The entire forum can be friendly and fun-loving if you want it to be. Just keep the important threads on-topic for fuck's sake.
-
Yup.
-
Like people getting butthurt over an asinine thread getting closed or begging to be allowed to post stupid off-topic bullshit. Like having to explain myself for the umpteenth time even while things have been made pretty clear.
-
Here you go, then. Just a quick thing here, apparently every single thing Dustloop does causes this issue. While I'm sure you believed that this would be shocking information, it isn't even slightly. Not sure if one thread per board and a post every ~100 pages or so qualifies as "plastered," but I get what you're going for here. What's really amazing is that despite all the warnings, the begging, the pleading; people still don't pay them any mind. Still get people posting in the all-caps news thread like it isn't even a thing. Still get people posting *feeds you a cookie* in the CP discussion thread. We're not a community. That's simple fact. The threads in Match Finder are communities. Groups are communities. Netplay's a community. Dustloop is a forum. New and old players alike, actually. I received a steady stream of complaints regarding the CP general discussion thread recently; 100s of off-topic, irrelevant posts every time new info came to light. I let the thread sit for a day - a day - after the Kokonoe reveal. 321 posts were deleted when I came back. Posts that had no bearing on Kokonoe, CP, anything. Why the fuck should I cater to that instead of the people trying to make proper use of threads? You started around '06-'07. That's right around when bullshit hit its peak iirc. I was mostly in Zepp Museum at the time, so I didn't pay much attention. But players who were around for info did. Most of them just up and left. Dustloop became a joke. Still is, depending on who you ask. Nobody bothers anymore. You can't find info now because the people that have it won't come here to share it. They get annoyed with people who question them, post stupid shit, clutter up everything... it's not worth their time. Or they have info and are willing to post, but see the empty boards and wonder if it's worth the effort, or doubt themselves and think the info might be wrong, or who knows what. Of course, letting people post stupid shit however they like won't solve these problems. Again, we're not a community, and we don't strive to be. If you're looking for a community, you really are better off going elsewhere, or joining one of the smaller communities that exist within Dustloop. But looking for community in a thread about news for a new game isn't going to get you anywhere - and defining community as "a place where people post off-topic" isn't such a great idea, either. Hint: we're not professional. We're volunteers. We play fighting games. We're sick of the stupid bullshit we've had to put up with for the past decade. I don't care about Chubaki. I'm glad the thread's gone/not gone/whatever the fuck it is. The overreaction was legendary. No.

I've got too much shit to deal with all of a sudden, sending you a notice slipped my mind. I'm not going to undelete the thread. I'm happy to offer a reply of sorts, either here or in PM, your choice.

I deleted that thread so I could actually read it before shit spiraled out of control again.

Want to start joining tournaments, but i'm nervous.

Please for the love of god sign up as a name people recognize you as. Having to shout over a crowd of people for some bullshit name no one's heard of is obnoxious and wastes time. -
I vote fd arranges all tournaments from now on.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

Aksys isn't publishing for ASW anymore. They've been handling it themselves for a while now, mostly through PSN/XBLA (and just PSN anymore). -
I'll add characters where I know them. Mark was going to go, but some Life shit hit him last minute and he couldn't make it. And yeah, GG's getting big! Love it!

...kind of amazing that we're nearly through with 2013 and people still include "spammers" and "turtles" as their pet peeves. Get better. Play around it. There is no tactic that cannot be overcome.

[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
Circuitous replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
This (as well as my previous post) is inaccurate. The CS1 DLC characters (Makoto, Platinum, Valkenhayn) had character art/names/HUD stuff, but only a single sprite of Ragna with no palette information iirc. I could pull up the data again to check, but that hard drive is dead and fuck downloading it again. Point is ASW isn't exactly known for on-disc DLC. It's not something I'd be concerned about here. Also, characters you can unlock in-game that have an option to pay for their immediate use (Mu-12, Unlimited characters, possibly Kagura/Terumi) don't really count as on-disc DLC in my view. I do hate DLC characters, though. Just makes it harder on TOs. -
Melty Blood results will be added once I know what happened. Thanks again to everybody who came out and played games with us. Got so many more players than I was expecting. 38 for GG alone! That's more than we even had at the venue last time! Shoutouts to everyone who made the long drive to Cincinnati just to join us. Bill307 from way up in Cantanialand, S-Alpha from Wisconsin (who was also the first to arrive!), that dude whose name I just forgot who dropped in from Washington, D.C., ShinSyn from Chicago, everyone who came up from Tennessee and down from Michigan... you're all awesome, and it was a pleasure finally meeting and playing with you all. I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out, and everyone's encouragement and cooperation was a huge help. I've learned a lot from this event, just as I'd learned from each event before. I underestimated how long Top 4 would take (and how long BB would take in general), and I definitely have seen some areas where I can improve and make the next event even better. So from the bottom of my heart, really, thank you all for making this event great and making all the effort worthwhile.

Isn't all of this explained when you go to character select?

Only thing that truly gets under my skin when playing is delay. Netplay, bad TVs, etc. Anything else, I can overcome. Delay makes me feel helpless in otherwise manageable situations.

[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
Circuitous replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
This was touched on before, but just to clarify: the content of the discs they'll be shipping as Chrono Phantasma was finalized months ago. The process to actually get a game on consoles is a long one. Anything they continued to work on after that point (Terumi, Kagura, Kokonoe) have to be DLC. They may end up on the disc in some form (CS had sprites for the three DLC characters, but minimal data), but for now, save your disappointment until the inspection. -
Re: Axl, I'm having the exact same issue. I had it for a while, came back the next day and it was gone. I can't even blame a stealth patch since my PS3 doesn't have internet access... so weird. Didn't consider APB after the landing c.S, mostly focusing on meterless options when I explore this stuff, I just got the 2H, realized Heat didn't work, and wrote Heavenly. Not that Potemkin isn't chock full of meter nowadays since we're not spending it on every Buster.

My completionist tendencies won't allow this. -
Faust is pretty easy. sj.P > j.P > j.K > j.S > j.H |> c.S > 2H > Heavenly. Almost no delay on the air buttons. I can't get c.S > 2S > Heat or c.S > 2H > Heat to work. Maybe j.H |> 2H > Heat would work, but I can't get the timing.

It really wouldn't surprise me if some "fringe" characters didn't make the cut for the first release. There'll be more after -SIGN-. There's always more... -
Gif won't work as avatar?
Circuitous replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Site Feedback and Suggestions
Avatars are limited to 160x64 pixels and 48.8kb. If your GIF exceeds these dimensions it will still upload, but will be resized by the forum software, which will also remove all animation. So basically you need to crop it down to 160x64 or smaller and try again.
