  1. -Elvenshadow 2014 Anyways. Have there been any new shenanigans shown with Millia, I'm interested see what the system changes would do to her oki.
  2. I never really knew what the hell to do if you land Nacht Rozen in the corner. This will help a bunch. Thanks man!
  3. One thing that has me scratching my head is the removal of her already incredibly limited number of gatling routes. They were generally pretty lousy in +R, so I don't understand why they keep getting rid of them. Is 2K, 5S, 5HS, 2D all we are gonna have by the end of this? It's starting to feel like it. But hey, Millia is still Millia. She will probably still be gdlk
  4. Bullet is absolutely one of the most straightforward characters in the game. Couple that that with her potential to completely blow people up, and I would say you've picked a solid character. Be prepared for some tough matchups against characters with strong neutral though, they give her a VERY hard time. That won't really last for too long though, she is getting substantially better in the upcoming patch. As for Carl being ass tier. What are you smoking? Carly is still strong in CP and can kill you so hard if he gets to play his game. If it were up to me, he would be A tier. And on the topic of newbie players. I tried to explain vortex mixup to a friend the other day. The response I got was the best: "Dude... That sounds fucking intense." He knows what's up.
  5. I've heard that j.HS was just a straight up knockdown now. I'm not sure how she would score one with the pin, seeing as how the old 6HS is gone.
  6. I would play Seth purely for the hype factor. I have been told that both Seth and Carmine have a really good vortex game. The difference I've seen is that Seth seems to have more options, though they may be riskier. I'm not interested in Carmine for the same reason I'm not interested in Aigis is P4U. Despite the fact that on paper they fit the character archetype I love, they just do the same thing over and over (Aigis moreso than Carmine, but you get the picture). There were times watching Seth players where I had to rewind the match and watch a mixup again because it happened so fast it was almost unseeable. That is the kind of thing I look for!
  7. I played Biscuits online. He pulled like 7.5K with 50 Heat. Arakune can definitely still freaking kill you.
  8. Seriously though, that didn't sound right to me either.
  9. My recommendation would be to just grind out the loop using 3C. It's more reliable overall, pushback is a non-issue, and once you've conditioned yourself, it becomes easier than with 2C or 1C.
  10. I laughed harder than I should have.
  11. Is there a list of the changes revealed for Izayoi in the new patch? I'm asking because I'm planning on subbing her when the patch comes out. I can't wait for this character to become the crazy mixup machine she was supposed to be.
  12. Don't even tease me with what-if scenarios like that. We all know the world isn't THAT ideal.
  13. Part of me really agrees with this. I play with people who are used to playing my Valk, and in turn they are really good at blocking my mixup. People need to take the time to realize the our mixup is just as much method as it is madness, and like anything in fighting games, can be dealt with if practiced. Though it might be hard because not many people use the character, but hey, just some food for thought.
  14. That feel when college student. No evo for me
  15. I am definitely a fan of how civilized this Valk discussion is, it usually turns into something much worse. Although I'm not so sure about the talk of removing his 50/50 mixiups. His oki is the trademark of his gameplay, Removing it would sort of defeat he purpose of his design. It would be like removing magnetism from Tager or making Ragna's footsie game trash. There has to be a happy medium in there somewhere. Although I will wholeheartedly agree that Valk is a bit better than he needs to be, though IMO the other top tiers save for Hazama have way way more versatility, making them more ridiculous.
  16. Don't act like you don't enjoy hearing Doug Stone make wierd dog/old man noises I still play in English anyway, but as a voice actor myself I can tolerate it.
  17. I think Arakune is justified in that regard. If you let him get to curse, you messed up and deserve the punishment.
  18. Because GG players are grizzled old men who have memorized an encyclopedia of matchup knowledge. And people do complain about Millia. Believe me. Heavy rushdown/oki characters will always be subject to the scorn of the community. Nah, seriously. Guilty Gear, while it has its imbalances (Chipp is way too good in +R IMO) mostly depends on player skill and the flow of he game in general is is more free form and less flow-charty , so in the right hands even Bridget can blow Zappa the hell up. Blazblue is just a straight up less balanced game where someone like Izayoi is just going to freaking die against someone like Litchi. Watch any Japanese GG tournaments and you will see every character in the game being used on a viable level. BB does not seem to share that luxury. This is why I hope that the March patch just makes everyone below A tier able to compete, because the gap between S/A and B/C is way larger than it needs to be.
  19. So I have to buy the terrible anime to bring about the return of Hype Dog. Why is life so cruel.
  20. Aaaand now my guide seems useless in comparison. Thanks for being so gdlk, Magaki. In all seriousness though, it's good to have multiple writeups I feel. Azreal is one of those characters that will make your life hell if you aren't aware of the holes in his gameplan. So this should be good for any newer players at least.
  21. @Elvenshadow B..b..but it's called Xturd for a reason! Just kidding, I am so freaking hype for this game. Keep feeding us all the delicious info you can find! @Ronove Yeah it makes a lot more sense to have the pin on wake up, and I'll probably be more thankful for it than anything. It's just that those +R Enders looked... SO freaking cool.
  22. So she got CP Bang AD combos. I can dig it. Any news on her j.2HS being used? Maybe we can get the good old j.2HS > j.214S > 6HS ender again for oki.
  23. Great writeup dude. Fortunately this is a matchup I never have to deal with. It seems like a royal pain in the ass. At least I'll be prepared now!
  24. Oh my god, I finally am able to consistently land brake j.A. So this is true power.
  25. I agree about Tsubaki being solid this time around. If she has the resources available, one touch from her will just freaking kill you. In terms of "the weakest character" I really only see Amane and Izayoi as the only two that have trouble being viable. Characters like Makoto, Plat, Tsubaki, and Bullet can win, you just have to have really strong fundamentals. I wish the same could be said for Terumi, but goddamn I don't know what Arcsys was thinking when they made that character. "Run really fast, have hilariously bad mixup, and spend meter to get meter back. Derp." A friend of mine had to stop playing him because he couldn't stand how low the skill ceiling was and how little you have to think. Poor Terumi, he deserved better.
