  1. Come to think of it...something kind of weird like this happened to me too. The stage Old Gate...that's unlocked from the start, right? I shouldn't have to do anything special to get that stage if I am correct. ...But for some reason I don't have the stage anymore...I remember picking it a good amount because I liked it. Then I took about a month break from BB and it's not there anymore??? I've gone through the stage select screen plenty of times, reading each name and looking at each picture carefully to make sure I am not missing it, but it simply isn't there. However, the stage IS still on my Japanese copy of the game...could that be it???
  2. Could someone please explain stagger pressure to me in great detail? Like I get the basic premise of it (you do a string of frametraps, but sometimes you reset pressure with dash 5A/2A instead of doing the next move in the string), but what are you trying to accomplish with stagger pressure. Where does high/low/throw mixup come into play during stagger pressure? How are you supposed to confirm hits when you are leaving gaps in between your attacks? How are you supposed to handle people who hold barrier? Where does your damage come from if you are pressuring and resetting mostly with jabs? I see other players doing this all the time and messing people up with it. But whenever I try to do it....it just seems shitty lol. Now occasionally it does work. However, most of the time my opponent mashes/jumps out, or they are so content in blocking that I feel I have to do some sort of mixup on them (or they'll just keep blocking forever...and with no Guard Libra/Primers they don't really get punished for blocking infinitely). I play Makoto by the way. And I play online mostly if that.
  3. What would you do to Tsubaki's drive specifically to make her more fun and unique, chzchan? FYI she was my main in Extend for a while before I switched to Plat....then to Makoto. That's why I'm taking an interest in this conversation lol.
  4. I completely agree with you two on Tsubaki. They can do so much more with her drive. I personally think they should give the drive versions of her specials unique and useful properties (like head/body/foot/projectile/throw invul, return 22D unblockable?, reflect projectiles, plus frames on block, crossup 214D?, instant overhead?) instead of just being combo tools. I would also like to see her get a move that costs multiple stocks, but have adequate utility or damage for the resources it costs. Like Hakumen's Zantetsu or Tsubaki for example. That way Tsubaki players would have more of a reason to get lots of stocks, and her gameplan would actually revolve around getting and using stocks ------------------- Another thing I thought about is toying with the recovery frames of her charge cancels. Specifically, making it so that charge cancelling with lower amounts of stock (0 stocks - 2 stocks) gives you heavy to slight plus frames, while doing the same thing with more stocks (2+ stocks - 5 stocks) would leave Tsubaki at frame disadvantage. But IDK that seems tricky to implement
  5. Dude, Amane Nishiki is your man. He is all of those things you described turned up to eleven. He can abuse people from across the screen with a frilly pink scarf, and even his super-chip-damage drill move has unpunishable range and recovery (the drill is made of a frilly pink scarf too, don't worry). Plus he's always graceful and fabulous no matter what you are doing. He even has a special move nicknamed "The Fab Hop."
  6. Makoto main since Extend here. Quite frankly, I don't see why people complain so much about nerfs when your character is still playable. As long as your main doesn't get debuffed down to joke tier, then you can still win. And honestly, that's where part of the fun in this game comes from (for me at least). I like playing against characters that are better than mine because you have to play really solidly or be very clever if you want to do well. Your opponent has a significant advantage over you. Are you good enough to win?
  7. Better mixup, more damage = R.I.P.? If that was the case, then CP1 Hakumen would have been the shittiest character in the game I'm still just waiting for them to make Makoto's 5B 8 frames and make Ragna's 5B 9 frames. It's just a justice that needs to be done. It shouldn't have more reach AND be faster.
  8. Former EX Ragna main here. In the combo you posted, it looks like you're having trouble with comboing after Belial Edge. With that move you have to adjust your aerial height with a super jump after 6A I belive (instead of a normal jump). If I remember correctly, being too low after the j.C > j.D > jc > j.C can cause j.214C to miss your opponent completely. You also might try to decrease the number of air hits you do. Like just do j.C > j.D > j.214C; ....or j.C > jc > j.C > j.214C. Problems with combos can be pretty specific, so if you have difficulty with any other combo pathways then it would be a good idea to post them too. Good luck.
  9. As CP1.1 Makoto, get at least 3500 damage from a 3C at round start position against Ragna (non CH, 0% Heat, no Overdrive). P.S. I really like the idea of this thread...*sigh* Oh Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008. How I remember you fondly.
  10. ^ lol ranked...Is anyone even on there anymore? The only thing I can seem to find is a few player match rooms. GGs Dark Edge and DJ Blactricity
  11. Video is too choppy to get a sense of the exact frames of the tech (whether it's plus or not). But that would be freaking awesome if it was. But from what I can tell, it appears to be (speculation here guys) slightly negative or really close to even frame advantage.
  12. 4k meterless off a corner throw? 5k meterless off corner 5B? Swag midscreen corner carry combo? Things are looking fun all of a sudden.
