You could just play Ikaruga on Steam until Justice comes out. At least you'll stay in practice.

I'll let you know in a week. My biggest issue I had was the majority of people saying Vagabond early skills are kind of ass. A lot of low-level skills tend to be the basis of making combos so....
-
All the Fighter classes have cancels so you gotta just play around with that. M. Nen is so much better solo than in a party so you can rock the combos. Also check out the combo videos I posted. I'll be adding more, I'd love some feedback.

Vagabond looked SUPER COOL and I was like "I might actually play this" Then I saw gameplay video as well as the actual numbers and I cringed. Maybe I'll do Dark Templar for the support.

You mean you're looking forward to spam Blade Blast for 50 levels. By the way, you're going to be spamming Blade Blast for 50 levels. F. Slayer looks boring as fuck. Yeah. I said it. Hold dat.

That's probably the reason why. So you can't just hoard for avatar pieces that want to sell down the road. You make the active decision to either buy materials you need in game and cosmetic pieces from the shop in the future, or forego materials for free cosmetic pieces.

PSA: Spend your mileage before the 7th as it resets every month!

TD's post was pretty spot on, what else could you ask for? You have to figure out what your opponent might prefer to do and home in on shutting them down with the appropriate response. Some people will always wake-up throw so you can bait it out and punish. Some will chicken block, punish according to that. They just want to respect and block? You throw or keep blockstrings going.

100 mileage points for a permanent avatar ticket.

Clone Avatars are permanent. Look at it as an overlay. You can equip them even without avatar pieces and get the set bonuses with no cosmetic change. They DO NOT make limited time avatar pieces permanent. Their purpose is to give you stats for avatar pieces that don't give you stats so you have more cosmetic options without the sacrifice of stats. The clone avatar will be equipped with the look of whatever the last piece you had on was (or clones its appearance). If the avatar piece equipped expires, the clone avatar will still give you stats but will not retain the look. Don't care about F. Slayer. I want my global F. Fighter buffs.

I'm running a Kickstarter, and looking for input

And just when I thought Geocities and Angelfire was just a lost figment of my memories... The general consensus is that you should start from the ground up and improvise with what little resources you have. It's important to know how shit works at a basic level before you start fine-tuning with professional gear. Here's a suggestion: -Pick a FG on Steam. This is Dustloop so Im going to recommend +R -Download and set up OBS -Go into training lab, play for 20 minutes a day. Commentate on what you're trying to learn, observations, etc. -Do this consistently every day. Now you're building what's called a portfolio. A portfolio helps you build up credentials for yourself in a particular field that requires practical work, such as art or programming. People in the field of medicine or engineering usually get licenses after testing to show they understand the theoretical aspect of their professional field. -Let's say you do it for a month on youtube, you have videos, etc. Start small. Ask for $30 so you can buy a couple more games. This is much more reasonable because you do the same thing except now you're EXPANDING your portfolio. You can also improve it from people's feedback. Your vision should be something a long the lines of "I'm learning Guilty Gear, come learn with me!" because, frankly, I don't think you're an experienced FG player at all. -Staying committed is important when asking for investors. By uploading content every day, it proves that you're at least willing to make a commitment. Since there's no return on what you're asking for, Patreon would be a better suggestion than Kickstarter. Patreon is basically subscribing to someone creating content on a regular schedule. -
I'm running a Kickstarter, and looking for input
Hollysmoke replied to ThaddeusScherzo's topic in Beginner Mode
You don't even need more than like $150: -$20 Webcam -$20 Microphone/Headset -$15 for Accent Core / $15 for Skullgirls / $15 for KoF 13 / $15 USF4(Steam) -$0 for OBS and YouTube -$50 a month for high speed internet access Why in God's name would you need $4,000? You're not a professional, you wouldn't know what to do with professional equipment (hence the term PROFESSIONAL). If you can't afford that stuff on your own to start your YouTube channel and start building a portfolio on your own terms, then maybe you should research how starting a small business works. Welcome to the Dragon's Den known as life. -
-Turn on buff -Buff affects abilities that use items. That is all that matters.

