  1. Should have a mix of SoCal players doing commentary IMO. NorCal already got their commentary game with NCI. Translation: I miss Xie's, SpiritJuice's, and (insert character of the month here) Camaro's sexy voices.
  2. I prefer CS2. Time to move on IMO. CS1 is already stale, and a month to practice for CS2 is actually enough time because in the end, it's still Blazblue.
  3. Arcade Infinity closed its doors for good last month, so we're fucked. Legendary Lotus became a Legendary Letdown because the owner refused to change and adapt to the community's suggestions to make his place better, so we took our business elsewhere. Your best bet right now is Round 1 arcade in the Puente Hills Mall, which is down the street from where Arcade Infinity used to be, but they haven't gotten in BBCS(2) yet. Other than that, you're stuck playing BBCS online or finding an organized offline console meet at random houses that occur at random intervals.
  4. First post updated with more info, including the addition of $1k pot for Arcana Heart 3!
  5. A little birdie told me some "special" players are thinking of coming over to this event. I'm not going to list names. The Rumor Mill of Fate Is Turning. Rebel 1, Action!
  6. Fuck that shit. Grilled onions all the way, baby!
  7. Only one good thing can come out of this whole fiasco... I propose a CEO winner vs. Revelations winner FT10 grudge match at Evo. Get hype!
  8. I would like to point out that the whole Evo Qualifiers thing is overblown since it only applies to 2 games: SSF4, and MvC3. Not to mention, there are still numerous other events that have Evo Qualifier status (i.e. Final Round, UFGT, etc.) outside of CEO, so the whole "you're not supporting Evo by not going to CEO" shit is ridiculous. Let's face it; thanks to fighting games blowing up (re:SSF4, MvC3), more tourneys are gonna be thrown, and with that more toes are going to be stepped on, because there are only so many dates you can "reserve" before overlap is inevitable. Fucking hell, this is a bitter pill I would GLADLY swallow in exchange for not going back to the days of 40-man regional majors and shit where the winners barely broke even. As for the whole "TL is a scam" claims, you guys know that Aksys Games is putting up the $5000, not TL, right? TL is just handling the money, and if they were to mishandle the money specified by Aksys to be strictly for BlazBlue, that would be some SERIOUS illegal shit they're doing, and shit will literally hit the fan. As much as TL/ActiveGamers may not have a favorable reputation from Triple Threat, at least they're trying again and that says a lot about them.
  9. ^ He's from Georgia, cut him some slack.
  10. Mr. Wizard gave console SSF4AE a deadline of June 1 or else they'll stick to regular SSF4, so it's safe to assume that the June 1 date will apply to console BBCS2 as well.
  11. Last year Evo was at Caesar's Palace, which was right on the strip, so it was a little bit pricey compared to previous Evo standards. Since it's now back at the Rio I assume prices will be cheaper like last time with the Evo rate (iirc it was something like $70 a day for Monday-Thursday, $120 Friday-Sunday or some shit like that for a 2-bed room). Or you can stay at the casino across the street from the Rio for slightly cheaper (iirc it was the Gold Nugget), though I personally suggest you stay at the Rio but that's just me.
  12. EDIT: Evolution BB Pool Compilation Post Here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11011-Evolution-2011-at-the-Rio-Las-Vegas-NV-July-29-31.-Get-hype!&p=1079965&viewfull=1#post1079965 Copy/pasta from front page. As most of you already know, the Evolution Fighting Game Championships has been the grand-daddy of them all for the American fighting game tournament scene for the past decade, and this year's is no exception. Taking place at the Rio in Las Vegas, Evolution 2011 will be happening on July 29-31, and the main lineup of tournament games will be Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken 6, Mortal Kombat 9, and BlazBlue:Continuum Shift 2. So get your practice on, plan your vacation days, show up, and GET HYPE! Mod Edit: Updated game lineup to corrected versions of the affected games.
  13. Don't be a dumbass and link it in the open. Take it through more private channels (hint: PM's).
  14. To further clarify since no one seems to be talking about this. $18 entry for a $200 total pot prize? Are you kidding? Hell, Evolution, the largest fighting game event in the country, doesn't even charge that much for it's per-tourney fees. Get hype for 3rd place walking out with a grand total of $2 profit!
  15. All this doom and gloom is really hilarious when the latest tier listing being argued on the Japanese BBS thinks Carl is S-tier now.
  16. R.I.P. AI. Was fun while it lasted (and it lasted quite a while)...
  17. Yes. For starters, do a highlight match for one of BB and GG first to gauge the reaction (and I'll put it up on the front page). For BB I suggest the Tsujikawa/Satoshi SBO final match, and for GG I suggest any FAB match where he wins an insanely lopsided matchup (i.e. vs. Shounen/Ogawa etc.).
  18. Awful. Do your bitching in the character-specific threads.
  19. Add Tekken 6 and I'll show up for sure (along with other Tekken players). SSF4 already has enough tournaments as is...
  20. Awesome, take away Carl's only halfway decent defensive move. Stay fucked, defensive-style Carl players.
  21. Uh, I was under the impression that Level|Up will be handling the streaming equipment (at least for top 8/4/whatever they decide)... Unless you're talking about setting up a separate stream or something, but you would need to account for bandwidth allocation between the Level|Up streams and etc...
