  1. Okays.... -You need to learn how to block better. You were getting countered everywhere when you should have been blocking. Know when you can and cannot attack for sure and don't blindly keep trying to. You need to up your defense. -Learn to hit confirm better. There were some 5B > 5C hits you could have confirmed into 214B knockdown, but instead you auto-pilot'd into 5D keepaway-game. -You jump too much, and that bang has you all read. Learn to appreciate Jin's ground game too. Work on your ground footsies. Try training yourself by vowing to never or jump as least as possible in casual matches. Overall, that bang was very rush down. Don't rush him down too if his rush down is better than yours, because as what happened, you ate a ton of counters. Adapt to the match. If what you're currently doing isn't working, stop, rethink, and adapt. You should have that down by the end of the first round. lol that bang is ready for CS.
  2. Things I know so far: -You can punish his fire punch through IB. Ragna can do simple 5B, I dunno about Jin. Maybe 5B or 2B, maybe 3C. -Don't DP every air dash in, otherwise he'll bait it with a drive. -I am not sure if his 2D can be punished by 5C > 6C. It obviously can on whiff though, so look for that from D-spam happy Bangs. -I think jump barrier is the best option from defending against his D move if you got too far into his guard points. -j.236D can be beaten out by mere shurikens. This sucks balls -Don't do fireball zoning. He'll D teleport. I'm not very successful at all in this matchup. All I'm doing so far is keeping them at bay with jC and looking for counter hits.
  3. Derp, nevermind, it *is* greyish. I was looking at the Reply page. But general text content has a grey background, which is good.
  4. The post, post reply, quote, QR buttons are still Sol-red though. And hmm, I think I'd prefer a more grey-ish approach. Black is so... extreme. We'll see if it's intuitive in the long run. Also, it's a bit hard to differentiate between Unread and Read threads. That's my critique. Otherwise, yay blue~ Everything I have is blue. My laptop is blue. My sticks are blue. My flashlight is blue. My drinking glasses are blue. Shit. I just noticed I'm like the 'I'm blue' song. Oh well. But yeah.
  5. I know the big cab is 2 tokens to continue for sure. I was about to put another token in but the manager came to collect tokens from the cab and I had to insert two instead since he took 10+ seconds. I think the small cab however is 1 token anytime though.
  6. If you can't do corner throw > 623B, you default to whatever you can do outside of corner. That's just a waste of meter.
  7. I really want to try those corner 6D > 6D > 5B > 2B > 5C > 3C > 236D resets, but I never found the chance to last I played. Does 3C > 236D work on all characters or only those with reasonably large hitboxes? Thanks for translating the names souseta. This will make it easier to find certain jins/playstyles. Something other than typical GC players, lol (not that their bad).
  8. Good stuff guys. Yeah, only 16 entrants, but I'm sure that will vastly improve once CS hits consoles. It was a ton of fun playing you guys. Great experience. And why was my first game against *the* MikeZ? And at losers, Jan? Both pros (and tagers to boot). What happened to seeding?! This is only my second (or third?) tournament ever . But it's all good. 16 entrants, after all. Fun stuff. Oh and sorry Odd03 and I weren't there in person for the BBCS finals... Easter sunday shenanigans and stuff. But we did watch the whole stream before heading out and getting there at HD Remix finals. Congrats to Bang, and everyone else for getting to top 4. Ohx2, Skull Girls is looking great. Only 5 months and a working engine, stages, and character. That's amazing. And I actually did play it Mike Looking forward to more in the future!
  9. viet david and I will be there at 8pm for BB casuals as well so... We sure hope it's set up on Friday, lol. I will bring speakers and maybe a 22" monitor for back up's sake but I'm sure you've all got that handled. If all goes well, I'll have an all-sanwa TE PS2 stick finished by then that people can borrow (just take off your watches or anything on your wrists... it's got easily scratchable plexi). Just wanna contribute somehow~ See you guys there tomorrow.

