  6. Honestly I don't mind the articles themselves. What bothered me was to see so many people acting like complete assholes on twitter. Maybe if people having different opinions than yours pisses you off so much then you shouldn't be on the internet. Sirlin doesn't like the throw OSs, I don't mind them considering that they are easy to perform anyway. Sirlin didn't like AC Potemkin, I didn't like AC Testamant. You can have your opinion and hear other people's opinions without being an asshole about it.
  7. They don't have control over optimized combos people will find etc., but they did make the effort to redesign the RC system to make it easier to use and apply. That's how I feel at least, it also sits well with Pachi's drunken rant from Elvenshadow's old story. (Just to remind: "GG will go 2.5D like SF4, FRCs and slashback removed for being hard to use etc.) In any case can't you still option select on wakeup by adding a 1 or 4 at the end of your reversal motion?

  10. You can't do it *anywhere* because the button presses for the YRC activate normals you may be able to cancel into, altaring the combo you wanted to do. You can probably do it in very specific places depending on the combo and button priority. For example if the opponent wants to burst during a Venom's c.S (the starter of his bigger combos) there's no OS that can prevent it, since c.S can be canceled into f.S, 2S, 5H and 2H, so I have no 3rd button to YRC with.
  11. I did it just fine normally, just dash for 2 seconds beforehand.

  13. In some missions you don't need 7/7 for S. In the reversal one 6 is enough.
  14. You only need 30 for the trophy, so no need to go OCD on the badly designed ones.

I'm making a list of "quality of life" tips for the console version, like mentioning different useful options that players may miss, the quickest way to unlock Sin etc. I remember ASW tweeting about recording and sharing combo videos or something using the game's interface. Did anyone find out how to do that?

  17. I'm 90% sure it was slayer who got hit in the example I mentioned. Early on people were doing random YRCs and getting hit out of them a lot so it would be good to review those videos or wait for the console release.
  18. Forgot to mention Ruu so that's fixed. Regarding YRCs there's an old video that got linked on Dustloop where Slayer gets hit and loses 1/4 bar, before the YRC flash gets to come out. It's an unclear edge case considering that even the frame data is unofficial, so it's probably best to wait for the game to be released and if needed, add a note to the video detaling things further.
  19. By "whiff" we meant that the active hitbox of the move did not make contact with the opponent. But I do think there's a range where the move can be "in recovery" and still get a YRC, and the developers can adjust the frame where the YRC window ends and the PRC window starts, per move. For example Sol's divekick seems to have an early PRC start window while other moves give you more leeway. See Faust in the video at 2:28.
  20. This is like the most no brainer banning case in recent years I can think of. Nothing of value will be lost if it's banned.

  24. So it seems that it won't happen after all. But we are still open to hearing about alternative ways that are more practical, if anyone has any.
  25. @BAKABaiken If you are going to judge "the justification" with a rate of how much information you cover for the hours spent to make it, then the "best" format is a simple text guide. (Which people should be writing and posting on DL regardless, if they aren't already) But that is a narrow way to look at things, because you ignore the 3rd factor of "allurement". In simple words- It's hard to get new people interested to begin with using text, or with a raw stream from your room. Let's be clear- The IADTV stuff is good, but if only you add that allurement factor, the same exact content can attract, and teach, a much bigger crowd. So if your only goal is to put information out there, write a text guide or use a cheaper video format. But if the goal is to get new people interested in the game at its higher levels and get more people in the scene, the pricy format does it best, and the exposure it has gotten so far proves it. If you have a way to get the same effect on new people without that much hard work, by all means I'm interested in hearing it. If the IGG fails we'll be moving on to other, smaller projects, and to try some more revolutionary ideas we have. We don't really lose that much by "testing the market" anyway.
