Well, it may not work well against Ragna (Assuming the Ragna can react to it quickly enough and/or has psychic powers XD), but I could see it work on some Characters that don't have DPs/can't handle Gimmicks well such as; Litchi (Though, she has a DP, it doesn't actually move her, so she may still get it by it.) Tager (If I remember correctly, none of his Super Armored moves can handle Lows, projectile or otherwise.), and Tao (Since without Meter, she's a sitting duck when it comes to Okizemes.) Why do I get the feeling that you'll inevitably come up with something even flashier later down the line? XD

So, I was looking over one of the videos of Kokonoe, and a thought occurred to me: The Distortion Drive where she throws her Lollipop to the ground and summons a black hole, what if while they're falling, it changes the gravity around the opponent so that for the duration of the Distortion Drive the opponent is more greatly effected by her Drive? That's just a wild guess, but what are the chances of this being true? Also, is Kokonoe able to use her Machine Gun without first using the Freeze Ray/Gun?

I won't be getting an import sadly, since I am actually interested in the story, and can't read/speak/understand a lick of Japanese. Personally, I find that the new 4B is a bit more... convenient, for lack of a better word. I mean, being able to do Nu's combos and set-ups without need of spacing 4B so that the first hit wiffs will make Nu much more noobie-friendly, and I believe that many of the pros will be happy with it as well, since it actually seems a bit more usable in Block-Strings and the such.

From what I've seen in videos, yes. She does retain most (If not all) the Gatlings you stated and it applies to both Dia and Luna Forma.
-
Ah... that sounds much less humorous, and much more irritating (If not a bit disturbing. XD). :I
-
Hmm... I don't know. I find it quite humorous when after I'm done giving the opponent a thorough thrashing they blow their lid and go out of their way to try and psyche me out with trash-talk and insults only to end up messing themselves up, but that's just me. XD
-
Huh, that actually makes quite a lot of sense. It's interesting (and a bit annoying) just how many battles someone can win just by Mashing, using obscure starters, and block-strings, and leaving you completely dumbfound of what just occurred. XD
-
That has happened to me before. It's strange that when you play against smart opponents so much that you know exactly what to expect, but then you fight someone of lower level and you're taken by complete surprise. XD

I'm a bit confused, is Kokonoe going to be DLC that we can get right when the game comes out like Terumi or is she something we'll have to wait for like Makoto and Valk? :o -
One other thing that irks me is when the opponent taunts when they're winning (Or even MID-combo) and starts throwing out Throws and DPs like there's no tomorrow when they start losing. I find it to be both insulting and in bad taste. XD On the subject of Corpse Beating, I tend to only do so in retaliation to the opponent doing it. Though, I'm much more of a "I just won, but I'm going to throw you just to rub it in your face" type of person.

...If memory serves, wasn't most of Platinum's over the top stuff toned down in Extended thereby remedying most of that? I shudder to think what goes through the mind of someone who still complains about something that long gone. XD

Blazblue: When I try to use a Distortion Drive and for whatever reason, it doesn't activate. Also fighting Noel online, period. Oh, and the spacing needed to use some of Lambda's combos. Persona 4 Arena: Fighting Yu and having to deal with his pressure, and fighting Elizabeth and having to deal with that giant, laser beam attack. :I Guilty Gear: I haven't played it THAT much, but my only real peeve so far is the fact that Axl Low's long-ranged normals have hurt-boxes. As you can see, most of my gripes are more with specific characters than the game itself. I've only had one bad Mic experience, but I can definitely see how they can become bothersome.

I'm not too sure about Bang in all honesty, I mean, he certainly DOES have some new tricks up his sleeve (Air-Glide, Meterless Umbrella-Kunai Rain, Etc), but it seems that either, 1: They haven't been fully utilized and therefore have untapped potential, or 2: They're somewhat useless/situational. Honestly, I'd say that Bang has a fairly even chance of staying right where he is on the Ladder, or of going up a few Ranks. Only time will tell, I suppose. :I -

Well, Nu seems all around better than Lambda in terms of offense: In Dia Forma, Nu has much stronger Zoning and Lock-Down than Lambda ever had, and in Luna Forma, her damage out put seems to surpass Lambda to some extent (And then there's her OD, though, you could say that every character is technically better than their previous counterparts because of that.) However, in terms of defense, this would be the worst she's ever been from what I've heard: Her only reversal is now limited to Luna Forma (Unless she's in OD) and Gold Burst is gone meaning that she has to rely on the game Mechanics to get out of pressure. All in all, she's a mixed bag, she's become even better at what she excels at, but at the cost of becoming worse at what she already had problems with. -

