To make 3C > AC whiff > 5C > 6B work from any distance you can input the AC just a miniscule amount late after the 3C. 3C knocks them down and backwards, so you're letting them fly a tiny bit backwards before affecting them with magnetism. This works even at pointblank range for me. Just using AC right away will fail because they "bounce" off you and too far away.

Are you talking about the startup or the speed of the projectile? To me the startup seems longer and the projectile seems faster. (Divine Light of Punishment is definitely much faster). Honestly they could be exactly the same and the increased speed of the game is just giving me the wrong impression. During OD be prepared to just block until it's gone. During OD her lasers have barely any startup at all so she can just go ham with it Tested a few things in Training mode. She can still do 4 hit Steins, but she has to hold the button for like a second which still makes it impractical for most oki situations. If the steins is already there should could potentially use it. You could probably just sledge it anyway though. My overall opinion is that this is still likely one of Tager's worst matchups. You're nearly helpless without Spark Bolt, although Spark Bolt is a much greater threat in CP thanks to our 45 degree version so that helps. Even when she's threatened by Spark Bolt though, her normals just destroy you.

Weird, I used this all the time in CSE and always just barely got an instant block. Maybe they were just slow to DP. Yeah it seems pretty bad now. Don't see the good Jins using it for anything anymore. The ground version doesn't keep you locked very long either (on block I mean). He has fuzzy setups in the corner with Hizangeki as a surprise overhead at the end now.

Just found this by complete accident and it's pretty fucking awesome: If you bait a Soutenjin, block the first hit the you can forward tk 360C him out of the second one. Swag. Alternatively, just jump forward after blocking the first hit (the second hit misses you, amazingly) and grab him after you land. You can't grab him without magnetism otherwise unless you walk forward a tiny bit, but that seems needlessly difficult to me when you can just jump. Terumi does have an overhead, and a fairly good one at that, it's just a bit unorthodox. He does it by tking j2D after jc'ing hits in pressure strings. The only hits he can jc on block are 5A, 6A, 5C (the first hit), and 2C. He's + if you block the j2D, enough + that you won't be 360'ing him. You can get him if you IB though, and 720 works regardless. Note that that only applies if he attempts to continue pressure. He has the option of just backing off. As his 5C has 2 hits, it's really easy to reliably IB the second hit so make sure to do so at all times. If you IB the second hit of 5C you can 360A him out of 2C, but not a 5D. His 2D is super easy to sledge. He probably won't bother using this much against Tager at all. His command throw doesn't have any immunities at all. Counter that shit or 360 it.

Grinded this MU pretty often against Nemesis at casuals yesterday. Okay, her steins explosion may be essentially defanged as an oki tool due to it's "casting" animation combined with it's lack of multi-hits, but she now has some crazy good setups, especially cross-ups, with her newly increased laser speeds. Be careful. Her lasers are good at misdirecting your actions and causing you to get hit at times you least expect it. She can actually set these up mid-pressure string now. I'm not a mu player so I don't know the setups exactly, but they're definitely there. This matchup plays less like a hardcore zoner and more like a powerful melee character with some very nasty tricks.

You can only do the 5A followup to Gashou if you confirm the combo up-close, at least that's my experience with it. For instance this will fail: 5B 5C 3C Gashou xx dash 5A It fails because the 5C (or any other secondary hit) will push you too far away. You have to immediately confirm into 3C. This works, but not at long range. Best chance of working is on a dash-in 5B 3C Gashou xx dash 5A Course I'm hardly an expert on it yet. I still fail it more often than succeeding. Any insight would be welcome. -
GGs. I'm actually pretty burnt out on the game right now. Had casuals today so I've been playing the game for like 15 and half hours straight. It'd be even better if I didn't fuck it up every single time. Supposed to RC on the second hit not the first one lol. It's an ambiguous cross-up too if I do it right.

