  1. Not even sure if we'll have enough time/interest to run teams for GG/BB. Don't worry about it. Everything is run around SF4, not anime games. The chances of you being up in every game at once is really low, AND we're probably all going to be in the same room.
  2. He's going to make another iPhone4... this one will be for his left pocket... just to keep it warm.
  3. You've got 80+ entrants for Melty, EC vs. WC in BlazBlue, and Guilty is ALWAYS hype. This shit is gonna blow up the hotel. I mean, where else is your hype coming from BigE? Super Snore Fighter 4? We have first round matches that are more hype than grand finals in Super. Remember what happened last year? Melty > SF4, that's what. WE IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Noooooooo, not ads!!!!!!
  5. The OP's question was answered on the first page, what is this thread even still doing open?
  6. Damn yo, Florida BB is serious.
  7. BTW, as of right now: BB and GG Singles will be starting a little after 2PM on Saturday. Teams will be run imediately afterward depending on how much interest there is and how late it is. If there isn't enough time but there is interest we'll just run them early Sunday (12-1PM~ish). I want to try and knock out everything important Saturday. In the past tournaments I've run for Big E there has always been one glaring problem: we never seem to start on time. This is because we've always been forced to start our sign-ups after Super has started. This year I'll be making 100% sure that we start on time. You can quote me on that. If we start either games after 3PM I'll order every entrant for BB and GG a slice of pizza. I won't be holding up the tournament for anyone. This year DoomieJ (Jeff) will be running GG so there won't be any problems with me having to run BB/GG simultaneously and by myself. I'll be taking sign-ups and entry fee starting at around 11. Singles will be 10$ entry for both games. Teams will be $5/member, with format to be decided later. Everyone, if you can bring a TV/monitor/console please do. The more setups we have the faster things are run and the faster you're able to play casuals/do MMs/hang out/go eat. In the past we've never had a problem with this but I don't want this happening ever. We have people coming from all over the US and Canada, and I don't want to make this tournament a huge waste of their time and money. Please show them some hospitality and help out BigE and myself by bringing setups to help things run fast. Let's show them why we run the best tournament the EC has to offer. That's all for now.... AND GET FUCKING HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. So it should connect off of everything? Edit: I stand corrected, most of the time it won't connect because of the spacing. Double Edit: The reason it doesn't connect like it does in CT is because after jC > j2C they used to be the perfect distance. Now that jC and j2C got hit by the multi-hit move nerf we don't use that ender anymore. Most combos now end in the TK Kure > 5DD relaunch that put them too far away.
  9. It'll probably connect after an anti-air D series combo, but it won't connect after a ground-string > 236B RC > 5DD > 236C > D-series combo. Back in CT if you had the meter you could just throw it at the end of your combo for a nice chunk of damage regardless of what you did beforehand.
  10. The super won't connect like it did in CT. If you're having trouble connecting j214D RC > jDD/j2DD then you should buffer the RC.
  11. 1). Just because they want to release the game for console sooner or later doesn't mean any release date for console is set in stone. Release dates change all the times for games/patches, with and without warning. 2). Just because they said something doesn't mean they'll deliver. We've been holding on dangling by a string in the past... and we still are. 3). Everything CT related has long been archived (or deleted) on this site and it's a pain in the ass to find anything CT related on the internet since we're now on to the third installment. I've been around since CT came to University Pinball 2 years ago... I followed that damn game like it was god's gift to starving GG players. Before CT console release (by this time the game was broken as fuck) we asked if there was going to be a balance patch at some point before the next installment and we were told yes. We heard about BBCS before the word of any patch, and then BBCS was released for arcade... and then ~8 months later we got BBCS for console. You know how many balance updates there were for CT? Do you know how many balance patches there were for CS1? 4). So, answer my question... are they going to release SSF4: Arcade for consoles a month after arcade? Are they going to release BBCS2 for consoles a month after arcade? Stop trying to bring up something totally irrelevant. SSF4: Arcade = Updated SSF4 with new characters and re-balance. BBCS2 = Updated BBCS with a new character and re-balance. After getting and arcade updated they're two totally different games, so what does the previous version being console (or ONLY console) have to do with it? 4r5, pleeeeeeeeeeease come to NEC. Make that shit happen. AH3 wasn't fun to play. BB sucks... for now at least.
