  5. This is a bit of an asinine comment as Capcom has been working to adjust this game since day 1. Happy that my old Xiaoyu combo will return, sad that Juri's Super damage is getting nerfed (again...)

Breakable stages have been an element of 3D fighters for awhile and they've never had problems (and in the case of the Power Instinct series, Rage of the Dragon, and Fatal Fury there are 2D fighters with breakable walls and ring outs ) The stage elements are all set, none are random, and there appears to be only 2 uses; combo extension (much likes walls/corners/juggles) and a quick attack (they could help with characters with bad or no projectiles, like the barrels. They may not be comboable, and seeing an opponent approach an object should make you more aware). My only real problem with stage elements thus far is the way power characters and others interact with them; non-powers will ram you into it and get more use out of them, powers destroy them completely and will require you to leave the section and come back to get access to that element again. This will probably affect matchups. It's definitely a gimmicky game, but the balance is there. DoA has always allowed you to play stages without Danger Zones (2 and up) but all it does is remove the extra damage of wall hits. Some stages are more "flat" but that doesn't make those stages any more tournament viable than the others, and with cliffhangers the stages with multiple layers have actually become more balanced, lol.
  7. As long as the counter is 0 frame active, any effects before it are irrelevant, unless the counter had the exact same stance as their idle stance then you're giving a cue away regardless. The key to landing counters is predicting your opponents action, when the opponent sees the super flash their only thought should be "SHIIII--" because there's nothing they can do.

  10. *is calm* I admit my rant was a bit of an explosion, but I stand by everything stated, although I feel some things were misinterpreted; I'm not saying you have to kiss the butts of all companies nor am I saying you have no right to voice complaints, but sometimes the way people voice them is...irksome... Also I was under the impression the EU ver was locked for 8/28 and my comment concerning the "dumb & silly" was focused solely on this situation (saving time vs saving money) and not on my view as the country as a whole (I love EU) and was not trying to start a war of any kind with any of my statements, if a date is still unconfirmed ignore my comments on EU completely. Honestly not even sure why I exploded like I did, I'm not even buying the game ( ´・◡・`) but that's not to say that I don't care, but patience is a virtue guys. So who's ready for P4U top 8 at EVO?
  11. I...I...I REALLY HOPE YOU AREN'T FUCKING SERIOUS! The thing that pisses me off most about this is the response of the "fans", just so you know, no developer or publisher owes any of you shit! God, back in the day the general public had very little input in how games turned out, but now they have TOO MUCH push and pull. You all sound like entitled brats! For whatever reason you feel like their region locking the game to punish you and that is irksome, region locking has only had one sole purpose and that's to prevent the sales of imports (in all directions) and hurting the global value of the international product. This generation of Playstation users should feel privileged that the consoles are region free by default, and Microsoft users should be happy that alot of their titles come region free too (most times at the request of fans). But instead you bitch and moan because you have to *gasp* WAIT AND PAY FAIR CONTRIBUTION TO YOUR REGION, THUS SHOWING SUPPORT FOR MORE TITLES TO COME TO IT!!! Yes how dare the industry expect you to buy a localization on their game that was costly to bring to your region. P4U is coming out in all regions within a MONTH of each other, that's pretty freaking amazing, especially considering Atlus isn't a bigger game company that can afford to do this, honestly based on the "feedback" from "fans" online I think Atlus made the RIGHT choice by locking this shit; The game is (from an American perspective) ridiculously priced in Japan, most Japanese gamers that actually bother to get this can save a pretty penny (yen?) by importing the NA version. America is dumb, you're willing to spend 2x the game's asking price just to get it 2 WEEKS EARLY (and that's assuming you can get a decent shipping rate, which most likely means...SPENDING MORE MONEY). Europe is in a special place, often they have to wait the longest to get their titles, the same holds true but it's 1 month from JPN release and 2 weeks after the NA release, that's a more than acceptable time considering the usual wait period, but if it was region free they'd either be dumb (and buy the JPN ver) or silly (and buy the NA ver, but at least save money). You all need to get your heads outta your asses and start being more appreciative of the work that ALL companies do to provide you ungrateful bastards with entertainment. Also Nora Atlus =/= Aksys, this was a decision independently made of them.

