Well I just had one of those moments where a connection reading 3-4F (which I pretty much never get) was worse than the normal 5-6F I typically play at in player matches, and I couldn't do simple 236 inputs after normals (which I can do just fine in 10F ranked matches). I'm mad salty right now, I've pretty much transformed into a giant salt shaker. If people experience that shit on a regular basis I can see now why they would trash the online of this game to hell, cause goddamn it is reaaally infuriating.
  2. So basically if I run into an air vs air scenario, I should only use jS if they are slightly below me, otherwise jK would come out faster and probably work better? Are there ever times where hitting with jK will fail to connect into jH though? If I recall correctly I ran into that situation with +R a lot. Also, this combo: 5K > 2D > [4]6S > RC > AD j.K > j.HS > land > dash j.K > j.HS > j.D > djc > j.HS > j.D > j.41236HS I'm having a damn hard time timing the jK jH land, so I've just been IADing over the character, landing, and doing cS after the RC (and then doing the air combo with jS). It seems to do nearly identical damage. Are there any characters doing the cS version would fail on due to weight? Can't test myself at the moment, and I've only done my variation ( 5K > 2D > [4]6S > RC > AD land c.S > land > jS > j.HS > j.D > djc > j.HS > j.D > j.41236HS) on Sol before. EDIT: Okay... so I've been doing [4]6H instead of [4]6S, but it's still been working. Blagh I have no idea what combo I should settle on from dolphin RCs anymore... I just want the easiest one, haha. Anyone got any recommendations on the easiest dolphin RC combo?   3. I assume so, because if you could do the stuff you can off CH normally Slayer would be ridiculous.

  5. Is there a general rule for when you use jK to combo into jH instead of jS? Which one I should use in which situation usually catches me off-guard and it screws up the rest of the air combo. Also, what's the point of 3K anymore? It seems really bad, since you can't use it out of anything.
  6. I hope you're the only one. While I miss the awesomeness that was Big Bang Upper I absolutely adore this rendition of Slayer. Undertow is a little weird but I think it's fine, would have been cool to still have an explosion go along with it.

  9. How can weight be arbitrary? If the weight affects combos that seems like it deserves its own class.

  11. ^Thanks, though I was hoping for something more concrete as Bedman is definitely not as heavy as Pot, so there are more weight tiers than 3.

  13. No. Fuck no. This game is a clear example of that, it's uncertain yet whether the performance drops could affect anything whatsoever, because if you got a super to hit or a Fafnir CH, you have plenty of time to comprehend what's going on even if there is slowdown. This hypothetical slowdown would have to mess crap up like reversal timing or Blitz Shield timing for it to actually matter, and that's not at all clear that it will. And even if it does, it is NOWHERE EVEN REMOTELY WHATSOEVER AT ALL... ...EVEN CLOSELY comparable to fucking random tripping. IMO i don't care either way about the tourney standard, as being in Hawaii guarantees I won't see a tourney for this game at all But the PS4 being more expensive and needing PS4 sticks IS an issue. Tourneys need multiple set-ups. PS4s are not yet common-place enough for non-sponsored events to have many PS4s. And I have no idea how hard it is to mid fightsticks for pS4 compatibility, but if it's hard most people who would want to compete won't have a fightstick. Japan had a what, nearly 3:1 PS3 to PS4 ratio? The West will likely be similar.
  14. I just want it gone. It's kind of neat the first time, but it being interesting wears off before the 10 seconds are even up and it feels really gimmicky... It looks cooler than it feels IMO.

  16. Thanks for the help y'alls. I have like an infinite amount of low-level questions. Here's another: Any tips for getting 6H to connect after a CWH 236236H (or CWH 5H 236236H)? I sometimes get it and I sometimes don't and I can't tell what I can do to correct it. EDIT: Apparently that only works on lights unless you juggle them before CWH. Also the corner version of that off CH 6K/2H 6H is really dependent on weight, where you have to sometimes delay the 6H a tiny bit. It's actually quite a bit of work to just get that extra 30 damage over doing two 6H pilebunkers. (Also, I am still having a damn hard time doing anything after a j2K in a combo off CWH. I try to just go for 2D, but it only ever connects from a grab RC combo. It's frustrating the hell out of me. But that's still old news.) Also, I'm sure this has been answered already but do FDCs have no invul like BDCs?
  17. Can I just express how much I fucking love Blitz Shields? They're so goddamn awesome. But actually playing the game confirmed what I thought ahead of time from watching it - I fucking loathe Danger Time. In general though I find this game bloody fantastic and am not going back to +R ever.
  18. Yeah this is definitely a helpful tip! There's some Ky juggles you can do off 623H-RC that definitely get boosted damage if the screen stops being black. In combos though, this will probably only be important to keep in mind with attacks that launch the opponent into the air. If you RC a ground hit, isn't the opponent usually able to recover when the black fades away?
  19. So if you combo off RCs post-time slow (the background stops being black), you don't have your damage prorated. Does this affect Slayer's optimal combos in any way or can he not capitalize off this?
  20. What does non-CH It's Late combo into? Also I wish I played people who mash more, because I have yet to be put on the defensive after a K mappa. All the people I've been playing who are around my level usually stay on the defensive themselves for whatever reason after K mappa. So I have no experience with somebody trying to reversal on me. Maybe I should try more ranked. EDIT: OK I have one friend who punishes me 95% of the time if I don't block and it's great, my bad manners are almost gone on treating the mappas as if they were safe. BTW any tips on recognizing that you scored a counter hit? Having a hard time distinguishing those key moments where I can go for massive damage.
  21. Okay, cool, thanks for the tip. Definitely dropping the fS then. By the way which characters are heavier than Sol? (Those are the characters I will do cS on after CWH because I can just barely time the 5H consistently enough on Sol). I'm still having a hard time comboing from j2K, but I have done it, so it's just an issue of practice.
  22. Ah, thanks. I saw that all characters have like 3 versions of what they say during May's IK, so I thought maybe you are buying alternate dialogue for her IK, and then from that thought I considered that maybe the other phrases are like extra win quotes or something. If the music wasn't in the same tab as the voices I wouldn't even have pondered about that to begin with. Ur... just to double check, the music tracks DO get added to the actual vs game, right?
  23. So does unlocking the voices in the gallery actually add them to the 2 player game or is it just a soundbite you listen to in the gallery? I was assuming the characters get extra phrases but I'm still unclear on that.
  24. Glad I'm not alone but sorry for your pain, lol. For me it's being really character specific. On Sol I can do it (though I'd rather go for 5H on Sol). On Axl maybe 25% of the time only. On Pot I'm getting it about half the time on the cSfS.
  25. The bluriness affects nothing. And what slowdowns are these? If the game slowed down while the PS4 version didn't there would be desynching.
