Do we have any 1.1 videos of Valk doing something other than jumping around and dying? Or are the players actually having as much trouble adjusting to the changes as it looks? This worries me, besides the Urban Square 3on3 it was looking really bleak.

A good thing to take note of is in anime fighters, learning how to space yourself is incredibly important. Since we don't have any "Derp, I want a mixup for free" mechanic like assists in marvel, you have learn which of you normals are good for covering your approach. Ragna's j.C for example is a strong aerial spacing tool that forces your opponent to respect the airspace in front of you. Bullet's 5B is a solid spacing tool and her 6B is a decent anti air, so using those should help you assert dominance in neutral. Sometimes, trying to go on the all out offensive in neutral isn't the best idea. Sometimes you will want to use what movement you have to bait your opponent. I don't know a huge amount about Bullet, but I do know that her j.C is a really strong air to ground tool that you can use to fish for whiff punishes. On the other hand, Bullet is pretty weak in the air during neutral (not counting her j.D and C, both of which are still pretty unsafe) so you should focus on forcing your opponent to respect you with your strong ground normals and pressure. There's a guy in my scene who described her in a hilarious way: "Bullet tickles you twice and then fucking kills you". Try practicing whiff punishes, footsies, and anti airs. These will improve your gameplay immensely.

Good games as always to Someonewhodied. My Valk has finally become legit enough to lose only two out of 3 games against your umpteenth sub.

Is it even worth using then? Are there certain characters that would have a harder time dealing with it than standard 6C > 3C oki? I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of using this rather than the standard ender and I'm still left scratching my head.

I've been wanting to implement safe jump setups into my corner game, but I'm drawing a complete blank of figuring out where and how to apply them. I know Valk can end certain combos with w.jB and then double jump into human for a falling j.C, but the issue again is what combos this applies to. Any tips on how to properly pull off a safe jump setup and in what combos?

I'm down for some baseball. After Junpei devastated my feels in P3, I feel it is my duty to rep him when I actually try to get into a P4A game. I also feel he may actually be a tad better than the supposed B-tier ranking. Are his ridiculously high damage punishes, great damage conversion, and solid normals not enough? Keep in mind that I do know that it's a P4 game so high tier characters are f***ing stupid/strong for various reasons (looking at you Narukami). I do mainly play BB and GG however so my P4U knowledge is pretty scrub tier and I might be talking out of my ass.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Stellarcircle5 replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Those are really solid reasons I suppose, although it shouldn't really come as a surprise that Millia's tachimawari is weaker than the other A/S tier characters (let's face it, she won't be below A). If her neutral game was as good as Sol or Ky she would be way too good. I'm all for people having fun with a character a well. It's just shitty seeing the best Millia hopping aboard the already packed Faust train when the number of Millia players is already low. Here's hoping Nakamura will bring some of his wild playstyle in full force for Xrd. I've been wanting to see him play more than anyone else. -
[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Stellarcircle5 replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
I really don't see the point in this debate given it is one of the most discussed subjects on anything anime related. Arcsys may keep in line with old GG games and leave it as JP voices only. Then again, given that their other two fighting franchises feature pretty solid localization in the voiceover department, it wouldn't be too surprising if they added an English cast. There are valid arguments on each side, but the console version is still a ways off, and the game is still really new, so I wouldn't be sure on either outcome just yet. But if there IS an English cast, Ali Hillis as Millia plz. -
[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

Oh god this makes me so sad. As if everyone and their mom wasn't using Faust already. -
I was initially worried that new themes would sort of mess with the presentation of each character. Oh boy was I wrong. Millia still has the fast beat accompanied by spooky keyboards and ridiculous shredding, Slayer still has the jazz vibe going on, and May still has a theme that sounds like its straight out of Sonic the Hedgehog. Millia, Holy Orders III, and Bedman are probably my favourite right now. People are complainingthat it sounds too similar to BB and I have no idea what they are talking about. This still sounds like GG through and through.
-
With Xrd out and videos of Millia pouring out over various channels, I've been getting really hype for GG, so I've been really practicing over the last month trying to become at least decent with Millia. I have one question however. In various guides it says that FB disc allows Millia to perform two mixups in a row. I can't seem to wrap my head around this for whatever reason. What are some examples of double mixup followups to FB disc? I do know about FB disc -> Iron Saviour -> FRC -> j.K but that is about as far as my knowledge of her truly filthy mixups goes. Any tips from you old grizzled vets would be awesome.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
Stellarcircle5 replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Now I'm just lurking this thread waiting for whatever announcement they are making. Console port, please be a thing!!! -
Immediately searched and found nothing. You have a source link? I need my OST fix now!
-
Do we have any easily audible clips of Millia's new theme floating around? I hear the main hook in it and it drives me insane how good it is. Problem is the game is so loud and bombastic that I can't hear the rest of it past the 10 second godlike guitar playing.
-
I would be really sad if Nakamura dropped Millia. He has always been my favorite player and I'm really excited to see what he brings to Xrd.
-
God dammit. Just when D-Gray man was the only Jump series I've seen that I thought was really good... Katekyo Hitman Reborn has kind of a special place in my heart, so right now Tsuna is one of the few I legitimately want to play.

I sort of think that the new game engine sorts of helps to iron out some things that were kind of dumb. For example, FB Pretty Maze was REALLY good, almost a bit too good in my opinion. H-Tandem YRC looks like a fairer version of it. I am however not a fan of her air dash cancels being gone as I find it will make her pressure game even weaker (I love cancelling a dash in j.S). In terms of how her matchups go, they seem mostly similar in that characters with strong normals can still give her a hard time. Overall she seems like a "fairer" Millia than before, but I don't let that discourage me because by design she is still really good and she can still steamroll people once she gets her oki going. iaintevenmad.jpg

Allen Walker is in!? My god, this game keeps looking more and more hype!

A sad truth about BBCP is that there is a level of BS that certain characters have a hard time dealing with. Given that you play Amane, Tsubaki, and Mu I would actually recommend grinding the latter of the three a bit harder. I personally would never recommend someone to try to learn real competitive tactics using Amane and Tsubaki. Mu is incredibly solid in neutral and getting a good grasp on her in particular on a competitive level would really benefit your overall gameplay. After you feel really competent with Mu, you could pick up Tsubaki and Amane again, apply your knowledge learned from Mu, and start finding ways to play around their big weaknesses. I'm doing the same thing to learn Arakune right now! I don't want this to come off as "Play an S tier or don't bother" because that is flat out wrong. I play Valkenhayn and get consistently bodied by Tager for god sakes! I just wouldn't want to make it harder for myself during the learning process. Just some food for thought.
-
Like I said, it's just Extend Ragna syndrome. If Netplay is worth dabbling in, it will be a nightmare given that it will be an inevitable breeding ground of Sol players...
-
Holy balls. Can't wait to see N-O body everyone.
-
Now I guess I have to learn the game legitimately! Demon Nun hype!!!
-
What changes were made to Clarice? I felt like a fraud playing her and abusing her 4C. Did it get nerfed?
-
I guess you're right. +R Chipp is an absolute nightmare... Time to start grinding VV baits!
