  2. Her pistol is heavily based on the Smith & Wesson M37 revolver, a very common standard issue pistol among Japanese police. That entire series of revolvers is five-cylinder. Atlus/ASW knew exactly what they were doing. And no, Persona-less Sho doesn't seem to have an instant kill. (He has no Persona cards, a requirement to perform an IK, so...)
  3. So... I'm all for opinions. If you don't like Bedman's design, that's totally cool. I'm not a fan of it or anything - I think it's okay, a bit weird, but whatever. Thing is... if you've got an opinion on something, that's fine. But if you present it like a total asshole, you're just looking to start an argument. I don't really like arguments over opinions in this thread - they're not going to accomplish anything and I have to wade through a few pages of pointlessness to get back to relevant stuff. So basically what I'm getting at is don't say shit like this: 'Cuz all that's gonna do is get people pumped to argue. If that's really the best way you can state your opinion, I'd really rather you just kept it to yourself. I hope you guys get what I'm saying here.
  4. Yeah, that's what I was figuring. For a dude strapped to a giant mechanical bed he sure seems to be focused on aerial play. Interesting indeed... I wonder.
  5. That's fairly subjective and glosses over the idea of focusing on a character you actually like vs. just trying to pick up someone easy.
  6. Yup. Task X > Deja Vu. Pretty interesting that all of his special moves also work in the air. Really curious as to how he'll play. Only ~9 days 'til the loketest, here's hoping for another flood of footage.
  7. Let's just get this out of the way and save a lot of time in the future. [Character Name] = regular version of that character. S-[Character Name] or S.[Character Name] = shadow version of that character. This way there's a clear difference between Labrys, S.Labrys, and Shadow Labrys (or Shabrys, even). And we don't need new boards for every character. Oh, and for Sho you can do either Sho/P-Sho, or Sho/PerShona. 'Cuz of course you wanna use PerShona. And while I'm thinking of it: if you see something that looks like Noel's old counter assault, that's probably that new defensive roll mechanic, and not actually their counter assault.

  10. Seems pretty straightforward. Task A -> Deja vu. Task A Prime -> Deja vu. Task B -> Deja vu. Task C -> Deja vu. Deja vu could be a repeat of the Task or just a special followup. Doesn't seem like a generic followup, since each has the original move's name in parentheses after it to imply that they're unique. Special Movement: Press up during a jump to hover, can move while hovering. Sounds a bit like Eddie/Zato's thing, but they don't go into as much detail on Zato's so I dunno. Awaiting better translation. 特殊移動: ジャンプ中に^で停滞 停滞後レバーを入れた方向に移動 Overdrives are Sinusoidal Helios and Hemi Jack(?). I'll spare you all a machine translation of his backstory, but it seems simple enough. Unknown origins, terrible experiments, luring enemies into his dream world.

  12. Between the magazine coverage and loketests, they seem to be doing just fine - in Japan, their primary market. I can't imagine it's worth the cost to try to appeal more to the American audience.

  14. I'll take it. Also, I'm pre-reg'd. I have a PS3 with GG+R/BBCP, but it can only do component out. Not an issue on a stream station/with an LGP, but otherwise it's not going to work with any of the common monitors people will be bringing. Should I bother bringing it, or save space in the car? Might bring it for the hotel room regardless.

  19. Reminder: I'm running another BADC the weekend before NEC (November 30th). If you can make it, come on up for some games. I figure, being sandwiched between Thanksgiving and NEC isn't the best time, but it's all I've got. So if you can't make it, don't sweat it, there'll always be more.
  20. OD will be draining right as you input the DD even with the best timing. It's very tight - just try to do everything as quickly and cleanly as you can.
  21. Faultless Defense is in since the first loketest and isn't going anywhere. See for yourself on the System page. Additionally the differentiation between back + two buttons and just two buttons is an easy one to make: see BBCP and Barrier/Crush Trigger. Furthermore it was already clarified that it's done by either Neutral + two buttons (ground or air) and Down + two buttons for a crouching version. Again, it's all on the site and was translated here. As for knowing the intricacies of FD: it's all explained on the website (in Japanese) and if the AC+R player site is any indication, Xrd will have a mobile site available that serves as its manual for the arcade version, so all of this stuff can be looked up by new players with little difficulty. The site also does a good job of demonstrating how RC costs work. Someone mentioned it briefly but I'll repeat it here: the image of Sol RCing 5H (a Red RC) shows it costing 50 meter. The image of Sol RCing Gunflame (Yellow RC) shows it costing 25 meter.
  22. There's also a delay before your inputs are received by the game. You might just be hitting back a little too late.
  23. Yamanaka made that announcement. (The singer could've done so, as well, but Yamanaka's where we got it from originally.) There were indeed 5, though at the time he did not specify what they would be used for.
