What's the word on streams/recording? I could bring some stuff up if necessary, but if someone else already has it covered I definitely won't.

Yeah... looks like people are getting a little defensive in here, let's see if we can clear up the misunderstanding a little bit. "Frame advantage" in fighting game terms (and in BlazBlue no less) refers to the advantage you get when you let the move completely end without canceling it. So... in short, chain revolver blockstrings are not actually "plus frames" or "frame advantage", because if you let a chain revolver move completely end without canceling it there is a very long "I'm putting my guns away" animation. Which, I'm sure you've noticed has gotten you punched in the face by Bang. Which brings me to my point, what you're describing isn't actually "frame advantage" but rather "number of frames your opponent is in blockstun before you cancel into the next move." or "number of frames your opponent is in blockstun before your next move hits", which is legitimate research, but distinctly different from what you're actually saying. This is actually a very important distinction rather than potato/tomato type stuff because it actually denotes how safe the move is on instant block and how effective it is as a frame trap when you rapid cancel it. After all, if you're forced to cancel an attack to make it safe, if there is some kind of framegap between the two hits, anything can happen, but that's really all about opponent's skill from here on. I'm glad you're researching Noel's attacks, but this distinction needs to be made between "frame advantage" and what you are actually researching. It is very confusing to both veterans and beginner alike if you use the wrong terminology. On a side note, with regards to "first frame available" special attacks, I'm fairly confident that attacks actually do come out on the first frame if inputted correctly. There is a very simple proof to this: Hazama's 3c and Ragna's 5b are exactly -6 and -7 on block respectively, and Litchi's Ryuuisou is exactly 6 frame startup. It is possible to punish either of those moves on normal block if inputted properly.

As I will probably be running sign-ups and brackets for both the BB and GG tournaments, here is the current rule set for the GG tournament. My plan is basically to start the sign-ups for GG as soon as BB sign-ups end and their bracket is up and running. As far as refs are concerned for this tournament, if you and your opponent cannot reach an agreement, you will pretty much be defaulted to me. Please make sure your buttons are properly configured and whatnot before the match. How to sign up: During the alloted time, just look for a handsome Asian guy wearing a black hat. He will probably be hunched over a laptop, and in front of him will be a line of people attempting to sign up. Walk over to this guy and ask him to sign up. There might be an Aksys banner near him. How to be on time for your match: First, we will do a standard call out for your name when your match is up next (meaning you will play as soon as someone will vacate a station). If you do not respond, we will text you. With the advent of Google Voice, it is very easy to send a text message to a large number of people without really breaking a sweat. So please, when you sign up, please leave a text capable phone number on the sign-in form. We will text you when you are next for your match. If you are late despite the text warning, and you do not respond in any form, you will be promptly DQed if you are holding the tournament up. We are not responsible for you not receiving your text or you leaving the wrong phone number, or whatever might happen, so please, make note that this is not a replacement for being near the tournament area. Also note that this is not a replacement for telling the bracket runner where you are or going to be if you need to go somewhere. If you go somewhere without telling him, only to find out you have 5 minutes to come back and finish your match before you're DQed, that's really your loss. Friday: TEAMS 3v3 Entry: $5 per person Sign-ups: 1:30am - 3:00pm Start Time: 3:30pm Style: Pokemon Sets: Best 1, Double Elimination Rules: No same characters on a team, Character Lock, No Justice/Kliff, Stage Select is random if players cannot agree on a stage. Saturday: SINGLES Entry: $5 Sign-ups: 11:30am - 1:00pm Start Time: 1:30pm Sets: Best 2/3; Grand Finals: 3/5 Double Elimination Rules: Winner cannot change character, No Justice/Kliff, Stage Select is random if players cannot agree on a stage.

Thursday morning, 10am apparently. Also, I'm actually 155lbs. I wish I was 120 :< Edit: Maybe you could pick up your badge earlier, use it to get into the room, sign up for the tournament on that day.
-
Regarding sign-ups, I believe sign-ups still occur at the console room. And regarding that, you probably need your badge to sign up. Otherwise, I would sign you up. Maybe I can throw my Aksys weight around? If you get scrubbed out, sorry ._.

