Dizzy is alive and well; I have recenetly named her my second main and am working to improve. I will have many vids of my Dizzy soon (one's up already) so keep a lookout!
-
Thanks for the pointers man. I will hit Training mode hardcore this week. I actually do have more Dizzy vids to show but they haven't been uploaded yet. As soon as they are I'll post them. I actually didn't catch the Rozen maiden reference of my Dizzy color until a friend pointed out to me. I love that color scheme for Dizzy Not sure by what you mean by learning IAD j2s > AD j2s though, could you elaborate?

Hey fellow Dizzy players; I have my first recording of my Dizzy (vs. a Slayer, no less). Please let me know how I fare. Keep in mind; AC is the first time I have picked up Dizzy seriously and she is still a work in progress (I've only been player her since June of this year) so while she is my second main, I am by no means a great Dizzy player, yet. So for me to get better, I need your input. They'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhdsmbJN9zo

The reason why I shy away from DB or KJ in this matchup is because the Robo I play CHs me on reaction out of them with tkMissiles a lot. Getting in to Robo is hard because of his superior pokes and zoning ability. I agree though; I need to stay grounded more. I've watched this fight numerous times and I have certainly berated myself for not capitalizing on certain CHs I was landing, dropping combos etc. Here's one with my resident OR player. I probably do a lot worse this time around, so I'd really appreciate any and all feedback. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RcNkcDXDFI

I'm curious; does anyone know the Japanese ranking for this matchup? I had a few fights with my groups resident Slayer and he claimed it was a frustrating fight (I won 3 out of 4 matches I also got them recorded so look out for them soon!) and that it is clearly in Dizzy's favor. While we might believe it to be so, I wonder what the Japanese think.

You've pointed out one of my major problems 4r5. I can't speak for the Robo, but for me I tend to have a problem with crossups so every time I see him jump I do the same to avoid it. I have no idea how to handle them. And this video had lag issues because we recorded this match with composite cables connected to the TV while the PS2 was connected to the DVDR via S-Video, so that's why my air combos dropped a lot. My subsequent videos will play without this lag as we switched all inputs/outputs to Standard. Not making excuses mind you, but I thought it was something to be mentioned. So if you (and anyone else) have any more critiques please tell me and don't hold back. It's the only way I will get better. Thanks 4r5.

OK everyone; I finally have the ability to record my matches; one of many to come as a member of my GG group bought a DVD recorder today. Here's my first match with our resident Robo-Ky player. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZRRE8F4WuQ Please critique if you can. Let me know what I did right (and a lot of what I did wrong as I am sure there are many mistakes) and tell me if I have a solid Johnny or if I am a scrub. Well, hopefully if you're saying the latter you'll be a bit more tactful than that I know I am not the best (as you can tell by my many DL posts asking questions), but it is my hope to get better and become a more formidable Johnny. Anyway, thanks guys. As soon as more of my matches from tonight are uploaded I will post and again ask for constructive criticism. Thanks guys!

No, you pretty much got what I was trying to get across, thanks a lot. It's just that every time he dandies and I block I guess wrong and get hit with a high when I was blocking low and vice-versa; it's so annoying, especially in the corner.
-
OK let me clarify; what options does Johnny have to escape a Dandy mixup besides backdashing and jumping out?
-
So I've just come to the painful realization that backdashing to bait dandies is a bad idea, because once the Slayer catches on it's a Mappa to the face -> whatever -> death. Any other ways to bait a Dandy-stepping-happy Slayer?
-
So maybe I should have said that S-scythe is viable in ending blockstrings only if you anticipate the Slayer Dandying to escape your pressure. Because as zaeris said, a BBU or DOT will beat you, and after that you're pretty much dead. The Slayer I play against relies on Dandying to escape pressure so I've been pretty safe, but you have to watch his tension bar. I also think FRCing it is important. Instant block after though.

What did you guys think about the Hiro vs DC vid?
-
I've personally rarely used Dizzy's 6P; only the DA. I think if you use it in the corner as part of a combo you get a wallbounce but I'm sure it prorates. And I agree about ending blockstrings with Icespike; I don't do it and I hope no one else does, especially against Slayer.
-
Found out something interesting in this matchup; instead of ending blockstrings with Icespike, try S-scythes; a lot of times the Slayer will try to Dandy his way out of your pressure with it and he'll Dandy right into the scythe. FRC it for combo goodness

Wow. Just wow. From what G-translate has told me I think his name is White...damn. This is the first JO player I've seen to use lvl3 MF for MCing purposes and boy was it effective; he was gatling 5HS for pete's sake!
-
6-4? I thought it was 5.5-4.5 I-no? Maybe I was misinformed. Didn't know it was that tough for Johnny. Sheesh the man in black just can't catch a break...
-
Guys, you have got to see this. Battle of the Johnnys!!! Kabegiwa no DC vs. Hiro! Who will win? Only one way to find out: watch this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJSBz89-abU&feature=PlayList&p=94149C268ABFEDAB&index=34 Epic. Discussion awaits!

Smexy work there mynus; though as a Johnny main I have to give it up for my boy A3. I've actually wanted to pick up I-no for a while now but I don't think I have the time to dedicate to master her. Is she as hard as she looks to play Mynus?
-
Correct sir; Millia is quite vunerable during her throw. When I play as Johnny (my main) I can easily throw her out of it. I have not tried this with Dizzy yet though. But I'm sure a well-placed 2K/2P or something can hit her out of it once you see it coming.
-
I've only fought one good I-no and what I found helpful in this fight is 1 frame jumping her air dash and countering with jK -> counter whatever. Whenever she does it just assume she's gonna hit you low. Baiting STBT and countering with Johnny special is smexy; even the I-no player complimented me for it. Do NOT sit there and block the green note and try to be close enough so that you're not zoned by her Chemical Love. If you can set up a nice 12-13 hit combo off MFL2 you're in business.
-
My guess would be Holy Order Sol. I've tried, and have yet to succeed.
-
Wow great vids; how were they recorded and how did they alter the soundtrack?

Thanks so much 4r5, I'll let you know how it goes when I play him over the weekend. Follow up question: when it does clash (as it inevitably will) what is a good move to follow up with? (I can't watch the video right now as I'm at work) And the times when I bait the DP reversal, often times the Robo will FRC/RC and block immediately. Is there no JO poke that can get to him before he has time to block?
-
Can anyone let me know what the spacing is for Johnny's 3HS to beat RO's DP reversal? I tried it 3 times last night and had to eat his DP + Super. Not fun.
-
Guys we really gotta find a way for JO to get out of the Giganter trap. Can't we do something like SB it on wakeup? I know I'm grasping at straws here but every PO I play does this, and it's very humiliating to endure...
