Great stuff Doggy First off it depends on what you have been using already. Theres countless ways to mix up a person based on the character, and May is no exception. Based on your experience, you need to sit down and think about what your opponent is most afraid of being hit by and work on a mix up from there. With manying, being hit low is the worst cause half the time it leads to a knock down which is, why I believe May's mix ups are evil. If your simply interested in learning new mix ups think about what tools May has along with the type of mix ups you can do, including, high and low type mix ups (where you attack overhead then low, or vice versa), cross over where you quickly attack the opponent from the other side, and tick throws which ima explain in a second. TOOLS The tools I use for Mix ups, are May's S Vertical Dolphin, her 5D/5[D] (Holding Dust), J.623 HS RR (Restive Rolling ya know the spin move, the HS version in the air hits overhead). And for tick throws I usually use 5K, and 2K, but I need to use p sometimes too. Along with all of that I try to have a dolphin hoop out to enhance my mix ups. MIX-UPS With a mixup, I believe the point is to force an opponent into a situation where he/she has to block. One of the best times for a mixup, is on wake up aka when your opponent falls down and is trying to get back up. Heres some options: >using K to start your combos on wake up, but im sure you do it already, you can't get thrown out of K, cause May's 5k has lower body invinciblity. This is a good time for a tick throw by simply doing 5k when the person gets up, then doing your command grab, after you recover from your K. >from K, S, or any part of May's combo that has a jump cancel you can mix up a person by jump canceling into something, such as an airdash into 2HS to the other side, or an 623HS RR. When you use the RR at the right height and distance, it can cross over and hit the person on the other side, just try that out :D. >You can go for a mix up when you lock up your opponent with J.HS, J.2HS, or 5HS, each of those locks up your opponent well. For example, one of the really simple, but lethal mixups is to jump or dash in to your opponent and do 2HS, and buffer (begin holding down), for a S Dolphin, and release it as soon as you get to the ground, if its close enough, it may even cross over the opponent. Or if your close enough when you get to the ground you could, 2k, 2D, into a combo, or forget the 2D, and just do 2K, into a S dolphin. 2k may not hit if you arent that close to the person when you use the j.2HS, or if the person uses Faultess Defense, so 2D is always an option. >If you lock the person up with 5HS, if you time it right you can do alot of stuff afterwards. Sometimes if im close enough after a 5HS, ill immediately do 2k into a combo or mix up, or sometimes do 5k into far 5S, into instant airdash into something. TICK-THROWS Just like Doggi mentioned, for tick throws you have to be rather close, if your normal throw range from a person and you do 5K, 5P, 2K, or 2P you can just put in May's command throw 63214k (OHK), but if your not close enough to follow up with a tick grab, just do 663214K, this means to type forward, forward so you can get some dash momentum and do the command throw. Any of those command grab set ups can go in with your mix ups, you just need to know when to use them, and you have to be brave enough to dash up to someone knowing if you time it wrong youll be thrown into a reversal or worse X_X :8/: EXTRA STUFF Another good way to set up from your command throw, is knowing the distance of your SVD, if you are far enough for it to whiff (miss) in front of your opponent you can immediately go into your OHK command grab. You usually gotta be about 2 May's :MA: or so away from your opponent when you do SDolphin you'll be in range for the command grab if you miss. To get the idea of it go to training mode, make your opponent normal guard, and do k,s,hs; or k, s, s, 2s, into either a SVD, or SHoriDolphin and you'll be in range :p.. Just remember if someone faultless defends, the range will be different. Also using her dust is always good as long as you don't abuse it so the opponent doesn't get used to it. Just learn the distance. I thinka bout using it randomly and when I believe my opponent is being to defensive. A good way to set up for a D mix up, is to lock up the person with a hoop dolphin and either go for the normal D, or the D feint. This one is a bit tougher cause the hoop would either have to already be out, or youd have to frc and go for it. Don't forget mix-ups aren't the only way to get dmg, if you haven't, check the first pages of this thread, cause I believe kyle listed many of the different types of play. You can get dmg by proper Hori/Verti dolphin spam, random pokes/hits especial 5HS, JHS, 2HS, and 6HS on counter, those all either stagger or make it hard or unable to recover. I hope that helps :D, sorry if it was a bit much , but when I go on a roll I don't shut up Just remember, one of your best weapons is your own creativity, sit down, and think about what you've seen and heard of, then try different way's to create your own mix-ups and combos, it takes more time than learning from others, but it makes this game really fun.

