There's a difference between evolution and self destruction... There's nothing "creative" about making a sloppy hodgepodge of modern crap and trends. And Nero is the prime example of EVERYTHING that's WRONG with Reboot Dante; Nero (despite appearances) was NOT Dante in any way, shape, or form. He had a much more straightforward and (for a lack of a better word) "angsty" personality, he had his own signature cues (greatsword with a bike handle that could be revved up -badass!- and a double barreled pistol), and even his own playstyle (a more focused moveset, unique devil trigger, and the "devil bringer" mechanic which made the game really his own, even when you could play Dante in 4 you could feel the game was made for Nero). DMC can exist without Dante, but it doesn't need Dante to be messed with. I could go on but this isn't the DmC thread... I'm still being cautious about these leaks, but once again if true I'll be playing this for Nariko, I'm really interested in seeing how they'll make her play and if her lvl 3 will be the Heavenly Sword fully activated (before KO'ing herself ) I'm really interested in how these possible "minions" will work, as I don't recall them ever coming up in official documents yet, and with a release date of Oct, there's apparently ALOT Superbot still has to tell us...oh and Spike fot the fucking WIN (assuming these leaks are legit, but come on, Ape Escape was pivotal to early PS success ; -; )

Well if he has to work as hard as you guys say then I guess that's fine, might play him if no one else works. I actually dislike everyone on the "American team" lol, Akira/Natsu please :3

I'm just going off what I've seen thus far, excuse me for not getting on the train early :< I just don't see Akihiko lose that much, he just looks to have really good rushdown and mixup, and he doesn't need his persona like...at all D: And with Yosuke I'm mostly referring to his confusion, and how badly does he need that speed up super?

I don't believe DLC is a perfect in it's delivery but I don't believe it is a complete hindrance. But I'm not going to get into this because that's not what this thread is for and we're talking about a superficial situation that might not even apply to this game. I'm still unsure who I would play if I end up messing around with this game for a month; Mitsuru doesn't seem quite as fun as the only charge characters I actually enjoy playing (Leona - KOFXIII, Shuma Gorath - UMvC3), I can't stand Shadow Labrys' voice seems a little too straight forward & telegraphed and her easily broken persona which she relies on makes me sad, I don't have the patience to zone with Yukiko, and Yosuke seems kinda gimmicky. :<

Can't tell if trollin'... Also content altering DLC isn't a bad thing, especially in fighters, it's existence alone can extend/renew interest in a title, paid or not. If they announced P2 characters for DLC I would buy this game in a heartbeat for that prospect alone, but I'll just have to keep dreaming...

It's not NESiCAxLive, it's on Sega's own Ring Edge :D (which is apparently going to be obsolete itself as they're already developing the Ring Edge 2 which will probably be very NESiCA-ish) And it shouldn't be too hard to convince, honestly they should be snatching up all non-NESiCA titles (why isn't CC there ; -; ) -

More balance test footage, this time focusing on combo :D Interesting tidbits; - there are now 3 launch levels currently (vs the 2 in Alpha/E3 builds) - Critical Burst threshold altered (now requires fewer "big" moves, but alot more "fast" moves) - Strikes in general are a bit safer (unpunishable on guard or only allow for guaranteed normal throws---which are escapable) - Sidesteps are strong even with at a little disadvantage because they avoid jabs, elbows, knees, and low punches (not sure if this has been readjusted to accomidate tracking moves which were present in Alpha like Hitomi's 1+PK)

At least on 360 that seems to be the case, and this is reported from Japan, which has a good infastructure (thanks in large part to being a small island nation) so this might not be good...

All of the moves in Hazama's back stance attacks are really strong, Beatrice is just a good character overall (ultimate gimmick, dash > dodge > counter dash) And no, 5 buttons: LP SP D LK SK

X-Factor may be strong, but it's not scrubby, each has their own use, and it's up to you to determine how you use it, and even without it, this game's overall damage output is through the roof anyways I can't take Marvel seriously, but that's just because it's not my kind of game, but it takes just as much skill to be good at it as any other game, people that can block mixups and setups are insane because there's so much crud going on, I can barely keep up, this must be how humans in DBZ felt ' w' also the inputs for alot of the combos, loops, and infinites are just murder to my hands, so seeing anyone who can pull them off with great succession both fills me with rage and respect lol Honestly if the X-Factor Burst from H&H mode was a normal feature, I'd probably play this more seriously but I'm more shocked that you feel compelled to strongly voice your antagonist opinion on a sub-forum that barely even follows the game = w=

What, lol, they're NOTHING alike; the Def gauge is used for Defensive Arts which are high priority (and low damaging) supers but you'll also be spending bars of it on recovery actions to get out of situations, and for Impact Breaks (the game's version of instant blocking. Not to mention you need to use if in tandem with certain actions like activating Boost Dives and Advance Attacks (the primary way to extend combos) This game is actually very offensive, so having all these counter measures for defense brings an interesting balance and options to each fight.

Ok, before I head off to dreamland, I was planning out the systems vid and when I came to the HUD, I got curious if everyone had the same health, this led to a lengthy test of discovering an interesting curve; so for the test I used Beatrice, with her I could land 7 reps of HP>HK, which (more times than not) lead to 396 damage, which appears to be the "magic number". The Rumble Fish 2 - Character Health Values Zan =393(+3?) Hikaru =396 Garnet =397(-1?) Orville =390(+6)* Greed =396 Sheryl =397(-1?) Boyd =397(-1?) Bazoo =374(+20)** Mito =396 Lud =396 Aran =395(+2?) Kaya =396 Viren =396 Typhon =396 Hazama =396 *after the 7th rep I did LP>LK which did 6 damage, K.O.'ing him perfectly. **after the 7th rep I did LP>LK two times, the first doing 11 damage and the second doing 9, tally it up and he K.O.s at 394...