  14. I can tell you exactly why there's less hype for this game than there should be; CyberConnect 2. Everyone is going to write off the game because they're developing it, and with good reason (unfortunately) as the group hasn't made a truly deep or competitively attractive fighter yet, even worst they just keep retooling the same engine (UNS) which does leave alot to be desired (with this engine everyone pretty much moves and attacks in the same pattern, it's really hard to give characters distinct feelings outside of visuals, of which the company is AMAZING at). I wanna believe .hack//VS was an attempt for them to try and make something more traditional and by effect more competitively appealing, either way I'm not writing the game off yet because I've been wanting to get into the series for a good while now and this seems like a perfect time to jump~ Also much as I hate to admit it, we don't have too much to chew on yet :s

Yeah she SOUNDED amazing, but keep in mind that build was shown behind closed doors because Bass and Sarah weren't complete enough to show :< The fact we have seen Rig and Bass but no Sarah makes me sad ; w; I expect her to be toned down a bit, especially with feedback like that :< Still she will be my go-to character because I already play her in VF so :3 But yeah I was surprised how much I like Rig, now just gotta wait to see that new female character as we're pretty much aware how the rest of the returning cast fights. Also... "TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" (lol I dunno why but I love when Bass says this, me and my friends are like "oh shi-Bass is gettin' HYPED! D:")

Official PS3 Theme It's actually pretty meh (outside of those nice category icons) but as expected from non-premium themes :< (If I could get my hands on good resources I'd make one myself, lol) It's dated, so there may be more incoming. What? I was NEVER hyped for P4U, and I'm still not, I'm just not interested. I like the Persona (RPG) games, but I don't like the P3 or 4 cast enough (as individuals) to be interested in playing them, not to mention none of the playstyles call to me). Also I'm burned out on BB (which no matter how much you want to deny it, this is a retooled BB) not saying the game is bad, just not for me. Ulala is from P2 (which no characters from the golden age of the series are in :< would've been a cooler character than Akihiko :<) I was hyped for P2:EP on PSP lol
  19. It seems to be all but confirmed... The thing that baffles me is the fact the servers are still global making this lock arbitrary... But seeing how the JPN ver include English dialogue and text (a la BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger) the only conceivable reason for the lock is to prevent importers, thus giving all respective regions solid figures. And judging by the (unnecessary) rage everyone is gathering on the matter, it's working! :D Seriously guys you're just waiting mere weeks, you should be happy this title is launching near simultaneously and that a month is all you have to wait at most.

  23. Marvel vs Capcom: Origins coming to PSN and XBL this September, this is just a port of the original game with the same additions and implementations as 3SO. It'll run $14.99/1200MSP Didn't feel like making a separate thread for this, lol EDIT: Also anyone hear about the rumors of UMvC3: Uncanny Edition? Supposedly to be revealed at EVO and released digitally next month for $14.99/1200MSP (with a disc compilation in Sept for $40) and apparently will feature: -Four new characters: Mega Man, Cyclops, Servbot, and Ant-Man -Two new modes: Survival, Time Attack -No Hud changes -Features from the PS Vita version of Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3 -New moves and outfits for certain characters first MvC3X now this, well EVO is just around the corner lol

Keep in mind this is an "add-on" and not a full game in itself, it was merely created to jazz up owning the movie, so I doubt CyberConnect put all of their heart into this (evident in it looking worst the UN games :< imo) Besides with UNS3 and now Jojo, I'm sure they wanted to focus there efforts elsewhere :3 Also I didn't expect any more characters, with a licensed title where brand recognition and consumer familiarity (character love) are the key selling points, so it does nothing for them to withhold infomation.

During a press conference held in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Jojo series a new (this being the 4th TV series) anime adaption (51m 40s) was announced along with a brand new Playstation 3 exclusive video game (52m 45s). This new title is being produced by Namco Bandai games and developed by CyberConnect 2 (Naruto Ultimate Ninja series, Asura's Wrath, .hack//Versus) and stems from their usual over the top flashy 3D arena combat.
