  1. Second combo, do you mean SQV instead of KQV?
  2. Ky and Venom are relative equals in the poke game, Venom f.S being a little longer, but Ky doesn't need charge to follow up his pokes. Stinger can be useful in this match, but depending on the habits of the Ky player, they may throw out lots of Stun Dippers (slide move), and you should adjust accordingly.
  3. This matchup favors Sin (as of now). Sin's poke game is strong as one can figure. Your neutral must be on point. Pay close attention to his food gauges, his pressure (and mixup to some extent) relies on it. I believe I read it takes 40 frames for his food to be fully eaten. Be prepared to interrupt with 2S/f.S/HS Stinger. Maybe you can utilize YRC to slow him down to help punish bad eating attempts? Sin can YRC food after he eats it, and he can RC/PRC his hunger state after a certain point. He has a low profile low hitting dash for one of his specials, so you can't be reckless with Stingers. Beak Driver (his mid stabbing move) is 2 hits, has 11 frame startup, is chargeable, causes level 5 blockstun and negates all projectiles. Very annoying to deal with...
  4. Matchup is in Ramlethal's favor. If she blocks or gets hit, Swords will stop swinging. Knowing when you can make her block/hit her and when you have to take it is important. Can't really do much about her giant sword going downard in the air (when attached). However, if she opts to follow it up with her special move, learn to instant block that (its 3 hits). Keep mobile in neutral? It takes a lot longer for her detached swords to act if they have to teleport over, rather than having them just swing.
  5. Matchup is in Venom's favor. However, if you're not careful, you could die quickly! Watchout for Hammerfall YRC. It lets him approach with the one hit of armor and either Pot Buster or AA you. Venom deals with Hammerfall fairly well between gatlings, ball hits, and YRC. Use Venom's dash, backdash, and air summon to get around slidehead Flick is a thing so be sure to change ball speeds. ICPM and YRC/RC/PRCing it is very new to me, I'm not sure how to approach dealing with it. He takes all 3 hits crouching from Venom's c.S. Helpful for pressure, confirms, and combos!
  6. I don't know who's at advantage in this matchup. Dolphins are safer, but I think she's forced to block f.S after you block a Dolphin? 3K might go under it, but not sure if that's in time. May getting hit makes her beach ball go away. Not sure on block? Many May's love to jump, so be on the lookout there!
  7. Matchup is probably in I-No's favor. If she doesn't approach right after notes, if you're far away you can use QV to negate them while summoning. Or you could try YRC the QV if it will whiff (time it so the ball lines up). Chemical Love YRC means you'll have to take her devasting mixup. Note that I-No's low options prorate more than her high ones. Stroke the big tree goes under 2S. Her reversal super does need some respect.
  8. Matchup is heavily in Chipp's favor. Venom's worst matchup. I haven't fought it much personally myself. Teleport YRC means you can get punished for trying nearly anything in neutral. If you can catch him, kill him. But he does have a DP (needs 50 meter to make it safe though, unlike last game). A lot of his oki is left/right based, so reversal blitz shield becomes an important tool.
  9. Matchup is considered to be in Venom's favor. Venom has effective poking and space control to match Axl's. Venom can also cover his approaches well, and Axl's chains do get hit by balls. For Axl's range, he can't do much at full screen either, while Venom can. Note that Rensengeki (green chain move) counts as 3 projectile hits. Axl can interrupt careless approaches and predictable ball based pressure with this. GG Veterans should note two things: Axl's DP is legit now and really good actually. So be prepared to treat him like a DP character. Axl's new stance. It's not a huge threat for Venom though. Like his pokes, the chains can be hit. Learn to instant block it and interrupt it with 2P, maybe 2S, and ball hits/Stinger too.
