[CS2/CSE] Lambda Critique And Self-Improvement Thread
AchedSphinx replied to HexaNoid's topic in v -13-
Why would you use 2A for mixup, is what I don't understand. 2B is better. You need to block low for that. 2B > j.214D, if you want. 2B is neutral on block and crescent saber has something like a 20 frame start-up, it's a quick overhead. No need to add a 5B in there. It's not mixup if you're not mixing things up. For more examples you can go with 2B > throw, 2B > 4B[2], 2B > 236A > cross-over...etc. Mix-up. Unless you hit-confirm with 2B or some other starter, I wouldn't recommend 3C for pressure. If you want to get critiqued properly, it's best if you pick a game where you're not trying to be flashing/trolling/etc, at least that way we can see where you're actually weak at. -
Always nice to have a useless accessory. Kinda like Lambda's ponytail blade.

Basically, if they fixed her defense, she'd be god tier. I've been finding out lately, that 5A is amazingly good for getting out of corner pressure. You know, when you expect an overhead or something, it comes out really fast, so I've been testing it out. Really the most glaring of her offense is that she relies on gravity so much. At the moment I've been saving it for the corner for some easy 5k-6k combos, but perhaps I should use it more frequently than that. If they made it if gravity field had a cooldown if used at long range, but if used in a combo it finishes the cooldown, that'd be nice. That aside, I've gotten down on reacting to hit confirms off 5a, 2a, and random drives, now I need to react to crouching into 4B. Once I have that in my arsenal I will truly feel S-tier.

Yup.

I think Luke just recently started playing. Was level 5 in a player match room. Also, I don't know who Lovely is, but his Platinum is pretty good. Didn't know KirbyFreak was Chilipeppers, that's really cool, only had 3 matches with him though. The first time we played I saw the 1 bar and evaded. Even one bars are scary at times, but I gave it a shot and the lag was minimum at best. So perhaps you're right. I get 0 bar with Beaves, so maybe the lag won't be as noticeable. Oh and Turn, my friend dualseeker was facepalming at how your Tager did a 720 between his 5a pokes. It was a good match so I might upload it soon.

Hmm, I think I should make a video of every possible Lambda combo from every starter. Could be interesting. Lot of editing though so I'm dreading it :P
-
Somehow your original intentions transformed into a FT15 :P Not enough Lambda's to mirror with that's for sure.
-
My net is actually really good at night, like 2am, and you're online then, so we can give it a shot. I mean, what's the worse that could happen...
-
I use Noel sometimes. Haven't as of late though. Been too into Lambda and her awesomeness. I'm getting mad good at hit confirms from 5a, 6a, and 2c, even 5D pokes are much better now. Problem now is that I can't, for the life of me, dash at all. It's just weird. It just does not happen. Which sucks since I depend on those 236D sickle oki corner things a lot. I guess it's back to practicing the basics, which is a simple dash haha. You should saw that mirror I had against Toan though, so much sickle oki it was bananas. Some of those fights were really close too. I'll probably upload a few soon.

I dunno man. I'm in NC and you're in Hawaii, just thinking about gives me nightmares. But, I'm up for a challenge. FT10 whoever disconnect first wins :D
-
I gave Toan more mirror matches than he could handle. Went about even. So many air throws were had that day. GGs to Toan, KirbyFreak(sounds like someone I might know), Nemesis, LukeYuriRaine, Sleep II Terror, Neji, Snowman9118, Sgt VIP, Supersolider x5, Lovely Pyrrah, Coopadaddy, and probably some more a may have missed. Good to get some games in after a two-week hiatus. Someday you and I will play Beaves.
-
Toan... Dat Lambda! That is all.
-
You guys are so cool. If I was Lambda I would Act Parser and give you all a hug.exe :D Anyways, what Beave said seems legit. Spike Chaser slows the momentum of the match to Lambda's pace. It's probably the most effective thing against speedy people, because she can bait jumpouts, etc, to get some free damage. All about the timing really. Still probably 6-4. I haven't played in a few weeks though. There's a lot more to the match than that. But best thing to remember is that Tao has low HP, her drives make her vulnerable, she lacks a DP without heat, and has 4 primers. Taking advantage of that would seem like an effective strategy if you want to win consistently against her. That aside, I like the gold color as well. I call it the bling bling. It's fun :D
-
I've been drifting toward that Pink and White palette she has. Though it's either that or her default. Lambda is so cute as a blonde :D
-
I wanna talk about Lambda. So what's everyone's palette of choice?
-
It's easy to do. Do 2147. Make sure your character has jumped. Look for the puff of white smoke under Lambda's feet. When she is off the ground you have maybe a second to press D and she will do crescent saber.
-
It's only rewarding if they're in the corner afterwards or you win the round with it. Also, I make Cabutler look like Koqn, except he breaks my limbs if I win a round. These analogies are pretty fun.
-
Oh I see, seems like it would be fun to mess around with her for a bit. The thing I noticed though is that the majority of her combos lead into that j.C etc route, which isn't that difficult to do. I suppose it's the spacing req and things like that I'd need to get used to though.
-
You know what's scarier than 3C? 2B. Because Lambda can do a lot of scary stuff off that simple poke. 2B > j.214D (2B isn't jump cancel-able but it is neutral on block, so opponents won't readily mash buttons if you do it) 2B > tick throw. 2B > 4B. 2B > 2B, yay footsie pokes. It should be noted that 2B has higher prorate than 3C, thus its the better starter. You can easily do 2B hit confirm into 3C to cause some damage. 2B is just an overall good normal and should be your go to poke and not 3C, provided you decide to go close range. If you really want to lock someone down close range, I would suggest doing crescent mixup instead, or 4B[2]. Just have an escape plan and don't over commit.
-
Is it me or are Mu's combos really easy to do. I was just messing around with her and picked her up instantly.
-
Salty runbacks are the worse. On a side note, I haven't played BB in like two weeks. I'm probably mad rusty.
-
A combo I did awhile back.

Ode to the Joutai Henkou (A Lambda Musical) There's a fun surprise at the end for all my Lambda lovers :D

Gonna have to use that sickle storm oki friend. 3C > gravity seed isn't good because they're already blocking low, they just need to wait for you to finish and then punish you. TK crescent saber mix-up is also helpful. Want to get out of the corner? Instant blocking is literally the only way. If you want to use 4B, you can do it on rushdown, with 4B[2] for an overhead, be sure sickle storm is keeping them in place before you do it though. Also, I'd recommend not doing 236B unless its off a 5D hit confirm or something, otherwise you're in a predictable situation because 9 times out of ten you will backdash and your opponent will get you. If you really wanna freak them out, air forward dash j.B/j.C, that'll net you some brownie points. Don't forget to use 6A and 2C, it's useful a lot of the time. 214D~C is also very useful so make use of it more if you can, to get around the map, bait jump outs, etc. That's about all I have for the moment. Hope that helps.
