  1. Thanks for hosting, both Bryce and I had a lot of fun.
  2. In an actual match? Are people learning!? I can't wait until we see people go for this kinda stuff more often like some of the Hakumen's do.
  3. I think there's always people that wont watch something until it's on youtube, so I'm sure it would be helpful. That way, they could be easily linked in the video thread as well.
  4. thanks STenSatsu. I've got a lot to think about now. We're not even close to his max potential yet.
  5. Ya I told him that it would be doubtful that anyone would want to play it, but he could always show you how Raiden is supposed to be played. And you think Mitsuru is bullshit....
  6. Bryce wants to come tomorrow. It depends on if he has work due at midnight. If you want to make him feel welcome, play some allstars. You'll see what I mean.
  7. Have you never watched Rocket Power?!? Thanks Ray, that actually makes me feel better... Somehow.
  8. Welcome to our community! Finally, I'm not the new kid. You'll get acquainted with everyone soon enough, especially if you make it to some of our gatherings. Ruben (Chumaralupa) frequently hosts at his apartment in Tempe and there are also some tournaments you can see most of us at occasionally. You can check the original post of this thread for information on that. I'll go ahead and send you a friend request on PSN soon. Mostly I just play Persona or Blaz. And there's no reason to be afraid, we're not that weird. Are we? EDIT: I just tried adding your psn. The ID you entered that shows by your name has one too many 'm's in it. Just thought I would try to avoid any possible future confusion. Be sure to hit sam's club or costco before you go this year.
  9. Vegas, where convenience stores rob you.
  10. That video was really exciting! It's difficult to find the most optimal combos in there. I'm happiest to see OD combos that are easier to confirm into, like off grabs.
  11. I've been doing the whole youtube thing for a few years. Minecraft, COD, shit like that. If you ever need help with vegas or anything, feel free to ask.
  12. I'll go to everything if Ruben can give me a ride. Speaking of getting rides, I miss Justin. I'm also pretty glad that Haz is running 3 games each day. I mean, Sunday doesn't have the biggest games or anything but it's better than p4a being by itself. Barely anyone would show up for that. EDIT: What hopefully happens is that I end up going with Bryce. I'm even trying to get him to practice so that he can start going to Rubens and play something. I keep telling him that it'll be fun either way.
  13. If you hit someone while they are crouching you get to add sweep > B Coup in your combos, which is vital to doing anything good in the corner. On standing opponents it wont work, so get used to telling whether they're standing or crouching. As far as how to hit people when they're crouching, it can be a little bit tricky. Mitsuru's high/low mixup is fairly poor without the use of one more cancels. Because of this, many people choose to mainly crouch block. Many of your good confirms with mitsuru are not based around mixing them up, they usually come from punishing their mistakes. One of the most common ways to do this is with her grab setups. You can feint a sweep (by holding A and B) so that you move forward but don't actually attack, after which you can grab the opponent. Once someone get's used to teching these throws you can feint the sweep and do a fully charged 4B instead. This will fatal counter and do massive damage. I'm not saying that you should only be doing that, but it's a good example of how Mitsuru can get substantial damage. If you want to make use of her high/low mixup, you'll need 50 meter to start. By jump canceling a blocked 2B (Her only jump cancel-able move on block) you can do a j.B > one more cancel > j.B and then continue the combo on the crouching opponent. It's pretty hard to do at first and even harder to get used to using in match.
  14. Thanks for hosting last night, Ruben. It was great getting to play Persona seriously again.
  15. If you meant to say "venezias" then you should bring food back with you. I'm still pissed at myself for leaving my chicken strips in your fridge. EDIT: Now I'm assuming you meant Venezias. Just googled "Vzias AZ" and the first result was your last post.
  16. Well so much for being early, I'm waiting on my ride. I want some persona time damnit.
  17. Mu definitely has a lot of auto-pilot potential. Characters with such solid neutral game tend to be that way, especially when they're easy as a mario game. Is it strange to see footage of a character that you've never played and think, "I could do better"? Whenever I see anyone combo with Azrael, I can't help it.
  18. I have ideas for situational damage that could easily break 10k if they worked, granted it would never happen in a match. We haven't even scratched the surface, in fact we haven't even touched it yet. Until we can play for ourselves, we've only been looking through the glass. There's no doubt that he has probably the highest consistent damage output in the game. The only exception would be standing confirms without meter or weak points. Oh ya, and screw Mu. I picked her up for the first time like 2 days ago for only an hour. I broke 7k meterless without looking anything up or going into challenge. DERP MUCH?!?
  19. I would say a little bit better in some situations. We certainly get more off grabs than she did.
  20. I realize that I might need to clarify, he only gains invincibility while he absorbs projectiles. During long-multi hit projectiles like George and Amane's drill setups Azrael will remain invincible until it ends, as well as gain up to 3 projectiles for himself. Just in case someone read my last post without reading anything beforehand.
  21. I was going to show you a clip as an example, but unfortunately it was lost with Jourdal's channel. Take my word for it, he gains full invincibility. There's been plenty of times when Rachel used George and Growler completely absorbed it. While this was going on, rachel wiffed several moves right through Azrael. This sort of thing happens a lot with Jin's 25 meter ice swords as well. Typically, after someone tries to pressure Azrael but instead ends up wiffing, Azrael can punish with a reverse grab for 3.6kish and put them into the corner.
  22. What time can we start coming over tonight?
  23. I don't know, is 20 minutes too much, not enough? Actually my parents want to watch Skyfall before it leaves Harkins. They're planning Friday or Saturday, so there's like a 50/50 chance I'll either be late or not be able to make it. Hopefully I can get them to consider Saturday. ewww, Marvel. regardless of balancing or being good at it, that game is actually a lot of fun. I wish the netcode was at least half decent, then I would play it. I'll just rely on people showing me stuff at Haz's.