  12. Is what I'm trying to say that difficult to understand? 1). You release arcade version. (BBCT, BBCS) 2). You let the people who bought your $3,000 game make their money back and then make a profit, to you know, stay in business... and so that they buy your games again. 3). You release a console version at a time that you feel that they made the money they need to, and give yourself enough time to code the game for console and localize it. (~1/2 a year) Why would they make a free balance patch to match BBCS2 changes for BBCS and then release it a month after arcade? That's the worst business model ever. How the hell are they getting their paychecks? Even if they charged ~$40 for the patch then the arcades would still be losing money, which they don't want. What's so hard to understand about that? Is it really that complicated? We went through this before with BBCT to BBCS: they said they were going to balance it through patches, and they didn't. And this is going to continue until they feel comfortable enough with a version to keep it out longer than a year. Every fighting game does this... are they going to release SSF4 Arcade on consoles a month later through DLC? Fuck no, they're going to milk arcade for all it's worth first. What fighting game in the past has been released on console within a month of hitting the arcades? Why the hell would arcade owners buy a game for $3,000 when it's going to be released for $40 a week later? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? What part of '"we've been though this before" don't you understand? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwyMB19q7ms No offense but I have something against people who don't have common sense. I'll ask again, did either of you play CT? Did we get a balance patch? Were we promised a balance patch? When have console versions been released in respect to arcade? The answers are simple. There's a trend to all of this that isn't hard to understand, at all.
  13. Why would Aksys want to make less money AND make themselves look bad to arcade owners? I don't know what else to say. I just asked one of my friends to tell me what that article was... that was from March of this year... MARCH. We've heard nothing about balancing for 9 months. Do you know what happened with the BBCT balance patch that they said was going to happen? Oh yeah, it was called BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, it was a whole new game, released half a year after arcade, and it really didn't balance all that well. Multiple sources? What multiple sources? A 9 month old article and a "yes" at an animecon? People were speculating as you guys are right now, when really there's no point for them to release a console version of the game so close to an arcade release, AND we've been dealt this same hand before. People that have been playing since the first week of arcade for BBCT know this game works out by now in terms of arcade release, console release, and updates. We've been here before, and nothing has changed. The reason I'm in here is because I lurk this thread occasionally and because I'm friends with people from MD/VA. The reason I started posting was because someone posted that we should look forward to the balance patch that's being released soon. I got happy that maybe there was a official announcement or something that I didn't get wind of, so I wanted to confirm. Didn't know I had to state my reason for posting in a thread. Sorry RadRed. I won't post here ever again. BTW, who from MD/VA is going to NEC? 4r5? Lord Ox? Moroha?
  14. When I think of balancing CS1, I think of them implementing the CS2 changes as a patch without Platinum... that makes sense right? I mean, why would they make different balance changes to CS1 then they're making right now when updating to CS2? So, why would they release CS2 (minus Plat) only a couple days/weeks/months after arcade? You'd be taking away from the buisnesses that GIVE YOU BUISNESS. It makes no sense as a buisness to shoot yourself in the foot... unless you're part of Jackass. It's not about how hard it is to implement, it's if it would make from a buisness perspective, in which this case it doesn't. The rest of your points go against running a buisness, which is what they're doing. Until they stop making a new version of Blazblue every year, we're going to have to pay for a new version of the game every year. And the release for console won't be anywhere near the arcade release because they want arcades to keep buying their games in the future. Point remains that they haven't said anything recently about updating console... which isn't good if we're waiting for a balance patch... D: Edit: You should post that in BB general so that someone who understands moonspeak can accurately translate it. Google translate can only do so much.
  15. Where's the article? I don't believe anything unless it's a written annoucement from the creators of the game (Arcadia Magazine/Aksys/Arcsys are usually good sources). Verbal confirmation isn't worth a whole lot... they can say whatever they want and then go about their buisness. Did you watch the Blizzcon WoW panel? A lot of people were just saying that there was tweet made about it this past Summer... and that was all we heard. Even THAT doesn't hold any merit because we were 'promised' a balance patch back in CT, and that worked out pretty well. I'm not calling you out or anything, but we've been told things in the past that ended up falling through. I don't believe we're going to get the "BBCS2" balance patch anytime soon, unless Aksys wants to dick over the arcades... which I doubt.
  16. I'm supposed to believe a question panel at an anime convention, and there hasn't been any talk of a rebalance patch/BBCS2 US since then? I thought you had an article or something.
  17. If all you're concerned about is beginner mode being broke, then you have nothing to worry about.
  18. I pause the game and give LK a high-five everytime he hits me with 6A. Mad respek yo.
  19. Yo, if Melty broke 80 entrants...
  20. ZONG, grats on your award this week at the AMA's. You deserved it dude. Nice Michael Jackson shoutout.

  21. Single elim would be hype as fuck, but you'd have to lower the entry fee cause niggas be poverty and shit (and people would complain since we're so used to double-elim).
  22. Eric, are anime games getting their own room?
  23. If you're going to do random teams you might as well just do singles instead. Or, if you want to keep teams in some form, then you should just rotate a game to be teams each time. Hopefully I won't be busy so I can make the next one. Good shit guys.
  24. Time to go play GG and have fun. You have have fun uhhh, doing West Coast things...? You know like: playing BB, letting Dacid win, getting blown up, staying sad, letting SpiritJuice talk, etc...
