  1. That's what a graviton fireball is suppose to distract them from. Cuz you know... everyone worries about the ball of fire rather than the giant electrical robot that's charging for more than 2 seconds. Btw, 236C isn't really an issue on timing as long as you put the move in. It has lots of active frames so as long as the moves out before they fall down/into it it should hit.
  2. Koko's astral is a 720 grab that puts em in a kinda Frankenstein inspired machine then she proceeds to either use magic or science to call a meteor down on their face
  3. That may be easier... but damn that demo combo looms nice. I am more hooked on her than I thought I'd be actually, wasn't with the "ZOMG ITS KOKONOE" group, just thought it'd be cool to have a team of SCIENCE! with Relius. Becase of her graviton's placement freedom, does that mean a lot of her combos will vary?
  4. Seems like she gets a HUGE increase in damage if she can confirm into her CT. She seems very meter efficient xD so now I'm on challenge 30 with no idea how to combo. Edit: DERP, Golden Tager it

  6. I know I posted this in the combo thread, but 6C into UB setup in the corner feels on the Carl lvl of safe resets. The gap seems like it forces a DP at the least, which at the very least can be blocked, dunno if you could safejump into Ley for RYO grade trolling, plus j.B/236D UB setup still has good enough proration to go into almost every combo path, so if you're low on ignis, the tkj.236C combo does work. If thry refuse to tech the combo, I think you can still get oki by just going into 3C since 236D grounds on hit now. I'm probably a bit too excited over it and there's obvious things it loses to, so if I missed em, please tell me xD
  7. Well, we're about a week in and I'd figured this needed to be posted, especially since I feel like one of the weaker Relius players on the forums. TD showed me up good so I'll get some of my bad matches more than my good ones. I don't think quality should be too big of an issue as long as you can easily tell what's going on. Like the title says, this is mostly for Lobby/Player matches, official plays like our Relius god RYO should be put in the official video thread xD. Discussion on improvement is very welcome.

  10. Apologies, I didn't know you meant midscreen with Ada behind you xD; doesn't fuoco+vivace still catch him even if he backdashes? He could ley through fuoco, but that's risky. Edit: I couldn't help but notice that you ignored the one good string Relius has into 214A and that's 6C>214A. Its a 5 frame gap, so while IB still beats it, it can't just be mashed for free. Also, any string into 214A is usually done from Relius' 2/5B range, outside of Carl's 5A range. Also, backdash out of doll punch super doesn't guarantee escape all the time. Micro dashes between hits keeps them airborne until the last hit, and relius could just 3C/air grab by then.
  11. Cadacus, I brought up that CT combo on the last page, but yeah. Microdash CT after 214A adds about 600 damage to the combo, and with most moves, still allows 41236B>4D>3C>optional Tedo. Resets, I feel as though the untech to 6C allows UB setups more frequently now honestly. Generally they cant tech until they hit the ground, and 236D is already out by then. Dunno if it can be safejumped to bait dp's though Midscreen 25 heat 5B>3C>6D>CT>665B>2C>6C>41236B>5B>5C(1)>j.B>dj.B>j.C>j.236C>j.214B. 4153 damage, 17 heat, 2300 ignis Ok, if you want a reset combo, I'm not sure how big thr gap is, but its nice in thr corner 5B>3C>236C>214A>5C(1)>j.C>j.236C>j.214B>j.B>2C>6C>236Djump j.B/j.C. builds 27 heat before the reset, and you have to slightly delay the 6C so they don't tech before they hit the ground. Honestly, any combo involving 2C>6C could probably do this, but idk

I've played this fight countless times in Extend and it hasn't changed much into CP other than if he gets the first hit, it takes a lot longer to kill you since his damage was brought down quite a bit. That being said, one thing I've noticed is that Valk has few options against wakeup 214C, even full screen after Haas. Sometimes, he might even try to immediately jump into wolf form to close the gap, which is bad for him since a 214C combo can hurt. This is one of those momentum fights honestly, since neither has great defensive options. You do have more ways to bait his defensive options than he has over you, but he also has a better neutral game and mixup than you do. 214A is unreliable since he can just jump over it and end up in your face. 4D is nice if he's tryin to bait your 2C (which will be every time in this matchup, be careful with 2C). If he's in wolf mode and you're on the approach from the air, w.5B is still one of the best AAs in the game. Luckily, j.2Ds buff makes me feel like we could stuff it with ignis more often than not now
  13. Almost any move from Ada will catch Rel's backdash. The most risky one being 2D obviously. Volante, 46D, 6D, fuoco, 3D... all should be able to clip Rel during the recovery. I havnt played as Carl much yet, but I know how I behave as Relius.
  14. Use Ada. Really xD playing as Relius, Carl is a very dangerous character to do corner backsteps on. Volante can hit him, fuoco can hit him, a well timed 6D could probably hit him too. Just don't limit your oki to Carl moves alone.

  17. Depends on where you're at and what you want to accomplish. If it was an air hit 2C FC, dash forward, 2C>6C>41236B>5B>6B>j.B>dj.B>j.C>j.236C>j.214B Off a standing 2C FC I think you can do 2C (FC)>214A>665B>3C>6D>j.B>2C>6C>41236B>5B>6B>j.B>j.C>j.236C>j.214B. Sorry for no values, I don't have the game in frony of me right now.
  18. If her strings were unchanged from Extend, then almost all of them have a gap. Her overhead is pretty good though, and I understand he issue with blocking xD. Also, if her strings were unchanged, I know I use Ley WAAAAAY more than I should, but in matches where they're forced to special cancel a move to make it safe, just ley through it. However, this has to be done on a move that cant wiff follow up, like 6A or 6BB. I do this for a lot of characters that rely on a special cancelled move to make it safe like Hakumen 5C or Kagura's drive
  19. Only requires 3 fingers and its just a roll like you're playin a keyboard from watching the demonstrations, some say its actually a lot faster. I feel like I'd reliably be able to pull off Relius' new gear distortion input better, plus tks sound easier to me personally. A local player uses one and I was confused when I first saw it but now I want one
  20. On IB I think its barely safe, its +1 usually, but that's why I said appropriately spaced, which generally if you end a combo in j.214B you'd be spaced well enough. However, I dunno how meaty Leis would work, being 2 hits and all. That's why I was wondering if Relius had an extended hitbox
  21. Would backstepping the 5C and doin 214A/B beat out a second 5C if they were trying to buffer into 6C if it hit? Usually when I see someone open with 5C and I backstep, another 5C is right there again. Should I take the opportunity for IAD pressure or kick it off with ignis?
  22. Jump ins with Mu are a bit risky though since her only good air to ground is slow. All other jump ins are obvious and/or easy to get yourself that nice 2C FC. Its mostly the 5C I was worried about since it gave her enough time to jump away and troll with lasers xD. Btw, is there a gap big enough in the 5C>6C gatling of hers to ley through? Backstep sometimes gets clipped during active frames and I really want that punish lol
  23. Ok, so say I generally always know that every Mu player I've gone up against has always opened with 5C. Is there any way you can call this out from starting positions? Generally a backstep is enough to avoid, but I wanna be able to get in on her when she misses such an easy to recognize move @.@
  24. Ggs to the Vita reunion and to X40's room. That Terumi trolled me hard enough to give me a reason to put my controller BACK together xD; (popped the thumbstick out accidentally) really need to get a better controller but I'm broke
  25. Ok, I don't have any issues with this matchup except... laser spam. How does one beat it? Get lucky with a 22C? Cuz it feels like these damn things multiply like rabbits. 214B isn't fast enough for that BS xD