When you say all of that together at once, it sounds as if Hakumen belongs in a Tier of his own, or an entirely different game. XD -

I see. So, with that in mind, does that mean Amane players will likely be waiting for a balance patch before he moves up in rank? That list... makes so much sense going by the videos I've seen of them fighting, and the VERY frequent combo videos for those six. What I meant by that is that, IMO, Ragna (Brain-dead easy or not) wouldn't be winning Tournaments or seen in competitive play often if it wasn't for the fact that a lot of time has been put into finding what moves/gimmicks/tricks works in what situation and when to use them. And..., on second thought, I agree with you on Tsubaki. -

I see. In your opinion, would you say that Amane still has a lot of untapped potential? Honestly, I'd answer the first as a no (Isn't Jin also up there with those four?), and the second as a yes (Since, IMO, characters like Ragna and Tsubaki would be nigh unusable without their Tech.) Also, doesn't Top Tier just refer to a character that has a lot of tools to deal with other characters and/or has a very consistently high damage output? -

So basically, Tiers are invalid until the actual release? Hmm... I can certainly see why they'd be considered complicated since they both depend on hitting the opponent to get their good stuff going. -

*Is not completely sure if this is the proper place to ask this question, but draws the conclusion that it is, due to the fact that said question IS CP related.* I've been wondering, are characters such as Amane and Izayoi still considered Low-Mid Tier? I've been watching videos of the two recently and from what I've seen, they both seem as if they'd be fairly high Tier, especially Amane once he has level 3 Drills, IMO. Could someone enlighten me as to why they're considered low tier, or if they've moved up a bit? -
From what I've read and have been told: Yes, pretty much. It seems that this time around, they made Nu more focus on offense than defense. However, it also seems that her defensive options ARE her offensive options, if that makes sense.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
ElegantShadow replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Hello, all. Could someone explain to me as to what Chaos's Playstyle is? He seemed a bit Carl-esque until I saw him actually fight, then I thought, "OH! He plays like Shadow Labrys," but then I noticed that Chaos's lizard/daemon/monster thing isn't nearly as useful in combos as Shadow Labry's Persona... So, my question is: What in the world is the point of his playstyle? Rush-down? Mix-up/Oki? Zoning? I'm confused. :I -
[CSE] Lambda Simple Questions And Answers Thread

236A is quite unsafe if used in the wrong situation (I found that out the hard and painful way.), however, let me give you some advice and give you a few examples of places where it would be useful to use 236A: Bare in mind that these are somewhat gimmicky and used to confuse, annoy, and/or troll the opponent. First a quick overview of the move: 236A/Act Parser Zwei could be considered an auto-forward dash or teleport. Strangely enough, it has absolutely no invincibility (Sadly), and is quite punishable due to several factors. However, phases pass the opponent if you're right next to them and it can be used off of just about any attack that connects (Exceptions are Distortion Drives, the other Act Parsers, Spike Chaser, and Sickle Storm.). It's meant/usually used on rare occasions to escape the corner, confuse the opponent, and even to get a surprise attack on said opponent. Now, here are a few attacks that (IMO) utilizes this move to its fullest: 3C: This would be the first one and most basic Normal that most people use it off. ONLY use 236A after this move if you've gotten the opponent in a BlockString, and you want to either want to gain some distance from the opponent without using a Jump-Cancelable move, or if you want to bait a mash, or DP and follow up with 5D or 6D. 5C: This would be (IMO) one of the best Normals to use with 236A. "Why?" you ask? Because, since it hits up to 8 times, and has quite a few Gatlings, the opponent WOULD NEVER see this coming, and it can be used to bait quite a few attacks (Note that you have to be right next to the opponent for this to work). 2B: This would usually be used with 236A in a similar fashion to 3C, you can bait DPs or mashing with it. 5D: It's because of 236A that I find 5D actually useful, it's best to use it after the first hit, since the opponent would likely expect the second hit over 236A. 6D: If you catch the opponent in the air and you want to surprise said opponent, use 236A and attempt to grab him/her. Again, I must explain that these are gimmicks and are to only be used when the opponent wouldn't normally see them coming. Also, bare in mind that these are just what I like to do; I encourage you to try and experiment with what situations would be best to use 236A. Good luck! -
Very well said. If Naoto can at the very least still zone somewhat effectively by the final Loketest, I'll be happy. However, the looming shadow of uncertainty and worry is all but too present when it comes to Loketests. Elizabeth would like to disagree. But yes, I agree with you that her Playstyle would be a bit... underwhelming if they made her more about the Instant Kills and less about the Zoning and Trapping.
