Guilty Gear characters BlazBlue style (gameplay-wise)
Poultrygeist replied to Domayv's topic in Zepp Museum
Not to sound like a dick, but I don't think you "get" the GG characters. -
Missing your head doesn't mean much really. Unless I'm doing something wrong, you indeed can only have one Task A form out at the time, including DV. They were very cautious with Bedman.
-
Just got done doing a set. I was super tired so I'm not confident in my play, but f.S feels like a godsend in this MU.
-
You can't air to air with j.5P? I've never been in that situation TBH.
-
Alright cool. Thanks.
-
@ Eshi do you have notation for this vid of yours? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN5MbNxLu4Q I mostly just need to know which ball summons are used, I can figure out the rest.
-
That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for elaborating. I always felt like air movement got us around faster because of our lack of a traditional ground dash, but yeah I guess we're pretty unsafe doing that.
-
So any ideas on who might get cast as the remaining characters? Obviously I have no basis for any of this, just casting I think would make sense. Kliff -George C. Cole Testament - Grant George Anji - Todd Haberkorn doing his Yun/Natsu voice Jam - Either Michelle Ruff or Hunter Austin Bridget - Bryce Papenbrook if they want him to sound specifically male, Laura Bailey doing her shota voice if they want him to be more androgynous Zappa - Steve Staley Raven - Patrick Seitz doing his "evil guy" voice (Dracula, Dio, Nyarlathotep, etc)

Elph is fat? Why does stuff drop on her easier than other chars then? I thought she had a small hitbox like May?
-
That's really weird. I tried the combo on Elphelt and it seems to work fine so it probably isn't a hitbox size thing.
-
Those are Deja Vu seals. TD went into more detail but in case you still don't understand, they are spawn points for the "Deja Vu" version of the move. For example after you do Task B you can input 214S to have a ghostly Bedman spawn from the position of the seal and perform Task B himself. If you perform Task B elsewhere with the seal present onscreen, the seal will move to your new position.

What "sounds black" anyway? That's pretty fucking insensitive to say. Anyway Venom actually sounds REALLY good in story, just abysmal in gameplay. IDK how that works.
-
TBH that AA combo seems fine to me. It's what I use, and if there's something better I don't know of one.
-
This is an interesting opinion to consider. Do you think many of our MUs would become easier if we kept to the ground? I can certainly see why you'd feel this way, but something about giving up our air movement (or at least just not abusing it) rubs me the wrong way. For this one specifically though I'd agree with staying on the ground because, well, it's Faust.
-
Just practice it man. I was having trouble landing the IAD part too but if you keep at it it works like a charm. How are you inputting the IAD? Also if you're not dashing far enough try dashing a little further to make sure you're closer to the corner and won't wiff the air gatling. Just a few possible solutions.
-
Does the instant overhead combo not work on thin chars period? I'm trying it on Elph and even out of crouch state it seems kinda finnicky. As for corner KD throw combos, I usually keep it simple and do the 5K f.S jumpcancel route. I really don't wanna risk dropping against the skinny chars.
-
This is probably obvious to us, but for the benefit of those getting into Bedman, for anything that involves air movement->attack you might want to try inputting the attack along with the air movement instead of after. For instance, you want to do 886KS as if you were doing 6K as the move's input. Not sure if this actually means anything or if it's a placebo effect, but it helps me land the whole thing better.

Bedman Q&A/FAQ thread: People play this guy I swear!
Poultrygeist replied to Poultrygeist's topic in Bedman
If only DVTC was an overhead, then we'd have a true unblockable like everyone else does! :U -
Didn't really have much time to play because of Christmas stuff (how ironic) but I'll see if I can get in to actually fight you guys this week.

Bedman Q&A/FAQ thread: People play this guy I swear!

I agree with Madworlder. What kind of I-No did you fight that didn't just dash in and blast you? Not trying to sound mean, I'm just saying that was the I-No's fault, I wouldn't get into the habit of throwing it out on everyone who plays the char. Sometimes that's what you gotta do though, fight the player and not the character. -
LOL WHAT.
-
I wish you had mentioned that f.S jump cancels, I feel it's a very important normal for that reason. I've had a lot of success starting pressure with f.S 866 j.5K j.5S or using it to bait DPs with f.S 882.
-
Speaking from experience, on less than favorable connections it's real easy for I-No dash to get stubbed by 6P mashing
-
I don't like using meter on Helios because GG reversals are stricter than other games and because there are uses I feel more comfortable with. However if you do use it it's so + that you won't suffer much besides losing 50 tension. On a unrelated offtopic note, I hope all my Bedbros have a good holiday. Stay safe, there are few of us as is!

As I said, I do feel like Bedman could be a lot better. Maybe I'm just being hopelessly optimistic, but I think the revision/sequel/update to this game will have good things in store for him. After all Xrd is the first game of the new system, and is therefore a testbed (tee hee) in many ways. For now I think that while he struggles he does have things that make him scary. If you're really not confident in him, I would advise learning a backup/pocket character for certain matchups.
