Hey guys, more vids of me are up. This time around I didn't do as well as I'd have liked due to an injury on my left thumb which led to a lot of mis/non-inputs. Barring that, I need help with getting through to Venom. In the first vid I get trounced, but I did do one cool thing I think; I got an enkasu off him in the corner! killerwatt (JO) vs bacon (VE) And one more against the resident Robot in my group killerwatt (JO) vs formerly (RO) Hopefully I can get more great advice and implement them once my thumb fully heals. Slayer is BDC-ing my oki and zoning with Mappa...does anyone know how to deal with this???

Thanks guys; this time around the reason why I wasn't setting up proper oki (standing around after a fish summon, as you said) is because my thumb had a papercut on it and I had to hold the D-pad differently; which lead to misinputs. I'll take all of you advice into consideration (you too Merilyn). More comments are always appreciated, please keep them coming

Hey folks; my Dizzy's been recorded again, and I'd appreciate all critiques and comments. This time around my playing was handicapped by a papercut on the underside of my left thumb, so there are a few instances of misinputs (you'll know when you see them) so try not to take those into account as it wasn't comfortable playing with my thumb injured. Ah the things I do for Guilty Gear. Anyway; this vid has 2 matches, and I have another that will be uploaded soon killerwatt (DI) vs formerly (RO) And for anyone interested, the youtube channel is basically shared by myself and my guilty gear group of friends, so you can expect to see the same players often. In the future new players will be featured as we meet more competition. Thanks guys!

Really? I must be getting my info wrong then...to me it seems her dust is really sneaky; especially when the opponent is too busy blocking all the summons. My mistake

Do you guys think it's a good idea to incorporate Dizzy Dust into her mixup? I hear arguments on both sides that her Dust is really useful (second fastet next to Robo-Ky) or it's not worth it because of proration.

No no no lol it's the other way around 4r5; I'm getting accidental suerpjumps when I'm trying to tkEnsenga. There's definitely an input error somewhere, I just haven't quite figured out what it is yet. If my schedule permits this week I'm gonna sit in training mode and figure it out, as well as hardcore practicing MCing (which I am really seeing the benefits of in terms of JO pressure, especially in the corner).

Hey all, I have more match vids up. I have taken everyone's advice to heart and hopefully I've made some improvements. Unfortunately though it'll be a slow process; my old habits can be hard to break...I know that I am still not nailing my combos 100% of the time and my defense needs work, but I honestly think I'm more grounded than I used to be. One issue with that though is that sometimes when I try to dash in -> throw, I get 6HS instead...and sometimes a tkEnsenga comes out as a super jump. So if anyone sees anything new that I need work on please let me know, and also if I'm doing any better. How do you guys feel about comboing into TMN? I did it as a followup to a successful KJ->c5S->5H->TMN (I kinda improvised the TMN, wasn't something I set out to do). My opponent wasn't too pleased, but I have to argue that while it didn't give me extra damage, it did give me a guaranteed KD after a combo, which is no different than say, an enkasu combo after a throw. Also, it looks kinda cool to pull off . Thoughts anyone?

I certainly have; White's JO is amazing. I saw him chain 5H>JH comvos using LVL3 MCing...it was poetry in motion. It's going to be so hard for me to up my JO game now that I see what it takes to be a good JO; there are many fundamentals I need to improve upon (MCing being priority 1). It's good that we have guys like Omito and the rest to show us what AC JO can do, and hopefully us Western JOs can aspire to their level. And like 4r5 said unless DC can change his style, he's not going to be winning much...such a shame because his JO sure is entertaining to watch.

Jo, thank you very, very much for your detailed and honest analysis. You've pretty much echoed everything that the other JOs here have pointed out, which means that I know now what I have to do in order to up my game. I'm not making excuses here, but I think I should point out that I've only been seriously playing JO in Accent Core since January of this year; I've been playing GG since #Reload but nowhere near on a competitive level (and worse, my first character was Ky Hadokens much?). So I'm new to the competitive GG scene and am well aware that I have a LOT of work to do. Don't worry about me being discouraged; I don't plan on dropping Johnny as my main anytime soon. My focus right now is getting better and nothing else. *sigh* So I gotta let DB go huh...ok...but I can still use it as a combo ender for KDs right? (Say off a successful tick throw or L2MF) The reason why I DBed Venom so much is because I was trying to hit him out of ball summoning...but I get it backfired and I ended up getting punished more than anything else... If anyone else has words of advice please let me know. My group is getting ready to record matches again soon and I hope to show some improvement (emphasis on 'hope'). Thanks again Jo; really appreciate it.

Guys I'm having trouble with the followup combo after a throw (2K->5S->Icespike)...it seems that it doesn't work on all characters and I was wondering if someone could let me know the timing I need to move forward and 2K because what usually happens when I try to after a throw is 1. I don't move at all or 2. 2K hits but 5S (5cS) whiffs) 3. 2K hits, 5S hits but Icespike whiffs. Thanks guys.

Hmm I am intrigued Kuro; what is this second method you speak of? As for EVO2K9, I'm not sure that'll be possible as it'll be quite a trip for me being from NYC. But who knows, maybe next year I can afford to go.

I trust that last comment of yours to be sarcasm? lol if so, then I agree. Thanks for the tips. I plan on getting more of my Dizzy recorded tomorrow. I've only had one night to practice though (worked late a lot) so I won't have improved by much, but I did take everyone's advice to heart. Look out for her this weekend.

Thanks for the tip; but after trying it out in practice mode last night I couldn't pull it off! Can you give me and tips on execution, if you can? Every time I try I always land after the j2S and she does c.S instead

OK there are more vids up of my matches. These were recorded on the same night as my first posted match, so a lot of the problems you guys pointed out may surface again; please bear with me. I know there are a lot of flaws in my game so as you've been doing before, criticize constructively. Also, if you can point out anything I'm doing right; anything at all, that would be great, just so that I can convince myself that I'm not wasting time attempting to get better at this game and reinforce what good things I am doing, if any. I've gotta say though; IADing after a summon is kinda hard; most times I try it I get an empty jump (as you saw numerous times in the vid). Any tips on how to get the timing down?

Everyone; thanks for your input. Vedaisme (formerly) and I are grateful for all of your advice. While I cannot speak for him, I can tell you that I have only recently been getting human opponent experience in Guilty Gear. Though I started in Midnight Carnival, I did not play humans on a regular basis as I do now (in fact, I completely missed out on the Slash-era due to circumstances in my life at the time making it hard for me to play). Accent Core is really my first time in competitive-style Guilty Gear and I know that I have a lot to learn. I'm just grateful everyone has been constructive in their criticism and not spiteful. I plan on uploading more of my matches on a regular basis so that you guys can continue to help me, and maybe see improvement. 4r5, A3, querty, and cefrancis thanks. Please keep the critiques coming.
