[CS1] Carl Clover Tactical Discussion/Questions/Help
Mascarpone replied to Slowpoke's topic in Archive
It's when the clap is released that changes it. If the clap is released early enough the wave of the clap is active when you grab them and it will hit them if they break, but now nirvana stops if you are throw-broken and the clap's animation has slower start up so you cannot loop it safely and unbreakably. if you time it just perfectly the wave will hit them IF they break immediately but if they break late they will still miss the wave. It's no longer a 100% unblockable set up. 8D can still be used to mess with your opponent during an air throw but you can no longer cycle it indefinatly. -

wait did i hear a audio call for Vivace c.c? why would they do that <_< that's just as silly as adding an audio tell to bridget's 214K roll C_C' why do we need to give them an audio que that we're trying to cross them up or.. well.. move in general. It would be kinda like me screaming "JOG!" every time i go for a run. -

lol that re-launch into the 2C8D loop is cute. also yay that loop still exists. also 1:39 is an air grab? there's a J.C before that but the combo goes blue which i believe is CS's way of saying it could have been teched out of? -

I always need time to warm up D: GG's to you too. i have some questions for you btw, next time you're on live. personally i barely bother with clap trapping anymore since it will be taken away from us within the months to come ; -; i've given up on perfecting it and just kinda half-ass it if i can get away with it. -

it does start out slow but it accelerates alarmingly quick. like once it's moving it goes SHOOM! My idea was if you could keep ada distant and initiate volante as soon as u started your preasure on the opponent then summon upon ada's recovery so that ada is behind you when volante hits and you can vivace around them and initiate sandwich. Idk if it works in practice but it's a really fun idea. I also like that carl's audio tells for fuoco and such are less glaring and loud. still there obviously but they seem more muted and less pronounced. that to me seems like it might actually help allot c.c -

I agree with Prohpet. Akiro was clearly the superior of the group last night. I Learned some interesting things too so it certainly was of no loss to me Perhaps if we do this again some ti'me i'll bring a more worthy game :O -

I just got home o_o i did say after 9 C_C (edited to avoid double posts) So i've noticed i have this very annoying habit of auto-Gatling 5B into 6B even though i don't want to. How the hell do i overcome this muscular memory issue -

Oh goodness me. that is wonderful news. And untechable CH on volante sounds like fun :O and we get to keep our mix up :D how much does the longer start up on j.2C hurt it btdubs. Whats nirvana's recovery off Volante btw, because I had this really fun idea in my head the other day about releasing volante early in a pressure string and using it as part of a summon combo. but i dont know any frame data on it so i can't begin to assume it would actually work. -

I cannot read this crazyness D: which button is "Play" lmao Oh got it. Btw the new announcer is OBNOXIOUS! why did they get rid of the cute European sounding one. even if she did say "the wheel of fate is toining" and carl sounds even more like a lady now c.c

Aw now i'm mildly disappointed kyle :o -
I just hate to be Dependant on a grab. They are often broken by decent players on reaction and by just about everyone else after I've used them 2 or 3 times in sandwich preasure/combos.. and allowing for a reset (particularly online) has gotten me spanked on several occasions. I'll try to put that into practice. I drop that pick up allot tho. (Too cheap to buy a stick and controllers are MEH!)

3C 2B 2C ]8D[ the 2C almost always whiffs unless you did 3C in like.. kissing range c.c so I find i have trouble launching other Carls into air loops. (My alla~can'ing is very very spotty.)

What bothers me most about this match up (and arakune in general) is that while there are some very skilled arakune players out there who know how to trap you, combo you and do infuriating things like 6C loop you, it is sometimes just as difficult to fight the scrubby arakunes who curse you then flit haphazardly about the screen and throw bugs at you from every which way and angle. I simply cannot keep track of 2-4 small bugs AND a giant flying jello jiggler. It hurts my brain. Is it really just over the moment you get cursed c.c (Carl on Carl match ups irk me for a similar reason in that 'keeping track of all the objects on screen' way but atleast It's something i'm familiar with.)

Friendly competition is fun but I do not even know if i qualify for being low lol.. nor do i have enough community standing to have anyone vouch for me. But kudos on a grand idea :D -

CT is the reason i've stopped trying to perfect throw looping in general >.> why bother if they just are going to take it away from us. Much more fun to work on things like follow-up air combos on Rhapsody or 4B anyways. Makes you look fancy. -

(quoting something old i know) Took the words straight from my mouth. There's just so much variation and (what appear to be) improvised situational combos. He just brings the fun to Carl; makes it feel more like a battle and not constant festival of setting up the same (deadly effective but) boring combo. He makes me feel like my favorite character is not a one trick pony :D
