  1. Off topic I know, but...Someone should make a fighting game where you create your own character. Just have a giant movepool of normals, specials, and supers that you can pick from. Movement options (dashes, jumps, backsteps), health, etc. are all customizable too. Then implement a points system where good moves and attributes cost more than average or sucky ones (also restrictions on certain builds, e.g. "You can't have a super like Legacy Edge AND an unblockable move on the same character"). If a particular tool is deemed OP then it can be patched to cost more or have its attributes tweaked. If you don't like the character you made then you can just tweak them. I would make so many waifus (cosmetic customization options are a must. Think of how much money you could make by releasing huge packs of cosmetic items as DLC.)
  2. What the hell? They were already N starters. The only thing below that is S and VS. If this change is true then characters with reliable ground mixup/standing overheads just got way better in the metagame. People who rely on jump attack/low mixup are going to be doing less damaging versions of throw combos (minus the ~1500 dmg that throws add). Thas crazy.
  3. If they look at character performance in Japanese tournaments/Dan Ranking/etc when balancing a character then Goro playing Makoto might actually be the worst thing for us. They probably look at Makoto and think, "These handful of players can do well with her, so we don't really need to changer her that much. Hell, look what Goro is doing to people. She might even need nerfs."
  4. I'm curious as to when her guardpoint kicks in. it definitely matters, because it will determine if she can still beat meaty ground attacks on wakeup. Right now her DP's startup is 14 frames. If the guardpoint takes like 4 or more frames to kick in then most people can option select her DP if they don't have access to a safejump setup. Also I wonder if planner/developer hate actually does lead them to make some characters terrible. If that's the case I'm going to hire a bunch of prostitutes, dress them up like Makoto, and have them visit everyone on the Project BB Team (female members will get male prostitutes, etc.). Important members will get multiple "visitors." It would also make for some interesting work conversation the day after.
  5. The only problem I have with Azrael is his backdash. If you already have a DP you don't also need the best backdash in the game, with very little recovery making it very difficult to punish. Having to worry about rolls, quick wakeup, growler, and backdash make midscreen oki a hella diffcult guessing game because the combination of growler and backdash beat most of my options. If they made his backdash have more recovery or more distance so that it was just a means of escape rather than: Dodge their oki attempt > counterattack with Gustav/Jacket Kick, then it'd be okay. But again Makoto and Izayoi are cabbage and I'd much rather them be buffed than to have Azrael (or anyone else for that matter) nerfed. Just make every character ridiculous and fun. Also if a Makoto out there has a way to deal with all of Azrael's options on wakeup, please educate me.
  6. I guess you guys are right about the OD thing if you're midscreen or farther. I see the 6B thing as a buff so far. I always hate it when my meaty 6B is a little late and they tried to jump out or backdash on wakeup...then they instantly tech instead of eating a combo. Also I hope we get some kind of hilarious loop with this.
  7. Can't you still combo into j.D during every scenario that you would do the j.B > jc > OD? Or am I missing something? Plus I rarely used the jc > OD thing, so at least it's not a significant nerf to me.
  8. Well the j.B > j.D gatling could let us do B Asteroid Vision > j.B > j.D, since you don't have to jump cancel the j.B anymore. I don't know if we can do anything with that though lol.
  9. They really didn't nerf Makoto imo. Those changes barely affect her (although I do have to see how the j.B > j.D cancel works out). It's just that they didn't buff her either T.T Also... "Origins – Is now invincible on startup, and has armor midway through as opposed to being fully armored. Decreased knockback and untechable time." Looks like they've been reading my posts.

  12. Yep Makoto is a tough one to win with. And you played her during Extend? *Cringes* You poor soul. That was her worst iteration. Lol she was literally the worst character in the game (tied with Tsubaki). That may have been why you were getting stomped. I've been there too. When you do get CP I'd be more than happy to spar with you, if you still want to use Makoto.

  14. I only started playing during the end of Continuum Shift 2's run while having zero experience in playing fighting games. Given that you have lots of previous experience with fighters I don't think it would take you that long to get to a decently competitive level. I would say that winning definitely hinges on what character you pick though. If you want an easy time, pick a good character. I remember it being really easy to beat the average netplayer with Platinum and Ragna after I had only been playing for a couple of months. However it took me over a year to get to the point that I could consistently beat people with Tsubaki or Makoto (and even then good players still crushed me). Who did you use during your stint in extend? Also you should definitely wait until the US release in March.
  15. I can do the Noir loop just fine. It's the astral link at the end that's the hardest part, especially when you're trying to do it in a real match.
  16. I still say that GA noir loops out of the top of the screen > Strikefall > Astral is the coolest thing Izayoi can do. Will record if I ever land it on anyone lol.

  18. Why the hell does Slaver-Trans Am cost any stars to begin with? You already spend 50 heat on it AND it's not even that great of a distortion because it only lasts like 3 seconds. Even if you have a full rack of stars...you might spend one or two getting in. Then you spend a couple of stars on the combo that leads into whatever TransAm setups you have. Then TransAm takes 4. Realistically, you'll be left with 0 to 2 stars for your TransAm combo + oki afterwards. Most likely though you'll have zero or not have enough stars to use TransAm in the first place....

  21. Lots of things in this game are unnecessary. 9k+ Overdrive combos are unnecessary. Inescapable Black Hole resets are unnecessary. Vortex wolf mixup is unnecessary. She can already get small amounts of charge during her combos? Great. Then these could stack, giving her even more charge. Plus the command throw does 900 damage and leads to another Oki situation that could reverse momentum. Plus how is Tsubaki having more charge unnecessary when it could affect the outcome of a match?

  23. Dude...Hitting the opponent with a non D Special should give Tsubaki a little bit of charge. If each special gave her 1/3 of a stock when she landed them, then her midscreen BnBs (I think) would give her one stock by doing 236x > 214x > 22x. That way she could get stocks by comboing and being offensive in addition to the stocks you gain from charging in neutral. Or she should just have a comboable move that gives her one or two stocks but ends the combo (Imagine something like Ragna's 22C from CS, but it gives her stocks). Yo, one of the developers probably pitched this idea for Tsubaki, but instead they used it to build Izayoi.
  24. Didn't know where to ask this, but how do you chat when you're in a player match room? I'm talking about the little box in the bottom left corner. I pressed all the buttons it had listed on the screen but nothing happened.
