  1. I never underestimate anyone's ability to be completely annoying lol. And yes, many many tager players i come across do not seem to have a clue what they are doing. ... many players in general are that way. I can be plenty meat-headed myself though so i certainly dont try to pass myself off as superior. But hey it's a competitive game, you monopolize off people's carelessness :3
  2. Anima needs a little something to make it usable really. Because theoretically if you can actually catch them with it it has some fun follow up combos. just.. well... it's easy to break and Carl yelling out "anima!" is a LITTLE bit of a tell... ... Only way you could catch a decent player with it is if you use it and they go".. wait.. Anima? did he just useOH crap.. i got grabbed."
  3. My favorite way to do this fight is to be as annoying as possible. 5C and a very quick 623]D[ at the beginning of the match basically gives tager no offensive options.. he can either back dash or eat a wimpy poke. If he tries to jump or super jump he eats brio. And from there i just irritate the living day lights out of him until my opponent breaks their controller/stcik against their skull. I'll throw loop if they make me grumpy, but generally i just keep Ada in the middle of the screen and Poke him with 5C if he attempts to advance from the ground, Brio if he comes in from the air since his air movement is actually slow enough to Brio -almost- on reaction. CH5C as Kyle said opens the floor for ripping them a shiny new sphincter, but especially if u are online be careful with loops because one accidental reset has a high probability of getting you grabbed. And yes if all else fails and you just want to end it all, throw loop to your hearts content. it's practicely button mashing against tager ; - ; P.S. if you want to look fancy and do absolutely no damage, end a sandwich combo with 4]D[ and then air combo off the wall bounce. It accomplishes nothing but looks cool and you feel like Siegfried and Roy. only less gay.
  4. I'm always afraid to use 6A. if it whiffs your face gets broken in =( Btw this has been bothering me: When they state that Anima is untechable do they mean that the throw itself is unbreakable or the floor bounce after the throw is untechable allowing for more set ups?
  5. Wait Brio can be regular guarded? Do we have any functional anti-airs now?
  6. Perhaps it's just that my perception of time is different between playing and watching matches but in the (few) 3rd loctest videos featuring carl it seemed like Downed Ada recovered faster than in CT...
  7. It probably never was an option they intended lol. Infinite un-scaling loops like the Clap trap usually stem from player creativity and developer oversight :P I will say one positive thing that comes of them cutting Nirvana's HP so low: it still seems to recover at the 3/tic rate it did when it was set to 8000, so a downed nirvana actually recovers very quickly. .. .. She just goes down more too i guess... which.. works so well with all the mix up carl doesn't have solo anymore? .. ok I really have nothing. Loc test soon though. Lets see what they decide to do.
  8. Sorry for seeming a little slow, but.. is it in fact correct that due to 2C's new tech-time and 8]D['s slower release time that the 2C8D loop no longer exists? ... and if so why on earth would they take that away? Outside of throw loop set ups it really didn't do great damage, and without it, how is more damage off of Fermata going to be that much more helpful really? 2B, 3C, 2B,2C, 214214]D[? i'm just a tad puzzled.
  9. This works for every character ever against carl and everyone who does it i hate with a burning passion. pansies.
  10. So... Con Anima... Correct me if i'm wrong but this special is almost entirely not worth using because of it's slow walk-down and it's obvious break-ability being a throw. and yet there are some really hilarious things you can do with it if you actually catch someone i'm finding. I'm wondering if, since this is a highly underused move if it might not be worth tossing into a sandwich pressure string. I realize the Stun will make it easy to break on reaction for good players after maybe 1 or two times being caught (at best) but ... this set up is just kind of hilarious. Carl-Nirvana-Opponent 63214]D[ (Catch) -> 236B -> 632146C -> 8]D[ -> Clap trap As they are caught in Con Anima's grab, Vivace to the other side of nirvana where they will be tossed down, and activate Cantata -before- nirvana finishes her throw. As they bounce up off the ground they will instantly eat the gear spinning. Wait a brief period and then activate 8D so instead of the gear's final hit sends them flying, they eat the shock wave. Assuming you were close to nirvanna when you vivace'd through her to use Cantata, you're set up at a good spacing to initiate a trap on some of the middle sized characters without re-launching them as the gear will toss them into the lowers side of the shockwave.. they wont be too high up to loop, and even without a loop this set up pulls off about 4k damage on it's own. i know it's really situational and catching someone in Anima is actually not easy.. but this is just really funny to watch people sit through. If they do happen to break the anima, you'll just be at a distance from them with Nirvana directly next to you if you vivace'd as soon as it connected (and you should have enough time to see this and note waste your heat on the distortion), so i don't see this is being horrifically unsafe... but i'm not qualified to say that with 100% certainty lol. Idk if it's worth practicing. But it was a fun little romp through training today..
  11. (Hurray for lurking and never posting until now.) So Despite that i read allot of stuff on various forums, i still like to mess around on my own way too much. I didnt have the time(or energy) to skim all 69 pages of this help thread but has anyone else noticed how very fluidly Carl's 6A does a 9jump cancel into an air grab (provided you are pretty close)? Is this worth perusing as a Clap Trap tool or is it just too risky.

    Bridget Q & A

Well accent core hit the Americas today and naturally I picked up a copy. I'm confussled, In many you tube videos i watched (oh the anticipation was brutal) Bridget could do some absolutely wild things with his yo yo, a few examples: stopping his yo yo mid recall, locking it back in it's buffer state (spinning but not moving), Whirling around targets from behind, etc. I cannot for the life of me figure out how its done, and nothing of the nature appears on his command list. Anyone have the solution to this puzzle?
