You should improve on your temper so we can actually play. >:U

It's not pink, it's a...lightish red!
-
It's a ranking system used in netplay. Dark blue < light blue < dark green < light green < yellow < orange < pink White is unranked. You go up in rank after winning 10 matches total against players of your own color, down in rank after losing 10 matches.

If you get the chance to add new characters..

Fool me once, etc.

^That. If it'll kill, of course go for it. I'm curious what this 4400 combo is that requires FF to work.
-
I know I mentioned it just above, but I find it a little disappointing to see how many Nanase players on netplay use FF combos. Seems like it's all of them. FF is never worth it in a combo. Using FF will usually tack on like 100 dmg to a combo, at the cost of 1+ GRD block, sometimes almost 2, since it also eats up whatever unfinished GRD you have in the next block. 1 to 1.9 GRD for like 100-150 dmg? No thanks. Whatever extra damage you think you're getting from FF, you will get way more out of Vorpal + CS + meter from not using FF. Nanase's FF has its uses, it's actually a really good move for overheads, crossups, air movement etc. But it's an awful combo tool. It hurts you more than it helps. If you need a hand finding alternatives to combos you use with FF, I'll be glad to help.

Why I totally agree. C:

Your total win% is also an average of all your characters.

This, a million times. I mean I don't blame you for wanting a good record, cuz I've caught myself caring too much about stats as well: when I got orange square for the first time, I suddenly became hesitant to fight other orange players, cuz I never thought I'd get this far in the ranks. Then after beating a pink squared player over and over in a matchup that's hilariously in his favor, and subsequently losing a lot more against another player using the same char, but light green, I kinda understood why people say color is irrelevant. In the end, your stats aren't important. If you have a low win rate that you don't think you deserve, then play more and get it up. If you can't raise it, then reseting won't help since you'll just get back to those stats again over time. It's not like people will avoid you for having bad stats anyways. If anything, those with great stats are the ones that get dodged.

The Struggle© affecting dem stats.

It does not. The lack of options in picking music even within the game is one of the main complaints about it.

Opinions incoming: 236X-6B is not as bad as I previously believed. Still terrible if the 236 is blocked, but turns out you can cancel it into 6B a lot faster than I thought, and just 5a 5b 2b is enough pushback to use 236 where it'll whiff. I don't know the frame data on 236X-6B canceled asap, but it's reasonably quick. Also jumps over a few things. Now if only I could get the follow up every time. :C I knew projectiles were good starters, but didn't know they were as good as they are. I landed a j.236b into j.236a -> j.A j.B j.2C 236A-6C j.[C] etc, for like 3K. I never thought the 236-6C would link into j.[C] after that many hits including j.a, but it works. Is Nanase's 236X(whiff)-6A her best starter? I'm trying to find the most damaging punish for DPs and stuff. I can get 3227 off that. 2900 off 236B. Is there better? I might be able to get higher with float, but I never use her FF in combos. I find the GRD cost is just not worth it ever.

UNDER NIGHT HYPE! Ep.2 2v2 Psn Tournament (November 16th @5:30EST)
Icekin replied to Nerd455's topic in UNI Online Play
I was asked to join, but according to the date, it's supposed to be undergoing already. Oop. -
5B will stuff any assault on that setup, but that gets killed by DPs. And if you're gonna run the risk of getting DP'd, that defeats the purpose of putting down a tornado rather than doing 214A-A. So you're right, oki route only applies in the corner in the end. Go for damage elsewhere. :U

There's matchups and situations where that's not a bad thing at all.

Quebec -> Tennessee would probably be a solid 2 to 3 bar, if you have good internet. Might as well try. I don't know that I play Nanase in a really "rushdown" fasion though. Playing against a decent Hilda is gonna be a learning experience for sure. In the matchup thread, all I read is how Nanase is frreeeeeee for Hilda, and then I go online and they all get BTFU by 236b. I'm starting to think bad Hildas are making me develop bad habits. Edit: Average 2 bar. Eeerrh. I'd rather not. I love playing good players who'll force me to up my game, but not in this delay. I want to fight the player, not the game. One thing that's clear is I need to learn where the holes in her pressure is.

I'm surprisingly short on people to play, so if anyone's in the north east coast area and is usually up around 9 pm - 2 am, please add me on PSN, or make a mention and I will. Everyone on my list (and it's not a big list) is either 1-2 bars or hates playing against Nanase, so I'm never comfortable inviting people for 1v1's.
-
You can keep your meter and just do 623A CS j.2C 2C 236A-6C j.[C] j.BB j.2C 2C 214AA for 3069 dmg. replace 2C 214AA for 3C j.2C j.236B for oki, does 2933 instead.
-
Try to always whiff 2a over 5a if possible, it has a much more subtle animation. after a whiff, you can go for low/assault/empty assault+grab, dash grab, 66b FF j.236b, etc. There's no magical nanase trick to do after a 2a whiff that'll really work every time, you just have to be unpredictable and make the right call. And yeah, don't use 236 on block, ever. The overhead just doesn't work (it will on new players and in terrible lag, but that's not important.) On a side note, Nanase can punish Merkava's long range hitgrab (214a) from about a screen length away on shield block with 236C into 3.2k dmg. Neat.

I bought it from Amiami and it took about 5 days to ship.

Characters like Linne, Nanase and Akatsuki should not, under any circumstance, be able to just dash up to you for free and push buttons. Gordeau's range and damage from that range is scary. People do respect options, but you have to make them scared of it first. Well, maybe Linne. She is a quick little bugger. But her dash is nothing a good mortal slide won't stop if she's just yoloing fullscreen.

The matchmaking itself is also a bit wonky. Since player matches do not count, and level resets with every character, you could be an amazing player with tons of experience who just never bothered to go through ranked on that character, and you will be matched with other lvl 1-ish players. Some who will be like OP, newer players.