I believe the tournament really does occur at the Aksys booth. I'll be there, playing my TRUE main.

Hey guys, if you're interested in helping out for either the BB or GG tournaments at EVO, please post here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?9135-EVO-2010-BlazBlue-and-Guilty-Gear-Tournaments-GET-ORGANIZED We need your help. ;_;

So, if we're going to have a GG and BB tournament, we need people to provide stuff, whether it be consoles, monitors, TVs, warm bodies, whatever. This is a thread where you can sign up to help out. I don't have anything to give you, other than a hug, but your contribution is greatly appreciated, and it'll help us bring the hype at EVO. As for the projected times, we're still going with Tushar's original schedule. The Guilty Gear tournament will be run alongside with the BB one. What we need for Blazblue: I'm shooting for 5 setups. If the turnout is huge like last year, we'll need at least 5 setups to plow through the entire pool. 5 Monitors: 1) Xie 2) Pulsr 3) Pulsr 4) shtkn(?) 5) 5 Consoles: 1) Xie 2) Tushar(360) 3) st1ckbug(Ps3) 4) PNW1 (Ps3) 5) 5 Copies of BB:CS: 1) Xie 2) Tushar(360) 3) st1ckbug(Ps3) 4) PNW1 (Ps3) 5) PNW2 (PS3) What we need for Guilty Gear: GG's turnout is a little more mild. And the games can be over in an instant. I project that 3 setups will be needed to tackle the pools. 3 TVs 1) 2) 3) 3 PS2 1) Xie 2) 3) 3 Copies of the Game 1) Xie 2) 3) Staff to run the tournament itself While I'm completely free to run everything on Saturday, I won't be for Friday. But regardless, we're going to need people help out, whether it be name calling, watching shit, or doing the brackets. Google Voice makes it really easy to notify someone that their turn is about to come up, so it should go very smooth as long as people have a cell phone. Shifts aren't set in stone or anything. If you only have time for like an hour or so, that's great, your help is appreciated. It's only divided up so we know when we need you. People 1) Xie 2) Zong_1 3) Render 4) Dacidbro 5) AlmightyGnat

I guess I'll team up with the mysterious JamesX, strongest Bang player in America. I hear he wears a stylish hat, and covers his face with a bandana.
-
I wanna go, but I need a godlike teammate to carry me the whole way. :< Also, is MBAACC still confirmed for this event?
-
Usual schedule is one day for teams and one day for singles. I'll be happy to help run like BB/GG/Hnk/Everything Singles/Teams over the course of an entire day, but it still means someone needs to step up and help on Friday when I'm busy with Evo pools.
-
So... we should really get organized and figure out who's running what and what time we're running it. I'm free to help out on Saturday, if needed.
-
Sorry for any confusion. But this ranbat is just a normal one, with normal rules (1.5). With that in mind, finals could come... after evo, but before quals if people want to play for it. Format is still up in the air for that one. Scott might not able to able to make this one, as he has plans. I don't suppose anyone else has HD capturing equipment we could use? :<
-
I really wanted to go to Kevin's party, but I really need to end this shit before Evo/console come out. If only 4 people show up, I'm still throwing this thing. If only Kyle shows up, we can have GF straight off the bat. This is pretty much it, sucks that I have to miss X other things for it.
-
So... it's still this Saturday. Did anyone else remember?
-
Yes, I do indeed mean 6/27.
-
Date for next... Probably 6/27. Unless you'd rather have it tomorrow. Edit....
-
NP, hope to see you at... PNW's trip? Pulsr's BBQ? I dunno anymore. As far as those sticks are concerned, those are the show sticks, so we'll probably be putting them out for AX too.
-
Late ass post, I totally thought I already posted somewhere else in the thread with a billion shout outs, but they must have been swallowed by the internet, so this rage post will only be limited to: Fanime was fun, thanks to everyone from Norcal and not from Norcal. Also, the sticks at the booth were brand new. :V
-
I have been informed that a Pulsr BBQ will take place on the same day as the SoCal CDC. My deepest condolences.
-
We'll probably be doing our ranbat the same day, to increase attendance, so maybe.
