no, continuum shift will be dead come next year's EVO. by then, only online faggots will still be playing it while the major bb areas will be playing the next revision. the capcom community won't want anything to do with the series because it will have become another guilty gear because it has way too many revisions and it's too weeabooized. which will even further lower the possibility of it being at EVO. meanwhile, real guilty gear fans will be crying in the corner for being forsaken by arcsys for so long.

NO STUN DIPPER. both of those need to be used for very different things. greed sever is really only good for building meter during combos, but it's a slow overhead that's really bad on block that just should not be used as liberally as you use it. stun dipper is only good in the footsie game, imo. it's really only good if you have the tension to frc/rc it if it gets blocked, but it is good for people that want to jump/backdash. but seriously, just end your blockstrings with a regular stun edge or just sweep and back out again. you only get so many chances in this game, don't blow it by playing needlessly risky. for Edgar: けだこ(メイ) (kedako) work on dolphin loop now that you can practice and don't use hoops at any time other than for oki. hit the hard slash button endlessly.

i don't agree with most of that wall of text, but what is definitely true is that we need to show that we still give a fuck about this game. i cried bullshit after the unbelievably subpar showing at season's beatings. and even now, it's still unclear how big final round will be. just what the hell really happened? we were killing off our own scene even before complete shit like IV and BB came along. i go to every event i possibly can. period. even if gg isn't even listed as an event, i'll still go and try to play. i do anything and everything i can for this community. and there is no doubt that i'll be at evo this year. i planned to be at evo last year, and even the year before that, but scrounging up the money for such a trip just isn't always feasible. now without tuition to pay, i can just say fuck it all. i'll spend it all on gg.

this isn't a good way to go about competitive games, especially in this kind of atmosphere. you won't win a game. i read a quote the other day from Joe Montana in his prime, and he basically said something like, "don't practice for the sake of practice, don't practice so you can get something down. you better practice to make it automatic." playing simply for the sake of playing is not playing at all. i've really got nothing more than training mode, but i truly practice every facet of my game to make it automatic. that's why weekends like this past weekend really infuriate me, because i didn't play anywhere near my potential and i couldn't even count how many combos i dropped. hitting that training mode harder than ever right now. not trying to discourage you or anything, but serious practice really means everything. i also don't know of any way to get your friend involved, because people really need to have a competitive spirit and a liking for fighting games before they even think of starting into a game like this. i wish i lived closer to you guys.
