Bullet self-improvement and user video thread
RurouniLoneWolf replied to Prototype909's topic in Bullet
hmmmm, you let that Kokonoe teleport out of your Oki pressure for free a lot in that match at the end. Consider, doing 2A > React to whether they teleported or not for a while. If they teleport, punish. If they don't, keep going with pressure. This will make them more cautious about teleporting and once they're cautious about teleporting, you can start mixing in going for your other oki setups. -
Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
RurouniLoneWolf replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Finally, gameplay footage of my girl Nanase putting in work. Yes! Also, I like how her gameplay video has my 2 future mains facing off. It's a sign! She's looking like the speedy character that I expected and we were told she would be. Good normals. That normal or move where she projects a gust of wind forward around her arm looks unsafe up close though. Might need to space it well. Also dat console opening with the anime music -
Hmmmm, that footage showed some interesting things - The special that pulls people in has a noteworthy amount of startup. You'll probably always want to use Koro to cover the gap in combos and blockstrings or you'll eat a jab or DP to the face. - Now this really peaked my interest because it's a much more subtle point in previous gameplay videos. Basically, after Koro does an attack or if Ken moves swiftly, it takes some time for Koromaru to get back to Ken's side as he's walking back. If Ken gets hit (at least by an All Out Attack, need more footage to confirm getting combo'd in general) during this time, Koromaru seems to stop walking back and will wait until he's no longer in hitstun to continue walking back. This has 3 very interesting consequences as was seen in the video It's possible for Ken to wakeup without Koromaru at his side. May or may not be a big deal depending on if Koromaru has any good defensive tools at his disposal As Koromaru is walking towards Ken, Ken players can catch opponents by surprise by ordering Koromaru to attack Might be possible to do some partial Carl and Nirvana sandwich pressure by dash jumping or quick escaping to the other side of your opponent? Needs more footage and testing Of course, game still in development. They might alter how Koromaru coming back to Ken works in the next 2 months so who knows.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
RurouniLoneWolf replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Sweet. I'm looking forward to getting some hands on time with Xrd May. It would be pretty neat if we could also do a small Xrd side tourny like they did with BBCP at Anime Expo last year, preferably at Evo since that's the one I'm going to. -

RurouniLoneWolf replied to BladeOfJustice7's topic in International
I heard talk of some people might be going to cirque du soleil or might be coming to Foonzo or both. Not sure. Either way, I'm sure if you come to Foonzo, there'll at least be some people around wanting to get some last minute emergency practice in. I'll be swinging by Foonzo around 9-10 tonight as well. Just need to eat supper and do some last minute training mode in BB,P4A,GG and SG for tomorrow first. -

RurouniLoneWolf replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Thanks for all the info Sourenga. So that Nanase special has 2 follow ups. Interesting. I'm having trouble picturing the overhead followup but this might open up the possibility of starting pressure from this special. Also, liking Nanase's VA. -

Big Thanks to Kurushii for putting up this scan! That Nanase super/EX move looks good. Time to brainstorm how I'm going to apply it Even better. Narukami with Sword Dragoon bits -
Just leaving this quote here with Rise info from the Siliconera Hands-On article.

AchedSphinx pretty much covered most of what I wanted to say about Ken's possible cons. The most important con he covered probably being that the hitbox on his moves might have great reach but might leave much to be desired in space covered. For instance, his DP already looks like it could have dead zone issues. Another thing to worry about is how well these moves will fair in pressure. Some of these moves might be great for poking around in neutral at the right ranges but be terrible on block up close. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure someone will mess around with him extensively at Evo. Maybe me if I'm not too busy messing around with Labby-chan, Chie and Rise? My memory is hazy but I'm pretty sure Ken was actually an AI set to max setting. I wouldn't read too much about what you can and can't do with Koro from that
-
late thoughts on yesterday's stream - Koromaru's bar really is health meter. Luckily, it looks like it's possible to combo both Ken and Koromaru at the same time, at least a bit, which allows for taking off good chunks of meter at a time. Still concerned that this leaves the possibility for people to make infinite blockstrings but I'll be optimistic for now. - Ken's uppercut that launches him into the air has mad corner carry. - Rise's music notes stay on the screen a long time but it's unclear if she has anything to pop them from a distance. Maybe persona normals? Still, this could lead to some interesting oki setups at least. Wonder if it does a decent amount of chip - Rise has a tiny projectile that she can fire, which I'm guessing is Arrow Rain? Only really saw it once so hard to say anything about it currently. Might compliment the green laser persona attack well - Guessing Risette field is the Ouroboros super we saw in the scans. Glad it's not an awakening super because this might prove to be a vital super for her overall gameplan. - Risette: Live On Stage awakening super is unblockable grab and did about 3.3-3.9k when they came close to getting a perfect score on the rhythm game. Seems like it can be DPed on reaction to the super flash though (First Brutal Impact, now this. You just can't let me have anything nice, can you ASW!!!) Starting to form a gameplan for Rise in my head. Still, I would've liked a detailed breakdown for her. Oh well, we'll just have to see what we can dig up at Evo.

sure. They don't actually give a link but it should be on their usual twitch channel

[P4AU] Chie Satonaka Gameplay Discussion
RurouniLoneWolf replied to Colpevole's topic in Chie Satonaka
Chie's lack of range options feels like an intentional design choice to me. Don't think ASW will change this. I think they want players to have good movement to succeed with Chie. -
Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
RurouniLoneWolf replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Probably don't have time to even further investigate a PC version at the moment. The PS3 version needs to be going gold pretty soon so their focus is probably that right now. Hmmmm, to be honest, I'm not really sure when they're going to get time to investigate a PC version since after the PS3 version releases, they might need to focus on Dengeki's console release if Sega is having them do it. -

[P4AU] Chie Satonaka Gameplay Discussion
RurouniLoneWolf replied to Colpevole's topic in Chie Satonaka
Not a single thing has been said in this thread in almost 4 months so here's my first failed attempt at getting discussion going ^,^ Thoughts on the Kirisame vs Tahichi set? The new 2C dash cancel is looking to be useful in certain midscreen combos now. -
hmmm, I've been reading this a lot recently about Minazuki and after watching Minazuki footage for the last 6ish months, I have to say that this isn't really an issue. Spoiler tagging this since this ended up kind of long. The Dustloop wiki has been updated recently and pretty much has all the data now by the way. Depends. If you get hit by his Ds that launch you, he can combo into his teleport and he'll get both the combo and then pressure afterwards. The rest of his persona normals are iffy and may have spacing and CH requirements for comboing. But even if the persona attack doesn't lead into anything on hit, they still do a noteworthy amount of damage every time you get hit, making it undesirable to get him by them. On block, they don't lead to anything but to block them requires playing in a more passive manner and playing passively is what Minazuki players want because it makes it even easier for them to play footsies.
