  1. ^ Yup, it's a full game from what I can tell. The disgaea wiki says... "Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness (Disgaea Dimension 2 in the Japanese version) is an upcoming game for the Playstation 3 as part of Nippon Ichi Software's 20th anniversary. It is slated for release on March 20th in Japan. The game takes place after Disgaea: Hour of Darkness" It also says... "Laharl wakes up... to find that he is in a female body due to unknown circumstances." I can only imagine all of the fun that's going to come from this. While it says it'll be released in March, the English version is expected to be released in August.
  2. Thanks for all of the offers. I was sure Kenja wasn't serious. That was actually one of the funniest well-thought-out posts I've read in a while :P There's two Jimmy's!? Oh, speaking of which, I just found out that NIS is working on another Disgaea game with Laharl as the main character. Even if the game mechanics got better in later games, something was always missing once he was gone.
  3. Ray, I totally understand proper manners and stuff. People expect a "thank you" from someone who borrowed a stick, not "It's the stick's fault I lost". Ruben, Normally I wouldn't have any issues bringing my stick with me to work but just trust me that it's not a good idea this time. Sorry if this might be asking a lot but since I know you have a couple sticks, maybe I could just use one of yours for the tournament? I would feel awkward having to ask someone different before each match. I only ask because you're a bro. And if I place then I'll help with some gas money. Honestly, I should have been doing that earlier anyway.
  4. I believe that the 5AA > 2nd 236C only connects if the first 236C connected when they were higher in the air. If it takes longer for the persona to connect, then you'll recover slightly earlier, allowing the 5AA to connect. things that it always works with (assuming it isn't so late in a combo that it drops after the 5AA) 5AA > 2B > 236C 2A > (5b) > 2B > 236C And with a raw j.214A/B > OMC > 5C > 2B > 236C It's best to just experiment.
  5. Honestly, I don't even use 5D that much anymore. It's great for punishing personas, but it rarely gets me any hits. If you manage to land it then you should just use a regular uncharged 4B to confirm. If you have a lot of trouble doing the full 5DD combo, then I would suggest excluding any parts you are uncomfortable with. Another option would be to set up some easy oki by doing 5DD > 4B > [2B] > 2DD > 4AB > D Bufula. You can follow it with j.B , 2A, sweep, throw pressure/baits, ect.
  6. Sorry for having to ask but would I be able to borrow someone's stick on Sunday? I really don't want to bring my stick with me to work, especially since my boss was nice enough to adjust how long I need to be present. I probably wont be on my computer for a day or two, so I figured I should ask now.
  7. Ahh! I remember. The Lambda who made me hate my life so much that one day. Well, even if the tournament goes later than you want, the only thing you'll lose is 5 bucks. If things run a little smoother this time then I'm sure you'll make it out in time.
  8. Ray, Sunday's your birthday?!? Make it a good one! Ruben, I want that stick... More as a trophy than anything else... So that someday I can say "Hey, Remember when I was good at a fighting game?" ... Mitsuru Bwahahahaha I'm already imagining Eric's Top Tier Mu beating the shit out of me and my potential bad matchups. God, the salt! M19Kamikaze, I want to say you're Justin but I never learned who everyone was on here. Heck the only reason I remember who Nam is is because of his awesome Akihiko avatar. Trying to keep track of all the different Koko avatar's is difficult. And just so you're prepared, Persona did go a little late last time. If I'm not mistaken it went until 6:30-ish last time, maybe 7. But I think that was just because MK took freaking forever and we kept having really long sets. It's really late, I have a migraine, I'm on a ton of meds, and I'm feeling weird overall. I think it's time to get off the internet.
  9. SKD won the whole thing, making everyone look really free. Dave managed to fly out and snag second (He won BBCSE though). Some Chie got third (Colpevole, or something spelled like that?). Also, having LK knocked out early was pretty funny to watch. As soon as it looked like things were going downhill for him the commentators were like "get the face-cam ready!" Honestly though, he lost to chie, which is pretty terrible for mitsuru. They were saying he got 9th or something o_0 And there's some hope that I might be able to make it on Sunday after all. Ruben, if you're going anyway, would you be willing to pick me up from work instead of my house? It's actually a lot closer. On Guadalupe between Rural and Kyrene. I could text you the exact place if you'd like. EDIT: like really... from your place, it's on the way to my house except that it's only like 1/5 as far.
  10. Can anyone find the link for BBCSE at winter brawl? I watched the p4a tournament, but for some reason I can't find BB. It's probably on Stickbug's channel right?
  11. Mitsuru's B Coup (the charged B attack) is usually what you want to go for whenever possible. It adds a lot of extra damage and allows for full corner combos if you're near the end of the stage. Not to mention that it gives you good corner carry and puts you in a favorable position, with options for EX Bufula oki or neutral (which is good for mitsuru). If you're wondering when you can make use of it in combos, you can make it connect anytime after a sweep hits. This is why you mostly only use it on crouching confirms or counterhits (5A CH > Sweep> B Coup). The extra hitstun on crouching opponents allows for sweep (2AB) to connect after 5B. Getting good at confirming when your opponents are standing or crouching makes a big difference, increasing your damage considerably. As a quick example, if you start a blockstring with 5AA (the first two hits of her auto combo) and you realize that they got hit and are crouching, then you can follow it with 5B > sweep > B Coup. If you're having trouble getting used to the charged inputs (you said you were new to the game) then it would be 5AA > 5B (or 6B, 4B) > 1AB (holding down and back allows for the sweep, while beginning to charge your B Coup) > 6B (pressing forward and B releases the charge and makes the B Coup come out). Hope this helped a little bit. If I dumbed things down too much, it's just because this stuff can be confusing to new players, and I don't know any more about your skill level than what you mentioned in your post. If you don't know what the numbers mean (5A, 6B , 2AB) they're just the directions you should be pressing during the move. Take a look at your number pad on your keyboard and they're the same. 5 is neutral (no input), 6 is forward, 2 is down, ect. Again, sorry if I dumbed things down too much. Chances are you knew what I was talking about but it couldn't hurt to go into more detail.
