[CP] Vita Match Finder/GG Thread
Liminal18 replied to vKhalinpopopodhd's topic in BlazBlue Online Play
Same. BB:CSE was a relatively smooth experience for me even though I live in a super lag zone (Vietnam) I am not sure what the deal is, but BB:CP is buggier than CSE and the mandatory PSN login is annoying. Especially because PSN is down right now. They need to patch CP badly. @ventus beware the game does freeze in load screens sometimes. Not as often once your copy is broken in, but it doesn't feel as polished as CSE did. Edit: LOL thanks for coming into my room tonight LostDrive good thing you left because the lag is HUGE tonight. Whats the latest version with online play?

The vita version still doesn't have online play correct? Just ad-hoc? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Liminal18 replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Lol well I just bought BlazBlue Calamity Trigger on steam despite already owning the windows live version and also not having a PC right now. My 9.99 is for Xrd on PC also, the post X characters can now be included because of a new deal with Sega? P.s. I probably just upticked BB:CT sales on steam because of P.R. Double speak. -
Why is online player matching so broken?
Liminal18 replied to Tronotron's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
You level up when you lose because experience is experience. You might not win, but at least you learned something. When I get in games with more experienced players (and that happens to me 90% of the time) and I am losing, that is usually when I just decide to try something new or well at the very least it gives me some information on which moves take priority. Regardless, what you are complaining about is rampant in all fighting games match making. I remember in SF IV being regularly matched against people near max level with their character on my first match with a character. BB:CP at least usually finds someone with in 2 levels of me. I only played a level 12 once as a level 6. Also while you might not find that many players near you and playing at the same time, if you try you will find people playing at the same time with minimal lag. Ask to friend them and then you will know when they're online and vice versa. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
In terms of complicated characters the art design was more mature from SF II in terms of controls I was just assuming the controls got more complicated aka parrys, the ex moves that allow you to juggle, and such. I am fairly a noob to fighting game mechanics so forgive me if Sf IV uses the same control scheme as SF III. Edit: and SF IV did not have parries. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

For what its worth SF3 failed commercially, but was also somewhat badly timed. SF 3 advertised a more mature play style, sadly the average SF fan didn't want more complicated characters & controls. Dark Stalkers had numerous revisions and sequels, but also failed to take off the way SF did. Capcom's decision to make SF IV more mechanically similar to SF2 / Alpha was a direct result of what has succeeded in the past. In other words it a reboot to the series "roots" and intended as such. Now that they lost MvC the question remains if they will reboot another fighter in an attempt to diversify their fighting game roster? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

This actually makes me wonder about story mode since in BB it was sprite based, but in GG xrd its all 3D hence will the characters do scenes using the backgrounds i.e. It becomes even filmic or will it just be close up of characters, voice, and text boxes again, sadly seems to be the later so far, but these pics did sell me on the game. Whos taking time off when XRD finally releases for console?
Liminal18 replied to r0b0t's topic in Guilty Gear General
Its an interesting questions because with Persona 4 Arena you're dealing with a really different engine that handles hefty sprites with Xrd you're getting Unreal which has network code primarily intended for FPS games. The new engine could improve it or might make it even more untenable. I am in Vietnam and finding decent net games is a pain. Still, come december I might have fiber optic and a ps4. We'll see. -
thanks. Yeah it looked familiar. Hopefully it plays ok. That fmv visual novel in comiket 86 looks cool too.

The tutorials do a pretty in depth job of this, but that is for people who already own the game. For researchers who might want to know the why And how of BlazBlue before they buy this might be invaluable and seeing as how most people skip tutorials anyways it might work. I say go for it. Especially if you can elicit for how BB distinguishes itself from SF and other fighters.

The How and What regarding thinking in matches and adaptation
Liminal18 replied to TeeJay's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Regarding if you've made fighting game more complicated I played Vampire Savior in college everyday. I played my roommate once and obliterated him. I set up a ps2 or maybe it was a 1 with marvel vs. Capcom in another dorm and was number 1 for weeks then one summer one of my regular playmates said he was going to some arcade in miami and pay some folks to teach him MvC when he came back i couldn't beat him. I played more and for longer hours, it was like all i did, but not understanding the gameplay systems, his knowledge of what's possible was just immense. I practiced & practiced and he was better even if he put less time into it. My point being, you can love playing the game and that experience will make you better. The environment in these games shapes you and with out thinking you'll know Jin has a certain attack, but understanding the game completely is vital to survive. Something which i am only now learning with BB my Amane is pathetic in ranked i think like 18% wins or something. -
Rail station has BlazBlue's most active backdrop with folks showing up all the time. But the little penguin and the blue guy always take it for me. We get to see BlazBlue characters discussing with other humanoid characters, but who out of the background would you like to main? That blue dude and the penguin need to be in this game P.s. He needs to be a grappler.

Well she is a terrible person herself so... Ya know. But yeah seconds after posting that realized I forgot someone. Still only 4 fems in the entire roster. -
[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Liminal18 replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Xrd is surprisingly light on feminine characters in general. There's Millia, May, and Ramlethal. Coming from years of BlazBlue it seems quite skimpy. -
Seems like this has been posted somewhere before, but didn't see it in thread via neogaf via livedoor via famitsu: According to Famitsu, Arc System Works will release Guilty Gear Xrd Sign for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan on December 4th.(6,980 yen ($68) at retail and 5,537 yen ($54) via digital download.) http://blog.livedoor.jp/od3/archives/52080141.html The US release is still planned for 2014. No word on Asia release date for folks residing outside of Japan But the Japanese version with Chinese translation (and sometimes English) is usually released with in a week of the J. version. Hence Malay, Thai, Hong Kong, players can pick it up using local currency online.