  13. Dear lord...this thread. Alright Shadow Claw Breaker, I should be on this Sunday if that's good for you. Trying to whip my Izayoi back into shape.
  14. So..."blockstring stuff" > j.2C into j.C/2B/Throw/6B mixup is looking hella tasty...unless j.2C still has it's awful landing recovery that is. We could actually have scarier mixup now. I couldn't tell from the video if j.2C had landing recovery or not, because they never did j.2C > *land* > stuff. And about this whole "Just Damage" thing, since OD automatically fills the meter to its fullest does that mean it always gets the Just Damage bonus?
  15. Oh shoot GGs to everyone I've been playing this week lol. Getting used to this game and Yukari has been tough so far. Burst > Awakening Tornado Super > Victory???
  16. One is asking you to create game a save file for the game. (IIRC there should be numbers in these pop up boxes telling you how many megabytes it takes) The second one is asking if you want to create a save file for your replays. Note: I don't actually read Japanese, so I could be wrong here. But these two pop up screens have appeared in every ASW game I've played, so I assume that's what they are here.
  17. Hmm I'll try that. While there are some things I think you have to FAction on reaction like Sho's teleport or Yu's B Raging Lion in pressure (still new here, so there might be other ways to deal with it that I don't know about) I can probably just press B and D together to get F-Action and still be okay. Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------- Okay I have a question now. When I downloaded the game off of the JP PSN store, it came with like 6 other files besides the main 13GB game. I couldn't read what they were so I have no earthly idea what I downloaded. One had a picture of Adachi on it, but I don't think it unlocked him for me, did it? I sure as hell can't select him in the character select screen, so I'm curious as to what that file with the Adachi picture on it was.
  18. I'm new to Persona, so all of the macros did throw me off, because you literally can't map them all to your trigger buttons. Plus I use a different layout for the square, triangle, cross, and circle buttons...so I can't throw and AoA easily since the A&B/C&D buttons aren't right next to each other anymore. Anyways my layout is A = Square B = Circle C = Triangle D = Cross (or X or whatever you want to call it) C+D = R1 (Throw) A+B = L1 (All Out Attack) A+C = R2 (Evasive Action) B+D = L2 (Furious Action) A+C+D = L3 (Burst) A+B+C = R3 (One More Cancel) R1 is my throw tech button in all of my other games, so I needed that one to be consistent. Having evasive action on R2 makes airdash > airturning easier. Burst is the same as it is in Blazblue's standard layout. The only awkward thing about this layout, for me, is One More Canceling
  19. Alright, so what do we do against people who simply block all of your arrows in neutral until they get midrange on you? I'm finding it difficult to start pressure because you can't use her arrows or persona to approach (outside of 214214C/D and One More Cancelling stuff). I've been testing out stuff in training mode with 2B. If you predict an opponent's jump and do 2B > 9 > 5B.....2B > j.5B will come out if they got hit, allowing you to combo. But if they blocked it then 2B > 5B will come out (still not sure what to cancel 5B into here though) 2C could let you frametrap or start pressure if they are close enough. 214 D would be safer and push the opponent away. Cancelling into bomb toss is hella negative and they can just run up and hit you in the face fro free. A 5D cancel here would be godlike, but we don't have that lol. Actually a blocked 5B from anywhere on the screen is pretty tricky because she can only cancel it into C moves and specials (and 2B). Most of those attacks will miss though or do absolutely nothing...like 236A.
  20. Yeah challenge 20 is a tough one. I don't know if this is in the notation of the challenge mode combo, but you can jump cancel the 2B THEN do 236D > arrow. It makes it a lot easier to hit by doing this. Also for blockstrings....ehhh I haven't played that much but I did see one guy using Stuff > 5C > 2C/5D. 5D is incredibly plus on block, so you use it to reset pressure. and you throw in 2C instead to get a frametrap for good damage if they were mashing or tried to jump.
  21. Yo I also got the new persona yesterday! Now my PS3 is equipped with: Unibel, BBCP, P4U, Aquapazza, and other random stuff like Dragon's Crown.
  22. 5AAA > 214A > 5C is going to be the death of me online. I can tell already. Also stevie I think she is supposed to zone the opponent and be annoying, while also having the speed and options to advance upon the opponent quickly.
  23. Oh yeah GGs Icekin. Sorry our conn wasn't super smooth. Also GGs to the PJS lobby.
  24. I'm on the East Coast kinda (Tennessee) I'd love to test our connection and see if we could get some good sets in. More games against rushdown characters is always good.
  25. I'm coming to the gathering on the 30th. My main games are BB and Uniel, but I'll sure as hell mash at the new Persona and just about any other game. I can bring a PS3 with BBCP, Uniel, and AquaPazza installed on the harddrive, but my PS3 can't play discs reliably. ^_^ See you guys there.