Don't ever Sledge her projectiles. That's exactly what she wants. It achieves nothing and leaves you wide open for the teleport follow-up. You can't safely Asledge her multi-hit version. You'll get caught by the follow-up hits. There are a couple of exceptions, mainly being her corner oki with the multi-hit Sonic Saber. If you tech and immediately Asledge you can CH her and the projectiles pop instantly as a result. You can also usually get away with Asledge if you react to a Sonic Saber during her pressure strings. Just don't sledge the many sonic sabers she'll be throwing out fullscreen during neutral. She's capable of doing a fullscreen saber+teleport that requires you to block the projectile normally before blocking the cross-up. You cannot 360 or 720 her out of this. Her oki in the corner that involves the multi-hit version of the Sonic Saber + instant overhead dash-ins in GA mode. It resets you if you don't tech and pressures you if you do. Teching quickly and Asledging can CH her out of this though I'm not sure if it's 100% reliable. Difficult to 360 in this matchup. Her movement options take her off the ground really often. Try to counter her with normals instead. Her movement is somewhat vulnerable to 360C though when she's in GA mode. Important: 720 loses to her reversal super, even if you use it second. She has bad reversal options, abuse this. Pre-50 heat she's basically helpless on wakeup. I'm experimenting with this, haven't yet found a use for it but: anything > spark bolt > jB jC > land and do stuff ---- This is a starter everyone should know how to combo on imo. Easy Spark Bolt (straight) > 2C > Asledge > 3C > AC whiff > 5C > 6B > jC > jD > GP DM: 3035 HG+21 Hard Spark Bolt (straight) > 5C > 6B > delay jC > jD > land sjA > jC > jB > GP DM: 3044 HG +21 Tech Trap Setup: .. > sjA > jC > SMP jD > land > AC. I wouldn't recommend these kinds of setups much anymore cuz AC is a pretty unhelpful starter now. Combo is fairly hard, but so satisfying when it works. ---- This is really cool though: Instant GP Cross-up Gimmick, only ever use this with 50 heat or more (either to RC and reset pressure or combo with RC into about 4k) ... > AC > GF whiff > tk GP / GP RC > stuff. GP RC is a pretty good starter. There's a good chance we can do other cross-up shenanigans with this. ---- CT Combo CT > 6C > Asledge > 5A > 5B > 5C > 6A > 3C > AC Whiff > 5C > 6B > jC > jD > GP [DM: 3874] HG: +14 (-25) I feel certain this can be better. I haven't had any problems with netplay. Obviously there were plenty of players I couldn't fight due to bad delay/connection error but that's just to be expected imo. So long as I stayed at 2bars or higher it was smooth sailing for the most part.

It's difficult to safely Asledge his projectile near the start of it's momentum. It goes too slowly and it will hit you after your projectile-guard frames are gone. Be prepared for tons of instant overheads.

I'd really like to implore Arcade Lobby people to stop getting mad if: 1) Someone takes your spot in the cabinet after you lose. 2) Someone doesn't rematch you after you win/lose The entire point of arcade lobby is to allow a lot of players to all mingle together. If you want a traditional netplay experience go to the player matches! Please stop sending me nasty messages. GGs brkrdave, TD, nemesis, Chickzama, Hollowbuns, TheFatalEdge, someone else I can't remember.

You can use sledge to get out of drill oki but don't even think about it during neutral! He has a fullscreen low that pretty much negates your ability to Voltic Charge. 6A is basically useless too. You need patience in this MU to get in on him. Moment he's got his back to a wall he's going to try to super jump fab hob away. This is annoying cause we usually can't get our spark bolt charged in time to deal with it due to all his long range attacks.

Unfortunately they did not have 4-cheese available so I got another pepperoni. Please bring soda if you can, I forgot to grab some at the store. I also got paper plates, cups, and towels so we should be good. By the way, I don't think it's been mentioned yet but we're planning to start around noon. But feel free to come later if you can't get there at that time. We'll probably be there for a pretty long time. Possibly til like 9 or so. CP hype and all that. -

5a 5b snags Jin's backdash on GF oki, which makes it pretty sweet. (the 5a hits and the 5b combos). He's capable of avoiding this if he delays his backdash a tiny bit though, so 5C is still a more reliable way of countering backdash. Not to mention 5C confirm leads to pretty good combos. We can still safely 5A and block any of his DPs. (4A) Upon further inspection, we can no longer safe-poke his DP D and I'm not entirely sure why. The frame data may be incorrect for either GF, Tager 5A, or Hirensou. Expect lots of passive Jin spacing and zoning. He's got no need to close the gap on you. Be very careful with Voltec Charge because Ice Car hits low now and can CH you if you use it too much. We can 360 ice car now! You can counter it during pressure strings with 360 or 720. As for everything else, this MU is basically the same.
