  1. I have a significant amount of free time tonight, if anyone wants a set.
  2. That's pretty neat. It's likely due to the new stun proration system. I don't think Arakune was allowed to air tech so you get a huge amount of + on your oki to setup scary cross-ups.
  3. Put fucking numbers on the Tension gauge, please, ArcSys. I'd rather they did away with the weirdass Guts/homogenized life totals as well. The only reason I see for is that GG was old enough that perhaps 4/5 digit numbers weren't allowed when it was first created. Sort of like how all the old games have caps of 99 on them. The Guts stuff only seems to be there to give the game some more tension towards the end of the round because people barely don't die from stuff, but that's exactly how it works in BB too without all that crap (the life gauge is simply "denser" towards the end in BB). Give everyone unique life totals. And if you insist on a Guts-like system maybe instead when they get low on HP their guard gauge starts getting lower? That would make the guard gauge even more relevant. I know GG players are all defensive about all the systems in this game, but this is seriously something that's just an incredibly over-convoluted way of achieving something simple. There's no actual gameplay related to it, it's all in the background. I'm sure if you wanted to do the math you could find everyone's "calculated" life total.
  4. I vastly prefer that launcher's require a good confirm. They made this change for BB in CS2 and it was much better. Now normal/weak confirms got properly rewarding combos and only the good confirms got you a good meterless-launcher combo. For instance I'd be fine with comboable Dusts if like, you could only do them off CH 5HS/6HS something really powerful and unlikely. The thing is, Dust combos seem pretty shitty to me compared to just doing your character's powerful combos instead. Also, as a newcomer to GG, I don't see what people's problems with FBs are. Are there some that are insanely cheap or something?
  5. lolwut? I've noticed that CP chains look like they're more...clunky? Like the bite-down animation is very clearly animated now, and I think it increases the amount of time Hazama is punishable on whiffs. This seems like it'll force us to be a bit more cautious with our chains (which, admittedly, is probably an appropriate minor nerf) p.s. I'd really love a "slightly downward angle" chain cancel. I wonder if the new j4D~D can be cleverly delayed to achieve this.
  6. Whoa, that's a big difference. j4D~D used to be perfect for setting up Gasaishou. I think if you tried it with the way it is in CP you'd end up flying into their head instead of going back onto the ground. That's seriously like a perfect 0 degree horizontal in that video.
  7. I wonder if it's there to slightly nerf his ability to instantly put himself back onto the ground. oh well If someone has a video example I'd appreciate it. --- Worst case scenario would be if they redid his movement algorithm for D cancels and all of them are slightly different now. That would fuck my brain
  8. What I really wanted to see is whether not Haku-men can make a permanent Fumajin on it lol. It would be like offering a cookie to Amane players then Haku-men bursts through the door and swipes it out their hands at the last second.
  9. GGs JoJo. Can't believe I got IK'ed twice on my oki rofl.
  10. It'll autoblock for me if he goes for a crossup right?
  11. Destroy someone's Hakumen on Tager Next round, picks Valkenhayn. This oughta be good.
  12. Ohgod, Hazama finally passed Relius on "Most Used" for my CSE card. RIP Relius. I'm on netplay checking out the rooms right now.
  13. Holy shit like 8 2bar rooms for me to choose from.
  14. I said "almost" for a reason I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Izayoi getting some buffs in the future though. With regards to the teleports, I get the distinct impression there's something really really awkward about using them that's difficult to discern at a glance. Otherwise we'd be seeing them everywhere.
  15. I'm sure plenty of people can win with her. That doesn't make her high/average-tier. Tiers are only relevant in a theoretical situation that two players of the exact same skill are playing. And then it gets undermined even further by MUs being far more important. Though despite saying that, bottom-tier is the best. When you win you can rub it in their face and when you lose you can be like "Heh I almost beat you with a C-tier" Not to mention you almost always get stupidly buffed in the next iteration.
  16. Oy, don't turn this bleedin' thread British.
  17. Same OS. Same Processor (exact same one, at that) Same browser. *nerd brofist*
  18. That's still good news. Just having to worry about it once per session is better than worrying about it all the time. Come to think of it I'm pretty sure CSE remembers your selection in the offline modes. It just doesn't in online lobbies for some reason... I just hate having Auto be the default. The default should never be an option that gets you same stage/bgm every single match. Obviously that's only if you play the same characters but come on, this is a fighting game! Of course people are going to pick their mains over and over! Not to mention there's a good number of songs you'll never listen to if you always pick Auto. /rant
  19. I can't remember which iteration Jin says it in, but when teching after getting comboed Jin would say "This isn't fun at all!" and it literally sounded like he was pissed off and salty. I loved that. I think it was Jin vs. Ragna
  20. God damn, this sounds like I need to work on getting a valid passport in order for next UMAD...
  21. He was hella scared.
  22. God damn all this talk of mash is making me hungry. I love good mash. Seriously though, I think "predictive mashing" is totally an acceptable thing. It's just another facet of yomi. You're throwing your stake behind a chance that a move will get you a reversal. But the move needs to come out as soon as possible on a frame gap you can't predict so you have to mash. If you think you're going to get frame trapped, so you stop mashing and block it, that's a sign that your defenses are adaptive. When I'm defending I frequently mash directionals without mashing the buttons. It lets me do stuff with one button if I think a good opportunity will arise, without making me do shit I don't mean to. Perfect example is 720. I spin the control stick often while in blockstrings (yes, you can block gapless strings this way), and hold my finger over the C button ready to push it at a moment's notice. The bad kind of mashing is the pushing tons of buttons because you just hope something will happen. Those are the people that get CH all day on wake-up/frame gaps. Those people suck at hit confirming too and always put a huge number of unnecessary A pokes in their "combos." They're also easy to get purple throws on. The difference is simply whether or not you have a plan. For instance if I mash DPs with 50 meter I'm fully prepared to RC if I get blocked and proceed to put my opponent in pressure. I'm not mashing it with reckless abandon and just praying it'll work out.
  23. GGs Skeletal, Dairy, other people.
  24. Hopping on P4A for a while.