  11. Yerp, jin pro. I gotta lose some weight and wear some spiffy glasses. Anyways, I think I'll make this thread my personal R&D video archive and start pasting vids with Jins in them in here. I'll post their times so you guys don't have to search for them. I can't read moonspeak so I don't know who is in them. I will include full character names so if people need to look for certain matchups (like myself), they can use the thread search function. I will also update with player names if provided. Upload dates are given to give you an idea of how old the tactics in the video are. I think I'll also put notes beside them if anything is notable. Some of these you may have already seen. Like said, this is for archival purposes, so I can look them up whenever I want (and add to them whenever I want, so don't expect this regularly), but I'm sure they will be helpful to some (especially once console release comes around), so I'll share this resource here. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10235782 - uploaded 4/1/10 0:00 - vs Taokaka - kaino (JI) vs ABC (TA) - lose 12:31 - vs Litchi - ritto (JI) vs toeto (LI) - win 16:43 - vs Rachel - ritto (JI) vs usagi aisu (RC) - win 22:02 - vs Ragna - kiyo (RA) vs ritto (JI) - win 23:32 - FC Combo - 2C > 6C > 2D > 6B > 5C > 2C > 6C > DC > 5C > 6C > DC > jC > JC > j2C > j.214D. 25 meter. 4295 damage. 12. I'm sure at least one of us does... Especially those with gfs. I'll bring one just in case regardless. I'll also bring my toolbox in case anyone's sticks poop out somehow. Mine pooped out at Burnt Toast. One of my QDs got disconnected and I didn't have a hex with me.
  13. It seems pros wear glasses. I'll never be pro.
  14. Some tournament I'm guessing held at GC on 3/21. Not sure if this has been posted. http://gamechariot.com/g3_100321_1st.html Download the .mp4 vids at the bottom. Winner is dennou (left; Jin); Second place Chin (right; Hakumen).
  15. I updated my earlier post with all the Jin matches in the tournament. I am guessing a lot of these Jins are not regulars from the GC arcade or refuse to get recorded in casuals? Because I see a lot of unique playstyles here. As far as I can see, the Jin play here switches from very defensive to very offensive in a snap, tons of ice resets, tons of fireballs, etc. And a lot of RC'ing for Jin players. EDIT: wow, some of those vids lag like hell. Re-upping.
  16. Oh dennou, you card.
  17. From some recent GC tourny. I can't make anything out of it, other than what chars are being played. I will be uploading only the Jin ones. From here: http://gamechariot.com/g3_100321_1st.html (would appreciate if someone could translate the names of those in Jin videos). Grand final http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNo1UjhEXBA The rest, in chronological order: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF66th9jUmI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1PFonjlxDg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eion7_gh7lI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf4kxy0k0u0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMggRUDPFc8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtdnD_WM4nI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foE8ZTQwyYU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX3BHB1j9QU A Jin actually won this time.
  18. I'm gonna sign up as well as me friend vietnamese david. Dammit, and just when I put off finishing my PS2 stick dual mod last week during break, now I need it. So it's really only going to be MikeZ's setup or will there be an actual cab + MikeZ? Looks like I won't be getting any sleep for this event either
  19. Ye, a lot of magic can be done with a corner 6C, freeze, 6B, or 6D hit. Depending on the situation, you generally wanna do at least two 6C > 6D (then 6C > 6D > 623D if post freeze) if you score a hit in the corner. EDIT: Though I see some people doing 6C > 6D > 6D > sekkajin. Can anyone enlighten me on the pros of this? Another way he could have ended that after EX DP was to do 6C > 6D > 5C > SJ > j2C > 214D > 6C > 214C. Keeps in corner, should roughly do the same damage, but takes 25 more meter. All of Jin's heavy hitting corner combos are pretty much a variant of Dennou's 6.5k 75 meter combo. Learn his, and you'll easily learn the rest instinctively.
  20. Hmm, I dunno, too many dropped combos, lack of blocking, and failed purple-grab teching (talking about players btw). He sure likes to fish for 2C FCs though.
  21. I do EX ice car if near the corner. Then 6C > 6D > 5C > SJ > j2C > dj > j.214C. I think that's legit... Dunno if that's optimal. I'm a heavy meter user. If not near corner, then ya, 3C into 236C oki or 214C on large hitbox characters.
  22. GG's to everyone. I can't wait to hear the harsh commentary about me when the videos get uploaded . Did so horrible. I seriously need to get sleep for these things. I drove off the lane three times on my 1.5hr way home
  23. lol henaki left a comment. I wonder how many stars he gave the video.
  24. I was talking about sekkajin mashing by the way. Everyone makes their own cues for when to stop. Mine just happened to be aural.
  25. I just found out recently that I rely on the sound of the hits. The setup I was playing on was pretty low volume and I couldn't hear the hits, so I kept overmashing. Guess I should rely on it visually... A respectable Jin player I've seen counts his mashes and spaces them out. He does 8 iirc.
