  1. >Round start GRIM REAPAH! GRIM REAPAH! Welp. Netplay Gordeau in a nutshell.
  2. I know that feeling too well. Recently realized I should go for a slightly different bnb ender for better oki, and told myself I would practice it in matches. Aproximately 2 hours of play and 50 bnbs later, I think I did it once. I gotta hit up practice mode and just grind that stuff for a while.
  3. Given how new the game is and how often you see rampant jump + assault approaches, I think most people don't realize how dangerous being the air is. Except indeed for Merkava, who's field wherein he grows his fucks is barren.
  4. You actually can't block air to air, with a few exceptions. You can't block ground attacks from the air either, again with a few exeptions. Air shielding will block air to air, and will not only add recovery to the opponent's move, but also prevent him from canceling the blocked move into anything else, effectively forcing him to the ground in a bad situation.
  5. This. Last time it happened, we both just left and went into the booth right next to it. I don't think anyone ever stole my spot and didn't get told off by the player left.
  6. As a newer and really bad Nanase player, I can tell you that it is extremely tempting to use that move when doing pressure; It's her main combo tool, It moves her forward a lot, and it's a special, so you sometimes reflexively go into it because of the old normals > command normals > specials > super chain of canceling (which isn't at all what you should do, but it's a thing). It's also her only move that she can cancel into that's overhead, so if he's not used to using system mechanics to open you up, he'll run into a wall when you just block low all day and he'll try his luck eventually. That said, the fact it's understandable doesn't change that it's dumb and he should really learn from those punishes. If he's going to use it at all, it should be when he's just far enough to cancel 236a into 6b (the overhead) before the slide hits, so it happens quicker, and only if he has CS or 100 meter to cancel into 214C to make it safe.
  7. How does the delayed recovery work? Like if I know 100% they're going to do it, is there something I can do about it, besides adjusting oki timing? I tried picking them up off the ground but got nothing (maybe I wasn't using the right move for it)
  8. eh, Brossard is like right next to Longueuil. Depending on your definition of area, we've got a couple within reasonable range.
  9. Welp, GGs to everyone I played. The execution barrier is depressing. In most matches, the majority of damage I took was from free punishes I gave my opponent with drops and misinputs. Not even exagerating, It's like 7-8k every round. I gotta hit up practice mode some more. ._.
  10. Oh that was you? I've seen you around dustloop before but never noticed your PSN handle. Fun times. That was my first time playing online. We all need a lot of work, honestly. I mean I'm still in that phase where I can do pretty nifty things in practice mode, I know the theory of how to do pressure, but then in an actual match it's like: "OK, he's blocking, uh..I should uh....uuuh...GRIMU REAPAH!!" You know what I mean.
  11. I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything you're implying I did, and the rest is sophistry. Are you sure you quoted the right person? Hopefully it gets patched soon so this whole discussion becomes irrelevant.
  12. Edit: Totally misread your combo, I have no input for your problem. Derp.
  13. Can you imagine playing an offline session of 1v1's against a Waldstein who went for the infinite every occasion he had? Just sitting there for like 60-70+ seconds every time he did it, watching him hold forward and pushing C. If someone insisted on using it, I would just play someone else. Like how unbelievably hard to do you have to care about winning at all costs to use this awful, boring infinite in casual play? As for tournaments, well, I would ban it, but I don't go to those so I have no real opinion on the matter. Edit: As for Naoto SMP, someone already pointed out MVC2, who had a myriad of infinites and unblockables that were not only allowed but even encouraged, and even that game banned dead body infinites to time out clock. That says a lot about how much people don't care for this awful glitch.
  14. Akatsuki can reflector your projectiles, and in the air, he maintains momentum, so it doesnt stop his movement. Nanase's projectiles are slow enough to be reactable to, I find.
  15. I remember playing against Tsubaki and being completely clueless as to what she was doing, because all her moves look like the exact same mash-up of red stuff, feathers and white flashing. I swear, it's like she's trying to bring "Get Down" back from the meme grave. So I decided to play around with her to get familiar with her moveset. It didn't really help, it still all looks the same to me, but I know that's my problem and not the game's. So I gave up. No one plays Tsubaki anyways, so eh.
  16. Isn't Gordeau one of the easier characters to learn/play?
  17. Spécifications sur le HQ? On parle de quoi au juste?
  18. ETA: Not soon enough. Goddamn I want to plaaaay.
P.S. Si y'a du monde ultra-poverty sur la rive sud qui veulent des freebies, je suis ouvert à ça n'importe quand.
  20. Pretty sure how annoying one's Azrael is is directly related to how much you mash 5A when you shouldn't but still do because lolAzrael.
  21. >Release date: July 24th >Meetup on Wednesday: July 23rd What sorcery is this?! (I assume digital download + japan time shenanigans or something?)
  22. Minerva is some bootleg puppet thrown together by Kokonoe based on Relius's designs to protect Celica. Don't really care about Celica, but very much looking forward to more info about Nu/Lambda. I originally planned to go ham on Nu, but when I saw the mode switching, I couldn't deal with it. 3awkward5me. So now that that's gone... :>
  23. Yeah. I guess it would be less of a problem on stick.
  24. Midscreen combo for plat calls for sj9 -> j.C, I get tk j.236c every single time. Also, getting grabbed when they get up. Hooo, man, oh boy.
