  1. it would be nicer if you had a MEANINGFUL THREAD TITLE.
  2. what do you mean by "if a high tip 5C hits"? if you hit an aerial opponent with the top of 5C's hitbox?
  3. but Climhazzardous, don't forget that jump start-up depends on each character, so don't say "Jump Start-up = 3F", because that's misleading. yeah I think superjump has the same start-up as normal jump, but i forget for sure or not. as an aside, jump-cancelling adds 1F of start-up, be it jump-cancelling from the ground or double-jump cancelling an aerial attack. (that's why Baiken can't combo 6P -> j.D, for example.) it's the "special frame" referred to in the "normal jump cancel" thing that Gwyrgyn wrote up in the Gameplay FAQ in the Foundations. normal jump cancelling kills that 1F (which seems to be inserted by the game engine, i guess); when you do that, double-jump cancelling off an aerial attack has 0F start-up. well anyways, not saying you have to include that or anything. btw Clim, what did you use for reference? maybe use some of the stuff from Gwyrg's FAQ, in case you're not sure of what to include. at the least, using his notation there makes the terminology consistent.
  4. idk, i think Zappa is fairly underplayed and annoying to play against in my opinion. could be interesting, but anyways, all of the characters you've listed have their share of weaknesses, so like 4r5 said, just pick someone who you can imagine playing for a while and go for it. (and don't feel bad if you change your mind later, either!)
  5. PM Blade, I'm sure he'll be happy to fill you in.
  6. you know, this actually belongs in Guilty Pleasures, so I hope you don't mind me moving it over there.
  7. be that as it may, all you had to do was omit your first sentence and the matter simply wouldn't have come up (and nobody would've accused you of "sucking up to him", either).
  8. correction: bottom tier can get 2nd at tougeki in 3v3 format whether that's considered "bottom tier can win" or not -- i'll let you decide.
  9. who cares if it was Kaqn???? question marks????
  10. tough broad != man
  11. let's not get too inane in here, please.
  12. oh sorry, i forgot to ask: what are the necessary conditions to get it off? (how much tension? is it round/wins dependent? does it depend on my/the opponent's health bar? etc.)
  13. what is the input for Akumetsu? and could someone (JackG?) try to compile info into the first post? even if it's a list of bulleted points, it's better than having to scan through the entire thread every time you wanna look for something.
  14. doesn't j.2A in CS have the same attack animation as j.2C in CT? like i can basically make sense of what combo you guys are referring to, but at the same time, perhaps you're really referring to the new j.C and j.2C in CS (in which case that's not a valid combo to my knowledge!), so I just want to make sure we're on the same page, here. qwerty: it's on my little notepad, so i'll try it out next time i fight someone with fireballs
  15. this forum's description says it's for VIDEO AND AUDIO discussion -- this goes in Guilty Room, the general GG discussion section. the next time you're not sure if you're posting in the right area, ask a moderator: it's one of our jobs, after all! (and it saves us from scolding wayward members.)
  16. this isn't in particular reference to RnR's vids, but i was wondering if you could elaborate this point a bit more: ?
  17. wtf Retribution? in Japanese, the move name is 虚空陣奥義 夢幻 (KOKUU-JIN OUGI MUGEN); in-game, when Hakumen speaks in JAPANIZU, he says: "KOKUU-JIN OUGI... MUGEN!" ("rawr" in CS) btw, I realized that since CS isn't available to everyone in the US yet (right? ?__?), some people might have some questions about Hakumen, but won't be able to test stuff out by themselves. However, since I'm living in Tokyo and there's an arcade nearby with CS, I thought that maybe I could volunteer to try to answer some questions by testing stuff out, when I get the chance. Now I can't promise that I'll be able to answer everything, since I'm actually not quite so familiar with the system compared to some of you guys (lol see some of my recent posts to see why...), but anyways, I thought I'd put it out there, just to try to help out a bit.
  18. lol my bad! ryoko didn't post those, but the blog looked very similar and i forgot that he posted vids from Mikado, so that was my mistake. yeah sorry, next time i'll definitely post up in the other thread, just slipped up this time.
  19. http://gro2.blog33.fc2.com/ ryokoalways posted links to the matches in the video posting thread, as well.
  20. ... and while we're completely out in left field talking about Hakumen's technique names, i wanted to mention that "kokuu" (虚空) could be a reference to a Boddhisattva which is known in Japanese as Kokuuzou Bosatsu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akasagarbha so it might be a bit of a stretch, but since Hakumen is samurai-ish, i thought there could be a loose connection between "Kokuu-jin" and Kokuuzou, and if so, then as the above article says, the "void" part of "Kokuuzou" represents "boundless space". So "Kokuu-jin" could be the "void camp" or the "boundless space / infinity camp", or just "The Void" as a proper name. (just my two cents.)
  21. huh, go figure, i had it wrong all this time, but i guess it serves me right for not double-checking. anyways thx for being patient with me :china:
  22. YEAH KOTO~~~ seriously, haven't seen N-O lose a match that bad in a while, especially when you compare how strong he played in the matches at G-ro's website.
  23. so what was the point of doing dash-hotaru in CT, if not going for a high?
  24. corner only.
  25. wait what? in CT, Hotaru was aerial, and you had to block it high... isn't that what Crimson was referring to?
