  1. Platinum is already regarded as one of the weakest characters in the game. I'm curious to hear your reasoning. Have you been playing against some hella good Platinums? XD
  2. If you know he can bait it, why are you just throwing raw distortions at him? Catch him while he's in the middle of a move. It's a bit more complicated than you make it out to be, in no way does he have a "get out of distortion free" button. Although me just plain sucking is another possibility and I haven't been abusing the shit out of it.
  3. I hope we get more Millia info soon. I want to see what she can do with her roll followups! Valentine looks pretty sick as well, her sword oki setups make me think that she may be akin to the Dizzy of Xrd.
  4. - Make overdrive more viable outside of adding damage to super Enders. - Make Konig Flug not suck ass (dat 700 minimum damage). - Make spending wolf meter a more dedicated decision. I seem to be able to just steam roll people without worrying about my meter, though this is probably something I should feel good about. -Bring back 236B RC into ALL THE DAMAGE (Extend nostalgia flowing) -Maybe make wolf pressure a bit more punishable to stop people from bitching. -Dont bring back 5A low. Wolf sweep is already the holy grail of lows. - Increase his Astrals horizontal hitbox to something that isn't the width of a slim jim. - Make Valk's challenge 30 doable by anyone who isn't a cyborg from the future or Kiba. I can't really think of anything else because Valk is already really good and I don't think I want to see him get any better or worse. More than anything, I want the rest of the cast to get better so they can have a more fun time against us. Valk is one of those characters who is inherently good by design. I don't think it's really possible to make him bad, or even average. It's the same as Akuma in Street Fighter, Iori in KOF, or Millia in Guilty Gear. Heavy mixup/oki based characters are always strong, which is why I think Valk is in a good spot. All we need is for the characters who aren't to get better.
  5. Stylish Kagura for Evo winner 2014.
  6. Haha, that sold it for me. Seth it is then!
  7. Just dropped by to offer my condolences to all the Bang players losing the FC 3C combo. That shit was hilarious to watch.
  8. @FenrirHades I'm curious to hear what is it about Hazama that bothers you so much. From my experience, he is one of the most effective characters in the game without being too ridiculous. It's also pretty hard to autopilot with him. If its his normals, which ones in particular. Hazama's normals are generally good, with the exception of his 2A being REALLY good. The only one I could see being irritating is his 5C because it leads to ridiculous damage with Houtenjin, but that's just Hazama's gimmick. I'm just asking because I frequently play a Hazama player, so I like to hear other opinions.
  9. Yeah, I had heard that Orie and Carmine had some great oki options, the problem is that I generally like my characters to have good mobility as well. Carmine seems a bit sluggish in comparison to most of the cast, I could probably make Orie work though. If what Rurouni says is true and Seth's oki is good, I might be leaning towards him. It's not like this should even matter all that much, haha. It feels like it will be a billion years before we can actually own it.
  10. I've been wanting to try this game for the longest time, but the lack of a console release is preventing from doing so. Regardless, I have a question for people who know more about the game. What character in UNIB classifies as the "mixup" character. I'm talking heavy rushdown into a knockdown leading to 50/50 oki setups or whatever the closest thing would be in this game. I was always on the fence about who I wanted to use because I was never sure who fit my favourite playstyle. All I could gather was either Lynne or Seth, though I still don't know if I'm correct in that assumption or not. Any info would be appreciated because this game gets me super hype and I'm excited for the day I will get to play it.
  11. All those loops tho. Kiba, you're a madman.
  12. I've been using a really good midscreen to corner wolf confirm combo that I saw Hima pull off once. It's wonderful because the confirm itself is all the wolf usage you need. It looks goddamn amazing too! I didn't see it on the list so I figured I would share it. j.C > 5B > 5C > 6D > j.A > h[5B > 2C > 6C > IAD > j.B > j.214B > slight pause > 6B(1) > 236C > slight pause > 236A >3C > 236B] 3211 DMG, 23 Heat. Does not work on Carl or Makoto (2C, 6C whiffs) You can omit the 236B ender for Sturm, but you probably know that already.
  13. So I've been trying to experiment with new ways to implement overdrive into my gameplay outside of adding damage onto Konig or Sturm. Do you guys know of any OD specific mixups? With the amount of mobility Valk gains, there has to be some crazy shenanigans you could pull of in OD.
  14. I think Arcsys knows the design of the character well enough that they wouldn't make disc oki obsolete. That is what makes Millia as a character!
  15. Sent you a PM regarding voice work.
  16. I tried fighting an Amane again the other day. Nothing worked. It's still awful. Arcsys plz fix.
  17. This is the mindset that I sort of share. I will admit that I have no right to be complaining about characters, My main (Valkenhayn) is really freaking strong and he has always been that way. But I like to draw the comparison to something like Extend, where Ragna was the god. He sat there prodding you with 5B, knowing you couldn't do shit about it. The slightest hit led to a bullshit easy confirm into the corner for like 4-5K, and he would drop a hilariously good deadspike on you for good measure. One more hit led to Blood Kain and another absurdly easy confirm and you were just dead. It was one of the only matchups in that game where Valk was at a disadvantage, though it was slight. It took me two and a half years of grinding before I reached top 8 status in my local scene, and it was not easy. There was so much to learn about my character that every single match made me better, and I was always discovering new ways to screw with people's heads and open them up. This is still true in CP, where Valk received a huge overhaul. He basically became a new character to learn, so I'm still discovering shit on a daily basis. I still can't count the number of times I've crossed my own inputs up or botched a wolf brake, sending me rocketing off into space like a hairy lunar lander. Having all these options is why I adore this character so much. It's also why I can't for the life of me enjoy characters like Ragna and Jin, where it basically boils down to "footsies + high/low + the same optimal combo = death". I sometimes feel that all the complaining about these "complex yet OP" characters is just because some people are ignorant to learning the matchup. I was playing my friend the other day, and he was getting salty about wolf mixup. I just told him "Dude, just watch for my w5C and try to IB 2A". It worked. I then had to readjust my pressure because he knew what to look out for and I would eat shit for my mistakes. And when Valk eats shit, it can often spell the end of the round having arguably the worst defensive options in the game. I don't play this character because he is easy or broken or gives me an advantage. I play him because he is a badass in a suit who can kick you to death in 100 different ways. TLDR: There is a line to be drawn on what constitutes as "braindead" or "OP".... Except Kokonuts.
  18. I can totally see Izayoi being ridiculous. She has the tools she needs, she was just executed poorly.
  19. Mother of god...
  20. Haha, absolutely not. I would feel bad if we did XD
  21. And go back to CT?! I don't know about that, I've heard the tales of her dominance from BB vets XD I should be able to hop on later though. That way you can body me with Litchi some more.
  22. Not at all, I got to play it at a tournament a few weeks ago. The Combo breaker system mixes reactions and RPS together very fluidly, meaning that there are mindgames out the wazoo. All the characters are really unique (save for Jago, fuck that guy) and really make the game fun from matchup to matchup. I recommend giving it a try if you get the chance. Sadira represent :3
  23. That's one thing I never understood about Terumi. People complain about his mixup being ass (which it is) yet I never hear about Terumi doing crazy RC shenanigans. I'm no expert on the character, but surely his surplus of meter should give him more freedom to pull all sorts of BS with rapid cancels. If the mixup fails, he could still continue his strong pressure and gain it back in no time right? Loads of characters make it work (I'm looking at you, Jin) so why not Terumi?
  24. You beautiful man, you. Thanks a bunch dude! It looks kickass!
  25. Millia army assemble! The lack airdash cancelable moves has me scratching my head though. Does this mean we lose out godlike corner carry?
