Anyone want to play?

C cancel is really, really bad for approaching. You're at a huge disadvantage. C cancel is useful more so for surprising people with tricks or gimmicks, or re-positioning oneself in the air that isn't exactly near the opponent. Also approaching on blocked chains in EX is really bad unless you know your spacing because the block-stun is really not there. It also depends on the opponents anti-air options so that comes a lot down to match-ups. Your key approaches are getting hits while zoning with Chains, and Chain movement. Being able to trick the opponent with quick movement and approaching from an angle that they did not expect or properly spacing an air normal when flying in is key to approaching. Also utilizing B cancel to get around obstacles like Itsuu, doll normals, whatever or just to approach from an angle they weren't expecting is important too. Because remember you can cancel chain movement with another chain, or normal. You'll have to get used to the different trajectories and then understanding the spacing/start-up for your own normals to be able to get in more consistently. Also you'll have to worry about character match-ups. For instance, against most character if you go in on a blocked chain and are properly spaced so that the tip of J.B hits their hurtbox it is relatively safe; however, you can actually never do this on lambda because her 5A is a decent speed with an very big hit-box that extends far past her hurt-box. http://www.dustloop.com/guides/bbcse/hitbox/hazama/j.B.html If you look at it, Hazama's hurtbox is incased by the hit-box for J.B making most characters have a hard time 5A anti-airing this normal when perfectly spaced. http://www.dustloop.com/guides/bbcse/hitbox/lambda/5A.html Now looking at Lambdas hit-box you can clearly see that her hit-box is huge incomparison to her hands hurtbox for the move. So again it's more match-up specific, but it's all about the movement and spacing.

Those are CS1 combos and no longer work in EX. If you want to practice EX combos, please refer to the EX archives combo thread. Also, this guide is outdated but okay to introduce you to some of the concepts you'll need to understand to play him. Also you can always refer to the wiki. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?14605-CSE-Beginner-s-guide-to-being-a-snake%21-Hazama-for-dummies-bring-your-balisongs-v2-1

My performence is notably worse on ps3 vs. Xbox just because the netplay is so much better. I wouldn't say the quality of players is better on the Xbox though vs. Ps3.

GGs to everyone I played. I might play league too actually haha
-
I'm going to be playing more on psn now as my xbox stick is broken. Either send me a friend request to get some games in, or just don't make your rooms private. Thanks

?!?! =O I'm sorry son we can play tomorrow! Unless you're talking about me vs. Tectal. I just prefer Hazama in that match-up.

Cp Relius takeover? ?_?

You can't zone Hazama, that is true, but in all honesty Mu vs. Hazama isn't /that/ bad. You have great damage and I have no reliable reversal. On the other hand you do have a dp. The main issue with how you're approaching Haz is that you're not using the right set-ups to keep me blocking when you hit me. In addition to the fact that you're mashing too much risky stuff or not paying attention to what I'm doing during pressure. I don't know how many J.2Cs I landed while you pressed 2B. Also you were getting too predictable with your dps and Hazama gets more damage off punishes than his actual mix-up. In neutral, try to stay mobile and get yourself to force the game mid-screen where Hazama has far less options than you. Don't try to zone with steins because that obviously doesn't work as you stated. The match-up is in Hazama's favor, but Mu is far from helpless.

[CSE] Makoto Nanaya's General Gameplay Discussion Thread

That and Ragna isn't even broken. Just he has one really dumb move that lets him get away with stuff, but he honestly needs it to be a decent character. -
Ah. In my experience, if you're able to do 2147B the loop will come out much more consistently than 9214B. The trick with doing 2147, is to bring the stick down to 2 right after you hit 5C. You don't gatling into 2C right away, but you do bring the stick down to the 2 and let the 5C ride out. Then once 5C is just about at the end of the frames where you can cancel the gatling, press C. Now, you can go straight into TK hiren because the superjump buffer is gone and you can just go through the TK motion and continue the combo. It's important to get hiren out as low to the ground as possible while they are as high as possible, otherwise you won't be able to pick up the combo after hiren. It's good to get used to some visual ques as well that may help you combo. For instance, pay attention to the red sparks the opponent makes when they bounce on the floor after hiren. Once you see the red sparks, buffer your dash and go straight into 5C into another loop and you're golden