*Current Thoughts on Ino and her airdash combos* ........sniff sniff I love this game Im getting used to the motions, and doing combos like these are just so damn fun, the only problem is its harder for me to get it off on the left side, my hands get confused :/, Need more practice. The hardest thing for me is doing a 6frc6 with a 2D combo, the input window really is tighter than it is tiger kneed or airborn Im trying to take each step at a time, so once I get the left side down, ima work on the HCL 6frc6 on a stand alone HS, then when im brave enough try it with 5K , but I don't like depression so ima shy away from that for now lol. Thanks again for the tips, bucklemyshoe, and other guys Thanks to Ino, I made up some new tricks with May

No nice comments needed And when that time comes, ima do like this and be like I told ya so.

Brah, take him to the ooooooooooowned zone :8/: Vegeta, check this out, How to 6frc6 after HCL Thread, look at the bottom :8/: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1162&page=6 Stop discouraging ppl Kurum, it gets annoying Improving while trying your best is one thing, but stepping on others on the way up is another, it degrades one's character.

I said I couldn't seem to get passed 160, I think I did like 157 with a combo, but id have to confirm it, but that won't happen right now, cause I broke my only T.V. on campus, and Im behind in work, so im not goin out my way to hook it up to a lobby t.v., until I catch up somemore, Or ill be back where I started Edit: LMAO! I LOVED THAT VIDEO! IT WAS SO GHETTOFIED, I HAD TO LAUGH! LMAO, you even did the ol school paper static attraction to T.V. thingy, I haven't done that in ages lmao xD, oh man that was awesome.

Thats cause Sols shoes have pumps lol. The best thing for me to do is round robin everyone when I'm ready, for one of my first combos when I was practicing the 6frc6 on Sol, would be (half screen) s, 6p, HS, j.s, j.hs, HCL, 6frc6, HS, Dust, 236D, fall with him for a bit, HS, 236p, 66 S, HS, Dive/Super/CL. For some ppl this worked, others, id have to take out the J.HS, and HCL from the j.S. The rest worked just fine. Ill take all of this into account. Until I get the 6frc6 a bit more down for the land HCL, I won't be putting Ino into action just yet, shes still in training so I have time to round robin. Im more interested in my 6frc6 execution at the moment, the rest is the just grunt work, but this new technique is rough .

Cool Ill check that out.

Thanks for the advice. I know that much though, plus I know about JI effect cause I play May 75 percent of the time. I notice I won't really have to jump install in most situations because I'll be her dash in which has the auto install with the rest of the combo when it connects. I like 2S too cause not only does it hit low, it is a nice low poke and it doesn't prorate the damage as horribly as kick does >,> can't even get a combo passed 160 dmg off of 2K :/. Its a habit to practice on Sol, to me hes the most average practice dummy, since he has average HP/Def 1.00, an average body size and average float. I only try out confirmed combos on others other than sol, meaning, if I fully complete a combo or mix up I will move and try it on other characters, but if my combo or mix up is unfinished I don't move off of sol, cause if I don't finish my work on one training dummy the next one may give me questionable progress. My Ino practice fell down a bit lately cause I made up some crazy random combos with May (less VD loop with just as much dmg......OMG :O) so this week shes the star, with Ino on the side. Its been going back and forth like this for weeks :x.

