  1. Henaki: please factor in that it basically already has a PC port(the arcade version), so the effort on porting would be significantly reduced. And, I've mentioned before, piracy does not affect sales; if pirates were forced to buy or remove the game(and thus stop playing) only 1 out of 1000 would buy it.
  2. The big deal is that Accent Core + is expected to arrive with online play, a feature that quite a few of us have good use for.
  3. SV is quite ok if your opponent will be attacking you with 'slow' normals and a reason to pick SV over DA attack is that if you hit it, you're out of pressure and you don't need to RC it anymore, saving you 50% tension. DA attack is good when people use safejumps, projectiles and what not to prevent the SV coming out but keeping what would normally be guaranteed pressure. For example, a moment to SV would be when Potemkin Hammerfalls and is trying to go for the potbuster vs 5S/Heat knuckle mixup (even if you don't hit it, it's still adding that guarding to his mixup, which is an option beneficial to you); and a moment to DAA would be in Eddie's Mawaru loop being used to give him mixup attempts. If anything, I'd recommend you experiment with both yourself and see how you can make them work for you. One more things about this, if you RC SV, try to make sure you RC the second hit, as RCing the first hit sends you flying across the screen. As for Inoue's combo, it's really just a load of bullshit from a technical standpoint. Not that you should never do them, but I wouldn't spend my time practicing them. This is just a combo he pulls out of his ass because he brainfarted on something real, which is still good, but not the best. I recommend spending your time focusing on the staple combos first.
  4. Steam apps are pirate-able. The reason it is successful is because players aren't inherently pirates. As for single player games to note: Half-Life 2 and Portal (1 & 2) did pretty well. Then there's lower budget games like magicka that are also doing great. The reason 'AAA singleplayer' games are getting such bad sales on the PC, is simply because the PC crowd is a much tougher customer(as most of them make their own money rather than spending their parent's) and the AAA titles simply have not lived up to their standards. These aren't just my words, game developers that still dare to tread in PC land say it. Heck, the most successful game amongst all platforms is still WoW, which is PC only; and yes, there are hacked servers of that game too! Other than that, singleplayer games are kind of a niche market which makes it hard for a game to carry on singleplayer alone.
  5. Yes, because those pesky pirates not planning to buy the game in the first place is really denying them their profit! Really, I can pull up quite a few studies where piracy has proven to increase sales on a product and pulling the "THEY PIRATE EVERYTHING" argument out of your ass when the PC players come up is a bit misplaced to say the least. This is besides the fact that the new game is already released on a PC based arcade platform, porting it to the PC should be a LOW cost effort. Instead we're now waiting for ARC to get their shit together on a port that is significantly harder.
  6. When will they give the PC players a token of forgiveness for not releasing anything besides #R on it? And what do they have against Linux users?
  7. I recall several years ago that 1F jump was just a jump with 1 startup frame. I also recall not all characters have access to that jump as the FD cancel takes away only one frame; which would mean only characters with a 2 frame jump have a 1 frame jump capability. But my memory seems to be bad anyway...
  8. It actually is pretty hard:P First of all, the 2D needs to be close range, then the BHB needs to be followed up with an immediate action charge(so while the BHB is still in startup animation) and then you will need to FRC it at the earliest possible moment(shouldn't matter if you miss a few frames) finally you get the ability to do 66S and you can continue from there. Do mind that noone ever uses this combo. In the corner it's not as useful compared to 2D 214D 5K-S + followup due to the fact that it doesn't cost any tension. For midscreen realistically, you probably shouldn't sweep at such close ranges :p BUT, you can do the 2D 214D 5K-S + followup or 2D 236S 5K-S followup depending on what you prefer.
  9. What makes you think that playing against new/bad players is annoying? I'll admit it can be a bit boring, but I'm pretty sure most people here would love to help you get up to competitive standards.

  11. What did exactly change for Johnny? As far as I can see his execution got easier and that about covers it. Also, why does Zappa got a top tier spot? And what is arc sys planning to do about Kliff?
  12. Sometimes you just ignore people...
  13. real men interrupt with 5H!
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yqUpypQwGs Quite frankly, the sooner you dive into matches the better. Yes, you will lose(a LOT), but the purpose here is to get a feel for the game, to learn how to move, when to move, to see where you can hit and where you cannot. Once you learned how to place hits and defend yourself, then you should look into "what gets me high rewards out of the hits I'm getting", I recommend starting with the hit you get the most first and then follow it down the line. As you're a beginner, you probably want to stick with combos that do good damage yet are simple to execute; if the previous is not possible you will want to look for combos that if the opponent techs them, he's in a bad position. Once you got passed this, you can start reading on techniques and implementing them. Famous one found in the arcsys game is FD braking (back + 2 buttons), followed by option selects, backdash practice and what not. Doing it like this allows you to think towards what works and doesn't work and allows you to take the game the way it is. In general, it allows you to learn quite fast and develop good gamesense that allows you to plan a bit further ahead than "THE OPPONENT IS POUNDING MY GUARD, WTF DO I DO NOW?". If you start off in training mode, what often will happen is that you learn the BnBs, try to implement them and then realize you're not actually getting the hits you need; then when you finally do get a hit, you will be in complete shock and miss the combo afterwards! So really, if you can you should avoid training mode unless you found yourself in a spot where you know what to experiment with.
  15. Noone thought HOS was top tier, except for a few not playing HOS.
  16. No, AKA was indeed right, like I said, I didn't see Hamo standing up till I looked for that.
  17. So you know what combos work best for you, why do you need the game to tell you then?
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flD4j6JORQM&feature=player_detailpage#t=524s Hmmm, seems I misread the situation there, after looking carefully I'm seeing Hamo stand to guard.
  19. Erm, why would you not go for the higher damage combos if possible?
  20. It might be, I haven't seen old shadow yet. I've seen AC shadow drill unblockable guarded by crouching faultless guard and it's already confirmed that puddle isn't a low anymore.
  21. The puke ball is no longer an overhead. The only unblockable still available is the 22H FRC IAD.K and maybe old shadow's ]H[ with jump kick.
  22. Definitely, I'd happily be playing BB if it weren't for the 30 hit combos that do 30% damage.
  23. I never check SRK! There's no GG there! Anyway, 29th of December is right in the middle of family activities(christmas, new year, birthday of one of my parents), so unless the date is moved, I can't come.
  24. GAH! Could you announce these things earlier?! 29th of December is going to be tricky, but I will try to make it. Preferably, I'd like it if the tournament could be held in January(after the 3rd).