  12. This is one of the most consistently tricky combos that Mitsuru has because it's a combination of managing both height and timing. Unfortunately, the most important thing I can say is to just practice. Eventually you'll get a feel for it and you'll even know when you got it right ahead of time. I would suggest trying a few different things for timing the first 6B (which is the part most people have trouble with). You want to time it so that when your fully charged 6B lands, your opponent will be as high in the air as possible. There is some leniency here but if they are too low then the C Bufula will miss after the sweep. A lot of people find it easier to use a 5B instead of a 6B, but it's essentially the same thing. You could also try not charging the 6B at all. You'll lose out on a little bit of damage but a lot of people have more luck doing this. If you hit them with your 6B (or 5B) when they are fairly high, then they'll usually land right on top of your sweep afterwards, allowing the c bufula to hit. I don't know why you are having trouble with the timing of the second 6B. The timing is incredibly lenient. After the c bufula lands, just hold 6B (then don't forget to start holding 1 for your sweep and charging the B coup). It doesn't usually matter how high they are. In fact, you can wait until they land on the ground and it'll still work perfectly (so long as you held the 6B). Hope this helped a little bit. Just keep practicing and find what works well for you.
  13. Well this sucks. One of my several lifeguard certifications needs to be redone soon and the only days I can get it done are when I'll be out of town or during the next hAZbat. If I don't do this I'll lose $1.50 off my hourly pay and about $100 that day, since they pay for us to do this. So most likely I'll miss the next tournament. Please show up and support it, else I'll not have a stream to rewatch. I'm calling it now... RAY vs ERIC IN THE GRANDEST OF FINALS!!!!
  14. I'm having trouble finding a better upload of the press conference. This player is annoying to use, but it's the best I've found. For anyone wanting to watch the PS4 conference http://uk.gamespot.com/killzone-shadow-fall/videos/sony-playstation-4-press-conference-6404254/
  15. awww.... well the PS4 was officially announced and it looks awesome, surprisingly. The service sony recently acquired for the cloud/streaming looks like the smartest thing they've ever done.
  16. The PS4 press conference starts in 15 minutes or so. I'm bored enough to watch it. http://www.gametrailers.com/netstorage/psmeeting/live.html
  17. Ya, it's every other weekend. Man it really sucks that they split this thing into two days. We wont get back any of the people that usually participate just because they're there anyway. EDIT: This made me smile http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=uDpPvKJSWhc#t=1698s This dude's probably the best Narukami I've seen so far (I might not say that if there was more footage of SKD, who knows) playing against definitely the best shadow labrys I've seen. EDIT, again...: So I got thinking why Japanese players all have insane PSRs and there's a pretty simple reason for it. All of them have a ridiculously good connection to each other. Anything less than a 4 to them is like a 0 to us. That and, well... you know. It's not like there's a shortage of good players over there. Come on google, hurry up with that internet!
  18. Some huge part of me says that it's OK to take a week off from this game, however; my common sense says that I have nothing better to do. I guess I'll legitimately work on my Narukami or something. Who can potentially make it to a few of the p4a tournaments? I'd be fine with any turnout so long as we can make it through the season without dropping tournaments. I'm not the best with names but I remember seeing Nam and Luke once or twice last season. Hopefully Marvin and Roch can make it to at least one as well. If not, maybe I'll come on a saturday and give him 5 bucks to money match me or something. I really don't care, I just want a chance to have a fun set with the two of them sometime. EDIT: I almost forgot. Ray, Mrs. Benson says hi. Annnnd, I learned a fuzzy, whatever that is.
  19. Yesterday was so much fucking fun. Please for the love of god, everyone come again next time. And Ray, I'll be talking about your Labrys match with Gabe for like the next year.
  20. I've got nothing going on today, so you can pick me up whenever. Are you planning on doing any casuals after the tournament or just leaving? And now I have a taste for grilled chicken on a toasted sandwich.
  21. Oh practical mugen loops, I'll miss you dearly.
  22. Ya, my parents have to go that way for something around 6:45. I'll just have them drop me off on their way and wait around until you're open. By the way, We're doing tons of persona tonight... Right? We should be ready for Sunday. My dream for this season is to have at least one tournament have a Tuscan-Free G-Finals. EDIT: I'll be sure to bring my stick, ps360+, and USB cable.
  23. Bryce recently got horribly sick. Will you have any extra room in your car on Sunday, Ruben?
  24. I said it was too. I was just saying that the other one was my favorite, not cooler. And as a former competitive simmer I can really appreciate how long they held their breath. One dude managing to set that up and hold his breath is ok, but how the heck did they get all of them to?