These two points. Your plan states you want to make a game committed to fighting games, yet you want us to pay for these games, a stick, a console, etc. It might sound rough but saying you have a vision to bring everything together is far too broad. The boys and girls on the East Coast are selling t-shirts to get the top tournament-ranking players to fly out to EVO and represent. The end-goal is present with short-term steps to achieve said goal. You have a "weekly line-up" with no scheduling system whatsoever. This is just messy. If you want to use Kickstarter, understand that it's an investment system, not a donation system. What is my investment going to get ME? What is the return on my dollar? -$4000 is way too much. Why am I paying for you to even have a stick if you don't even have that? Why is your budgetary breakdown so vague? -Credibility. Who are you? Why should I invest in you and not just simply invest in another youtuber who's already doing the same thing. Why not make a portfolio at least? -Investment of your own time: Telling me "Ehh, I don't want to invest my own money because everything is hunky dory" doesn't exactly scream commitment to me. We're going to give you $4,000 and you expect us to just trust you on your word that you're going to, at random times, upload fighting game content that we already have access too, which may just stop at any moment because you're comfortable with your life and you don't want to ruin that? Nope. -

The fact that you just made a fresh Dustloop account is a little sketchy too me. As well as your twitter. This is basically asking for 4 grand to play video games. What niche are you trying to fill, exactly? What problem is there that you're trying to solve through kickstarter? How are you going to maintain a competitive edge against other Youtube channels? Your business plan is nearly non-existent and you have no credibility at all. -
And then it ded lol

Fighting games/ why am I lost? Please help.
Hollysmoke replied to snake2243's topic in Beginner Mode
I'm okay with helping people out or teaching them things, really, I am. However, as the proud owner of a pair of eyeballs, that really hurts to read. That being said, you also seem to be going from game to game to game before truly learning the intricacies involved with each. There's a cyclic nature to learning GG that I like to use when learning a new character: Step 1: Do the Mission Mode in Xrd. This teaches you fundamentals from movement to system mechanics. Yes, you know how to move left and right but do you know what your character of choice's movement options are compared to others? Step 2: Challenge Mode. This will teach you some basic combo routes while testing your execution (if you need help on that end). Clearing the challenge mode completely is also a confidence booster because it means you're able to play the character as needed. Although there's a lot of gimmick-y shit (hence, challenge), it also gives you a lot of BnB knowledge (IE Zato's challenge mode teaches you to set up unblockables). Step 3: Play with people. Try shit out. Make mistakes (it's okay). From your mistakes, you can go back and practice what you're messing up. Are you dropping that BnB you learned from Challenge Mode? Go figure out why or practice it some more. It's important at this point that you realize that you'll make mistakes. We all make them (anyone who says otherwise is full of shit). The experience comes from learning from those mistakes and not doing it again. -
350-400k xp each. Tower of the Dead x3 = 10% of your bar (it scales with level, so it'll always give you 10%). If you're 78, pop an exp potion and do the special dungeon run in a quick party on Time Gate A. That's how I burned through my fatigue during my lunch breaks. Hit 80 a couple days ago.

Don't bother, just go to the lvl 80 gear. Run dailies, easy peasy.

2S Vacuum YRC He just needs that knockdown to keep his momentum going. That used to be his gameplan but he lost the tools to do it.

[Xrd] Axl Low - Video Critique Thread, Watch the chains fly
Hollysmoke replied to APinkBuny's topic in Axl Low
-You used YRC Rensen only once. You should also apply it to blockstrings for pressure and to create safe space. -Your jump-ins kept blowing you up. It's really risky jumping in vs. Sol. Only go for it as a punish. -3P and 5P are your friend in this match-up. Properly spaced 3P just shuts down most of Sol's neutral game. This match up is actually heavily in Axl's favor. -214P/K are also helpful if you feel your opponent plays a little robotically. It's basically a free blitzshield. He was using a lot of f.S that you could have countered (although if you're spacing yourself right, he shouldn't be able to hit you with that). -5P and 2S are anti-airs you should have been using more often. You had it going on in the later matches. Midrange/anti-air is where Axl performs at. -Stop jumping in
