  2. well isn't that an interesting coincidence yeah i also thought that the auto-pruning meant stuff got hard-deleted, but Gwyrg said that he could somehow retrieve threads/posts if you gave him something to look for shrugu. hey Suzaku, is that a photocopy, or something you put together? cuz i think Kliff's and Testament's birthplaces should be "Switzerland", not "Sweden".
  3. self-important, much? no one's gonna want to do any favours for you with that kind of attitude. and the forum's been autopruning stuff older than 5 months, for a while now. if you specifically want to revive a thread or something like that, i think you can HUMBLY and POLITELY ask Gwyrgyn Blood to find and retrieve it. (i don't know where he goes to find it, maybe the dustloop dimension, but anyways he can do it.) well anyways, if you guys want this to be SEEN and discussed by the mods/admin, make a new thread in the site feedback & suggestions subforum with your ideas.
  4. i kinda disagree, maybe if the forum was *only* for fandom discussion that would work, but DustLoop has to weigh gameplay and fandom, and to try to justify a new subforum for "official non-gameplay material only" would be quite the uphill battle. if you really want to segregate the two topics, just make another thread for "official story/art stuff", and i don't think it'd be a problem to get it stickied in here.
  5. hey lovage, can you post a link to the source of that? haha, i didn't notice there was no B tier, that's interesting.
  6. wow, tier list with a rating of B- as lowest? not bad.

    Slayer AC strats

ok so i re-read what i posted and if you think about it, it's a bit inconsistent and contradictory. to land a CH Mappa, you're gonna have to use it outside of combos, so the way you do that is learn which of your opponent's moves you can "snipe" with (usually) K Mappa. but i think in general, everyone has something that will beat Mappa (usually a generic upper-body invul move will do), so it's a guessing game on both sides as to whether you'll do it or not -- and if the opponent knows a really strong punish/counter to your Mappa, then you'll probably find yourself using it less and less outside of combos, because the risk of doing it will outweigh the reward. but the option's always there, so don't disregard it completely.
  8. might wanna edit and re-up the vid, the song is being forcibly muted cuz of copyright issues i think.

you definitely don't want to get it blocked, so you should only go for Mappa during a combo, after you have already hit-confirmed some other attack (like 5K). rarely you will end a combo with Mappa; i can only think of something like 5K x2, P Mappa against someone if you're not in range for 5K, 2D to combo, you're patiently looking for a hit to to whittle away at their health, you happened to get a 5K, and you have less than 50% (75%?) tension. K Mappa is (surprisingly) useful in combos where the opponent gets popped into the air, but not too high. Something like 2K, 2H, [5K, Mappa] x2 or 3, then pick your re-launch of choice will work on Potemkin, for an easy example. But i seem to recall other situations in recent match vids, i just don't remember which vids they were exactly. on counterhit, a bunch of stuff links, notably BBU and DOT. so, if you've got the tension, go for it (unless you're building up tension for a better timed DOT, but idk it's probably not a bad spot to go for it anyways). what links will slightly depend on how close you are when you CH them, so play around with it in training mode to see what works. the ones i remember are 5P, 2P, 5K, 2K, 2D if you're close enough, BBU and DOT. probably c.S too, but you'd have to be really close. something like 2K is probably best, cuz you can do 2K, (2S, ) 2D for damage, tension gain, and knockdown at no tension cost. just my 2 cents. *okay well if you wanna be an asshole/stupid/unnecessarily risky, you can spam it a few times in a row and fish for counter hits like that, but that only works for so long.
  10. in addition to the above posts, i wanted to add that you should also poke around Youtube for Sol combo videos and Sol matches.
  11. ah, i'd forgotten about that other thread... but yeah, going by this thread's first post, maybe we should take all the picture-posting to the Zepp Museum thread.
  12. this thread belongs in the Zepp Museum, I think.
  13. funny, i got mcnuggets after i got off at the station near my apt. sounds like you guys had a fun time afterwards!

    Slayer AC Combos

i actually didn't pay enough attention and just skimmed over the "j" cuz i didn't think that it would mean "another jump", so don't worry, my bad too.

    j.D-2K -> K -> S -> K -> land? that doesn't seem right, or is there a double jump in there somewhere (like 2K -> K -> dj.S)?
  17. don't make me delete 109 posts in a row, again.

  19. (try not to turn the thread into an AIM/MSN conversation, please keep it (somewhat) on-topic.)
  20. sorry dude, but that's kinda old news -- actually, there are some good combos to learn in the Baiken Guide STICKY. might wanna check there, first. edit: lol, "Next: GC Combos". whoops. anyways, it's old news You might wanna take out those j.Ps, btw, they slightly reduce the damage. and although there are only, like, 2 Baiken combo vids, it's better than nothing i guess. try looking those up on youtube (or just watch match vids on youtube, too).
  21. i always thought batako was some weird play on "tabako" (tobacco). btw i haven't watched every vid from the G3 newcomer's tourney, but i already found a couple of typos (which i've listed in Goldenrody's post in the video posting thread), so if anyone finds any OTHER ones, please post up in here and i'll edit the post again.
  22. btw you can either 6P the scalpel, or block -> youshijin. 6Ping it is like saying "hey fuck you" and getting a bit of damage, but not much else. blocking and countering with youshijin usually (always?) scores you a counter hit, so you should be able to follow up somehow -- but even if he's too far away, it gives you a chance to run in safely. in addition to poking and the occasional sakura, you should also use Ouren to make him extra cautious and psyche him out into giving up a pressure sequence. i mean in a sense, the same should happen with the threat of you countering with Sakura (in psyching out your opponent), but because Ouren is long range, it can really mess with your opponent about how they should approach you. but don't forget, Ouren has no invincibility, so it can get beat out by several moves (6P, 5K, 2K, 2S, of course air throw) if he anticipates it. as always, with Baiken, blocking is a mix-up
  23. http://www.norematch.com/ggxx/ggxxacvideos.shtml do a text search for "Luck" (i think that should get all the vids they have of him) btw whatever happened to Bell, the baiken player who won the G3 (newcomers?) tournament during GG Slash? guy just up and disappeared when AC came out, as far as i can tell.
  24. maybe you should try writing it in katakana as エルベンシャドー? then they might get the hint. tough match with the may, there, and it was a real crusher to see May's jackhound (magically) beat out your chop FB for the lose. what a wacky game. it's crazy that Akira's Axl should take the newcomer's tournament, too. i mean wtf, there were some "oldtimers" in that tournament, yet the highest-placing "oldtimer" was kiisha's faust at 3rd? btw HONNOU there was a "shin tokorozawa ino" in one of the blocks, was that you? and gj to HINATELOVE, hopefully they'll put up more vids later