lol What. Well, aside from a couple of Hazama's buttons being practically the same normals, Terumi and Hazama are not going to play anything alike. Also, I wouldn't worry too much with the loop because it's just an EX thing and is taken out in the next version. Importers are getting it next month so what little scene this game has you're not gonna get to play too much. You can grind the combo out if you want, but I'm just saying don't stress over it too much if you don't get it down. If you're really dedicated to playing Terumi in the next version, it will probably be best to pick up a standard rushdown character like Ragna, Jin, Makoto; whoever, just someone who could teach you more about fundamentals. Hazama is a very unique character, but plays so radically different from everyone else that you'll likely lack certain aspects of your core game.

By 3c you mean 5C right? The TK loop takes time to get down, but it's pretty easy once you're used to the timing.

You're trying to mash too much when you shouldn't. Respect doll pressure and just wait for the doll to go away and then you have a chance to play. In neutral be wary of the doll but it is extremely risky to try to sledge through it. Like, Relius can easily punish sledges with a well timed 5B or IadJ.A and you just get hit again. Simply hitting the doll away when it is in your face is a very viable option because it forces the doll to desummon, unless I use 2D which has superarmor. With the doll gone you have a much better chance of maybe getting a hit off into knockdown into Tager time.

Spectator slots...?

You guys need to relax. The ps3 does have more players for this game first off. Second off, the whole reason the "Ps3 has better players than xbox live" started because it was true when people actually played this game. More top players used the ps3 instead of the xbox, so the statement was very true. Third, calling roughly over half of your own community ass on a forum is extremely rude and can only further divide the community. Part of me feels like this relates to some petty console war that was cool when the consoles came out like 6 years ago or something. In any case, it's also ridiculous for you guys to call them bad when the reality is, you're not much better xbl. No, you guys are roughly the same, there are just more players on the ps3. The only thing I will say is... ps3 netcode is ass in comparison.

GGs Deadliest, Eevee, Dark Ranger, and gold champion. Dark Ranger you've gotten much better since we last played. Good to see players actually improving, one thing though I have to say; stop using J.CC so high. It's good to use it high to blow up any anti-air attempt but you're doing it way over my head. In fact the way you're doing it, if I'm paying attention, just gives me the green light to anti-air you. When hitting a button early on during a jump in attempt you aim for the top of their standing hurt-box, normally it would whiff if they were crouching; however, when someone jumps in pressure the opponent stands /generally/. Getting into more advance stuff you can actually scout out these early jump-ins and duck them, or low profile, or someone who is god with anti-airing can fuck you, but it still makes it harder. If you do it from the right height, the follow-up for J.C will connect on their block/ or hit if they tried to anti-air and you can continue pressure safely/combo.

Twice today I join two different random rooms and play one game with my Relius. Then I proceed to be kicked by the host. lol
-
Thanks, I pick up most of my combos from watching Ryo, experimenting myself, and one from Stickbug. IT's really important to not waste ignis meter so you can keep killing them. lol Yeah I get Relius astral a lot because I don't use meter that often other than to like get out of stuff or use punch super to get that last combo in.

I'mma be in westcoast tomorrow, and I'm bringing my ps3. =o

I'd ask matches with anyone but it's still spiking. =< Cable guys coming out on thursday, so hopefully things are better then. v.v

Pick a different character.
-
Yeah, that character is a problem. =/ Seriously my least favorite character in BB, both in her play and just like the character itself.

Someone want to play? Unsure if connection is fixed and I want to test. Also, Hazama's 2C hits both her 2D and 4D, so it is the god button.