JEBUS! DX! Trying to play with Ino is like trying to drive a fucking car! lmao, I be hitting those sharpe corners after her frc's lmao. Man, Im getting used to it, but her 2D, HCL, 6frc6 combos are fucking hard :/. its like after I airdash from the HCL, and do S I have to put in the next rotation and its so immediate, Im like Jesus Lmao, but its fun as hell though. I bet you if someone could play with Ino with a Racing controller, he or she would be......................UNSTOPPABLE O,,,...,,O MWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA, that shit would be funny though lmao. Edit: I see what you cats mean about not needing the s, or just sticking with the k as the start up, half of the time your coming in overhead with her dash, I was getting in the habit of using s, because I was practicing the 6frc6 based on that video, but I haven't really done s, 6p, Hs, that much recently, cause Ive been practicing with dashing in with S, or HS, to either 6P, HS, or 2S, 2D for combos. I still have alot of lab work to do though, I won't be Ino ready for a while cause I have to form my playing style.
-
Yes sir, I am I've just been practicing the jump install to get the feel for it. I won't be able to use s, JI, 6p, hs, HCL, 6frc6, for many combo purposes, but it could still work as a good mixup, so I still try to practice it. But yeah, hcl from 2D is rough im still trying to get it . Its not consistent yet :<.

I dont even know how that works, I got a Japanese Wii, does it work the same? That honestly made me laugh, no lol, I just laughed for real, that really catches my funny bone, I cant stop chuckling ahhahahaa

I finally check out the Come As you May video. And I have a question cause Ive seen it before. During a few of your combos, you FRCed and airdashed after a standing punch and I believe a crouching punch during one of your combos. Did your movements in the air that lead to the ground relaunch combo give that punch auto install or are you magic itself? :O

I hope you guys have fun, I didn't luck out this time, and I cant go :'<, but show them how May's supposed to be played, for me and the other May soldiers that can't go. I wanted to meet you and play you in some Smash and GG, but guess it will just have to be another time. I'll have alot more May stuff to contribute soon, cause Ive been deviously planning some things O,,..,,o. Its soon too come once I get some stuff straight IRL so I can focus on my guilty gearism. Sooner or later the Yoshi of Heaven (Blue Yoshi xD) will be comin your way :P Hope to see you sooner than later Kyle

Meh, I havent recieved anything in the Florida thread, so worse comes to worst, which is usually does, you guys will have to be a dynamic duo. I doubt the family vehicles will be free this weekend :/.
-
I think thats it, and combos from 2D always work its just sol is always so high. I belive 6P would work, Ive just always done it form, s, 6p, 5HS. I really think its his body, cause ive tried the same combo on others and I had lil problem with it :/. Either way I still need alot of practice
-
I used the method you mentioned, It works, and its really fun. Sometimes I can do it by frcing normally with PKS, i just have to put pressure on K first I think.
-
Cool. As he said if your gonna do a 6frc6 with no tiger knee dont forget to press up after your jump installed hit whether it be S or K. I just didn't mention it cause after I practice the combo string so much it just came with instinct. Just try not to press the attack button and JI at the same time. That can happen. Auto Jump Install Luckily its seems that you dont need to jump install if your combo starts in the sky, your install becomes auto if you do Inos dash in or airdash I believe. I practiced it myself. Most of my combos are on sol for now but ive tried others. This works on sol crouching: Dash, HS, 2S, 2HS, 2D, HCL, 6frc6, S, go to town. I tried Tiger Knee combos, at first the felt annoying cause I was too lazy to put in the up, but after getting the feel for them...........Tiger Knee 6frc6 combos are soooo much eaaaasier! omg. I dont even use a 360 motion i just kinda just hit 8 then 632146HCL. And for sol it seems easier to hit the S after Airdash with a tiger knee 6frc6 cause of the way he falls. Doing the normal JI, when I hit sol 80% of the time the S misses, or my S or HS sends sol behind me cause im too low. The combo I mentioned above works but S, 6P, HS, HCL 6frc6, S is a diff story :/.
