  1. The longer someone is kept blocking, the more likely they are to try and escape pressure. This is what Hilda does, she wants you to take that risk and capitalize off of it. There are characters that have their entire gameplan based around this in just about every anime game, including Venom in GG, Taokaka in BB, even Carmine is similar in that respect.
  2. Hyde- shoto Linne- shoto\pressure hybrid character with great mobility. Carmine- Heavy pressure. Makes you block until you cry. Eltnum- rushdown. Has an ammo meter gimmick for combos and neutral. Gordeau- Footsies. High damage, halfscreem normals, grim reaper. Waldstsein- grappler. Also able to rushdown in certain situations. Merkava- versatile with a slight emphasis on spacing Yuzuriha- stance/footsies. Dat neutral game tho. Seth- vortex/heavy mixup. Possesses nearly unreactable mixups but requires momentum to do well. Orie- footsies/oki. Well rounded. Vatista- zoner Hilda- zoner/pressure character with a reasonably well rounded toolset. Chaos- puppet/footsies. Not an actual puppet character. Neutral oriented. Akatsuki- shoto with lousy mobility and poor range. High damage.
  3. I agree 100% with this. To put in in perspective. In Blazblue, think about Terumi and Rachel for example. Terumi needs to learn how to open someone up and then do damage. Rachel needs to learn how to manage wind for multiple purposes including zoning, mixup, and hitconfirms. The thing is for most games, the best characters often have the steepest learning curve which in turn means more depth of gameplay. UNIB might be an exception with Gordeau, but for the most part, the worse your character is, the less you can pull of in the long run.
  4. Basically everyone who isn't Akatsuki or Chaos is viable for the most part. Gordeau, Waldstein and Merkava sit in top 3 while everybody else is more or less mid. Gordeau is apparently brain dead easy though. It reminds me a lot of the BBCS:EX tier list. 3 really powerful characters, a crapload of mid tiers, and 2 low tiers.
  5. Fridays will devolve into your Death Chicken vs my ass tier vortex character. It will be glorious.
  6. There is actually quite a distinct difference between the two. Seth is a vortex character, potentially the only true vortex character in the game. Linne on the other hand is a speedster/shoto hybrid with more of a well rounded toolset. It's quite likely that Seth is able to capitalize off of momentum better than Linne can, but he NEEDS that momentum to do well. The flip side of this is that once he gets momentum he can run a train on you with virtually un-reactable mixups and strong oki. Linne can rush your shit down but her mixup and momentum game are more honest and stable than that of Seth.
  7. I would guess that it has to do with the fact that even with Azhi Dahaka to cover him, he still cant control neutral like Gordeau, Yuzu, Waldstein etc... By himself he has lacklustre normals, and unlike other puppet characters Azhi does not actually allow him to pile on ridiculous pressure. His footsie game is still fairly good from what I've seen, but his offense is somewhat lacking and he has bad defensive options including the lowest health in the game. I still think he's a cool character and I get hype whenever I see him. Also keep in mind that he isn't THE weakest character in the game. Akatsuki is still a thing :P
  8. This is great stuff man, thanks! Good to know that he isn't total ass. And the no crossup thing does not bother me that much anyway since the vortex characters I play are based around high\low rather than left/right.
  9. So wait, is Seth actually that weak? I'm just curious because I'm used to my vortex characters being uhh, good. :/ Along with what Sourenga detailed, is it just a case of him not having pokes with bonkers range on them like the majority of the cast? I've seen videos of Seth absolutely destroying just about every character in the game, so I have a hard time believing that he's at least below mid tier. Is he still considered viable? Or is he just Akatsuki?
  10. Now that you mention dodging certain characters, I always wondered why I don't get many games with people who actually want to play me. Its like they see the little Valk sprite and see themselves to the other side of the lobby
  11. Meanwhile I'll be part of the small group of Seth mains hiding in the shadows... Fittingly enough. I cant imagine the Hyde army being too big of a problem, like all shotos he's gonna be easy to figure out.
  12. I picked this up thinking it would be a little distraction to dick around with while waiting for UNIEL. Turns out its actually really good compared to the last time I tried it when it was heinously broken! Looking forward to seeing some of you dudes online when the issue is fixed! I'll be representing my boy Caesar Zeppeli. Bubble lens oki for days!
  13. I'm not sure if the Merkava army will be a thing, but good god the Yuzu army is already amassing. It's going to be terrible.
  14. I'd like to know as well. First Hima playing Terumi and now this. If the best of the best are dropping Valk, something must not be right.
  15. Valk players are slowly becoming a dying breed it seems. This is pretty upsetting honestly. Takenoko is the player I got all my tech from...
  16. I've actually been looking at Chaos and he looks really cool. Im sure as hell maining Seth, but Chaos looks to have strong mixup and oki as well. I could be wrong though. Does he have ridiculous offense? Or is he more spacing oriented?
  17. Is a sequel even going to be a thing at this point? The current game isn't even finished, lol.
  18. Holy shit, thanks LK! This is really good stuff! I end up getting spooked by Jin all the time, so I can't thank you enough for this! Gonna go grind some punishes!
  19. I wish I didn't feel the way I do about it, but Terumi himself is like a giant peeve to me. I never feel like I can learn anything from facing a Terumi other than arbitrary shit like "don't press buttons". He has no interesting mechanics to work around or cool matchup specific stuff. Just block low for days and kill them for pressing buttons, it's so brainless and dull. The fact that there is a literal army of Terumi's online at all times does not help either. It makes Netplay more of a chore than anything else. No disrespect to Terumi players though, play whoever the hell you want.
  20. Seeing those buffs makes my character loyalty skyrocket even further. I'm probably maining this guy alongside Yosuke now, except Yosuke is taking the backseat. WHO'S THE MAN!
  21. Chaos Code is the epitome of the word "decent". Almost to a fault. Anyway. Is there any word on whether or not UNIB will be available as a digital download off of PSN? Not sure if that would be a given or not since BBCP is the only game I've ever imported and I don't know how all this cross-country mumbo jumbo works.
  22. It would definitely be a stretch to assume Under Night would gain a following on par with P4 or Xrd, but there will still be a dedicated (if slightly niche) group of players. I can imagine it being around the same level of popularity as something like Skullgirls, which is one of, if not my favorite, fighting game of all time. Regardless , I wil do everything I can to promote the game and keep information flowing, I might even overhaul Seth's Mizuumi wiki article. I hope there are people here who are willing to do the same!
  23. I'll split the cost with you for the glory that is game sharing.
  24. This is the best news I could possibly wake up to! Seth, my man! Lets freaking go!
  25. Mu is the better character overall, but she falls under more of a hybrid zoner description. Nu on the other hand is about as pure of a zoner as you're going to get in this game. She has more weaknesses than Mu however, so playing her would be a challenge. Though considering you play Tsubaki, I can assume you don't mind the uphill battle :P
