Holy crap! There's an arcade in san mateo? And it's less than 2 miles from me? I'm hitting that place up tonight and checking it out. -
Introducing the CopperDabbit Challenge! (CDC)

We could definitely do that james, but I like the tourny and would rather keep it around if possible. There's already two saturdays a month that don't have anything going on tourny wise, so I think it would be easiest to do it on one of those days. -

Dacid, Ideally, I'm going to try and get the arcade to set the machine to event mode, like during the tournaments. That way I can just stay on the machine and won't lose any extra money. The other option is to have them stay there, and I just try again. There are definitely still some issues I need to work out, this among them. Everything is still kinda in the idea phase right now... -

Introducing the CopperDabbit Challenge! (CDC)

Wow guys, I'm really surprised at the positive responses I've been getting to this. I guess all I need to do is set an actual date for this... I'll check my calendar and see what works for me. What day(s) would be best for everyone? Saturday/Sunday are obviously the easiest choices. How does everyone vote? Also, I'd like to do two things in addition to this; 1) I'd like to update the first page with the names of people who have accepted the CDC. And 2) When this event actually happens, I'd like to keep a running record of who I played, how many times, win/lose record, etc. Are both of those cool with everyone? -

She's mid-ish tier, but can be used to great effect if played smartly. -

I like your ideas Wuku, the problem that I see is that I'm already cutting into my savings pretty heavily just for the initial CDC, EVO and the SBO qualifier. Add on renting the machine, and we're talking some serious cash which I just don't have. However, I may be able to work something out with Goryus, and borrow his cab, which would probably be the best idea all around. I just have no idea how that would work in the first place. I'm still mulling things over, and when I come to a concrete decision, I'll make a formal announcement (and posters!). -

Hey everyone, thanks for all of the support so far! I did want to clarify one point (before anyone asks...) and I'll edit the front post to reflect this as well. I do not have a special arrangement going on with any arcade, so don't go in to this thinking the games are going to be free. You still have to pay for each game, which means out of 2/3, if you win your net profit (at SVGL) will be $3.50. -

As I'm planning on using Arakune at SBO, it will be against my Arakune. Maybe I'll do one or two tager mirrors if I feel like it -
Hey Everyone! So, here's the deal. I have been trying my best to get as good at BBCS as I am physically capable of being, with the goal of winning the SBO qualifier this year in texas. And with this goal in mind, I present to all of you: The CopperDabbit Challenge. What is the CDC? The CDC is a one day event I will be holding on the dates below, where I will show up to an arcade and spend the entire day there, from open to close, trying to play against as many people as possible, so I can become a better player. If everything goes well, I plan on repeating the CDC in NorCal (SVGL), and SoCal (AI) Here's the deal: When I show up to the arcade, I will have $100 - $200 dollars (depending on the kind of response I get here) in 5 dollar bills on me. If you beat me 2/3 games, you win $5. No strings attached. All players are eligible, and THERE IS NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF TIMES A PLAYER CAN WIN THE CDC. Huh? Why would you do that? Wouldn't there be people who would just be willing to play you normally? Yes, that is true. However, most of the best players (from my experience) are poor ass college students who don't have the money to travel from place to place. By offering a cash incentive, I'm hoping that those players will be willing to show up as well. This is an experiment by nature, and I don't know how it will turn out, nor do I know if this will turn out to be a good idea. I may well just end up wasting my time/money. We'll see. Wow! This sounds awesome! When it is? DATES: CDC 1: June 5th @ Sunnyvale Golfland (SVGL) 855 East El Camino Real Sunnyvale, CA 94087-2937 (408) 245-1322 CDC 2: June 19th @ Arcade Infinity (AI) 1380 Fullerton Rd Rowland Heights, CA 91748 (626) 581-4361 Unfortunately, due to work + other scheduling conflicts, I will NOT be able to visit the PNW this time around T_T. After July I'll make a special trip there just for fun though. If something was not explained well enough, or you just have a general question, please let me know and I'll response ASAP. I do not have a special arrangement going on with any arcade, so don't go in to this thinking the games are going to be free. You still have to pay for each game, which means out of 2/3, if you win your net profit (at SVGL) will be $3.50. - $4.25, depending on if you steam roll me, or if I actually win one. Rules: 1) Anyone is eligible to enter. 2) You can enter the CDC as many times as you want. 3) You're paying for your own game(s). 4) All matches will 2/3, on whatever setting the arcade machine is set to default to. 5) Winning 2/3 matches, you will be give $5 cash, on the spot. 6) Proof of money can be provided on site. 7) The CDC will last from opening till closing on the indicated days. 8) I will only have a limited amount of money on me. Once it's gone, that's it - No additional prizes will be awarded after the initial cash prizes are gone. 9) This event is on a first come-first serve basis. Heres a list of people who are/might be attending CDC! Make sure to add your name to the list! (In no particular order): Confirmed: MikeZ Whiteboywilly Miracle Pizza TaoFTW Kenny Tuty huey253 iXRenegade Whaa Drayne O Chun Coopa Stay Puft [X]CC[X] Wuku Dacidbro OrienXElite Render MissedFRC Mooyang90 RinHara5aki Xie IkeTakeda Tentative: CakeWasBannedd Corralein Zaido Marionette Pwii Good, we didn't want them going anyway(j/k): Qwerty Spirit Juice Thanks everyone! Hey guys, Just wanted to give a couple of quick shout outs: Dacidbro: I need more bang practice. Come up to NorCal more often damnit! Render: You're awesome. Keep kicking ass dude. I'll get you next time gadget! Err, render... MikeZ: It was awesome seeing you again. I missed all of you guys. Skullgirls was fucking awesome, I can't wait to play it some more. Also, our MM at evo this year is going to be HYPE. Best of 10, right? On a side note: I actually won some of our matches! I think that was the first time I've won against you in CS Bang Camero: Victory totally deserved. I'm so proud ^_^ You truly are my brother's name brother... bro. Odd03: Pleasure meeting you, I'd like to play your Ragna some more! Tronzilla666: TvC sucks. Play more BB and less of that Jan: Holy crap, I did not expect to see you there! Good shit, wish I had gotten to play against you. You had a scary Tager in CT and I really would have liked to see how you've progressed in CS. Other people I can't remember right now: Thanks for all the random matches and the fun tourny! Keep kicking ass! In other news: WCW2 was actually fun. Other than the only having one step up going (which was actually OK due to the low turn out, and definitely NOT the fault of any of the organizers), I didn't have any issues with the event at all. I'm really looking forward to WCW3. -
