tourney at Next Level on the 28th, but money ($60 trip) and school might shut me down. I really want to go to this one, though. Watch me get bodied the 28th. :P

NCI event was very exciting to watch - just some things I noticed: 1 . This game is going to be very hard to cover unless there is a spectator mode or we have someone good at watching multiple perspectives. I recommend two casters, one for each team. 2. Dude commentating was knowledgeable but long-winded. Coopa really tried to stay hype through lack of knowledge and stood out for it. He had it right. While the guy presented the game to newcomers very well, he seemed to miss a lot while going on. Completely forgivable but should be an opportunity for improvement once the setup improves. 3. This game is crazy at a high level. Clearing the missions at S rank is crazy, and lot of the missions have it stacked against you bad. I can only imagine how awesome Japan is at this game.

I'm watching NCI - and Dacidbro is in FRKZ and is like 4c 6 4c 6 4c 6 4c... (Can't tell if he's hitting ground to reset dash counter) Why is this a combo? :O Oh my god. (Hilarious, though.)

Just so you guys know - There are many streams out there for KOF if you want to watch: KinestKO featuring that awesome leona Coopa is a good one - also but Norcal install and other west coast events. Neomaxico was recently introduced to me - they lack some hype but are pretty cool.

Thanks, man - you're right. I have to admit right now I'm not in a good state of mind to really be playing or discussing it. Maybe I just need a break or to stop looking at this like it's work and more like It's something fun and challenging to to do and not something that has a lot at stake. It's been dragging me down a lot, for sure, not just trying to catch up and learn these games.

Then I'd just be accused of accusing the netcode as an excuse for being bad.

Okay - I'm losing to fireballs and DPs. I can't figure out what to do. I should give up on this game, because I've learned absolutely nothing, and losing to day one people that just scrub it up hard. and I just sit and practice and fumble with the controller on everything. I find I just want ot hold downback, which is completely stupid. Why do I play this game if I just insist on losing just because I can't find myself capable of even putting up a fight against the worst the game has? It's SF4 to me. I really should quit.

Well, I'll tell you what - Being King of Casuals is sometimes good enough - Present the game positively, encourage people to try and be friendly when presenting the game to them, and they play. I got 5 people to try BlazBlue in fall 2011. I probably got three of them to play, even if they are just scrubbing it up on platinum or just learning. Hell, I got someone who plays a legit potemkin - hates the game - to play Tager. The guy said nothing but how the game is stupid the whole time, and he was making most people free, but guess what? I GOT HIM TO PLAY. HE WAS PLAYING.
