Regarding Expansion (more setups) - The only other remaining power ports are on my ceiling, so we need to get some extension cords long enough to ensure that there isn't a drag from that spot to the targeted switch. Otherwise there might be some hazards with all those people in one area. I could technically move the other car out of it's spot and create like a LOW LEVEL PIT for the 1-2 area, which might alleviate the amount of time it takes to find a match on the low level stations. Chair Prices - A JEFF chair at IKEA is 9.99 with tax. It beats out that price from Fry's, but if it goes any lower it may be a viable choice. Regarding Dual Mics and Poverty - If you're down to bring a mic, I will happily use it and incorporate it into my setup. Ideally, it is a Dynamic one because a Condenser will not work well in our high noise environment. If you're not sure, just post the model # to me and I'll look it up. And yes, I am broke, why do you think I still live with my parents. : | Edit: Also, I'd like to buy some kind of apparatus to block out the sun from 4-6pm. Thread updated with standings, info, etc. We may need to change the format up a little bit to include a Rank 7 the make the average rank into rank 4 instead of rank 3. Questions - Showing up late - You can show up as late as you want, just realize we have a strict cutoff time. So if you show up an hour before we're ending, that's your choice, just realize whether or not it was worth the time and effort to come. Dual mic - I don't mind having a dual mic setup, I just don't have dual mics. Frankly, don't have money to buy another one right now, so unless you guys want to get a fund going, it won't be happening any time soon. Next on the buy list is probably an extension cord to increase the number of setups that we can have in the garage.

Heading over around 5-6 might not be worth it this time around.. As for future gatherings, I'm looking at doing it on 10/15 (Saturday). I'm aiming for a Bi-weekly schedule on Saturdays, but I tend to muck it up since I have stuff to do. As for time, probably 2-8pm will be the general time we start and end the Danisen. Regarding the stream, I happened to stay up until 4am the night before watching SBO so I was just like "fuck it" towards the stream and overlays. I'll work on it this time and actually take the time to test it out.

Double Post - Rules updated! Because of our current player numbers, I've updated the ruleset (with an experimental ruleset) to accomodate it. Notably, the rules for Rank 5 and 6 have changed greatly. Aim to become THE KING OF KINGS. Rank 5 - Strong -Due to the current player cap, Rank 5 is now a special Rank -Rank 5 requires a player to reach +5 to reach Rank 6, getting demoted to Rank 4 still only requires a -3 Rank 6 - The King of Kings -Only one person can become Rank 6 at a time, THE KING OF KINGS -The player who is Rank 6 cannot Gain points, for example, if he wins at -4, he will stay at -4 -Similarly, losing to a Rank 6 player does not cause you to lose points (unless you are also Rank 6) -All wins will instead be counted as W's. They will be tallied up in a cumulative score. The Gauntlet of Kings -If there are two Kings at the same time there will be a special format to eliminate one of them -Each Rank 6 player will be forced to play 5 matches in a row, starting with the newest Rank 6 player -Participants of the gauntlet can be ANY RANK which basically means that the participants can counterpick -This will continue until one of the Rank 6 players is demoted

We should have the chair situation figured out 100% by then, but I would appreciate it if everyone could throw in like $1-2 so we can expand our usable space in the garage. Top posted updated, but the bottom post will get the same info as well. Stream is confirmed: www.twitch.tv/xiei I'll be streaming the "highest level" TV at the event, whatever level it ends up being. This time around, the way the room is set up is something like this: -Each TV will have a level range assigned to it (Kyu-1/1-2/2-3/3-4/etc) -Line up on a TV within your correct range -When it is your turn, sit down and play your opponent -If you win, you must stay put. If you lose, you must line up on a DIFFERENT station in your range. This way, if you are capable of following directions, you will never play someone out of your range. Exception to these rules, of course, is if you are a Kyu, because you'll be lining up at the same station again. If there are a lot of players in a particular range, we'll increase the number of setups for that range, but the same rules apply. Lastly, if you want to work on your tournament nerves, I recommend bringing some change for the "loser" jar. Every time you lose, you will put your own self ordained amount of money into the jar. I'll be providing drinks at the event, and future drinks will come from the loser jar, so get bodied for a cause.

Just bring the ps3 + monitor and a stick for yourself.

As for frequency, I'd like to do it every week, but having enough players is an issue. Right now, I'm shooting for Bi-weekly, but if everyone who shows up this week is like "YO I'LL COME BACK NEXT WEEK 100%" we could do one next week as well. As for setups, if you can comfortably bring a FULL setup, I would appreciate it. Otherwise, the limiting factor is always going to be monitors, so there isn't much purpose otherwise.

Thanks for the advice. I realize from my Melty days that the it takes a ton of people to actually fill out the ranks between 1-10 (hence I didn't even make a mention of post level 10 titles), but I'm just gonna roll with the punches and see what happens. The idea is to play, but also to have fun, so I don't want to force someone not to play for the sake of the system. In general, all we ever did was play normally, so I'm just trying to change it up.

Come out and show your strength as we head into SoCal Regionals, the final BBCS2 tournament of the year. Stream: www.twitch.tv/xiei Location Super Arcade 1211 N Grand Ave Walnut, CA 91789 Time Saturday 12/10 2PM-XPM This time around, if you are bringing a setup, please show up a little bit early so we can get set up by. Everyone else, please show up as you have at around 2pm. REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF It's at Super Arcade this time. When I see you, you better hand me $3 before sitting down to play or I will slap you. Super Arcade is a very nice venue so please be respectful to them and pay the venue fee. When attempting to go to my house, you MUST enter through the gate on South Street. If you attempt to enter my neighborhood via any other gate, you will make yourself sad as there is no guard there to let you in. Thus, whenever you're creating directions, MAKE SURE that your directions take you to the gate on South Street and not anywhere else. I can honestly not stress this enough. A good way to know that you're doing it right is that you are making a left or right on Alphington Ave. If this street does not appear anywhere in your directions you are probably doing it wrong. When you finally make it to the South Street Gate, the guard will ask you where you are going. Tell him my address and my name (James Xie) and you should be fine. Once you get in, follow the rest of your map and you should wind up my my house. Park somewhere on the street nearby. What to bring If you would like to bring a full setup (monitor, cables, console), please do and I will find a place to set it up. Other than that, bring whatever other equipment you need to play on a console, aka sticks, controllers, etc. However, if you show up with a hitbox or a pad, we'll be sure to constantly verbally abuse encourage you to eventually learn stick. Event Info What the fuck is a Danisen? Good question. The Danisen system is something that's gained popularity in fighting games over the years and is something they use to rank people outside of the standard ranbats. Basically, it's like playing for points. You fight your opponent as you normally would, and then you gain or lose points for winning or losing. There are associated levels and restrictions based on each level. Pretty simple. Dan System Starting out -Each time you win a match, you gain 1 point. Each time you lose a match, you lose 1 point. -Everyone begins at "Rank 1" ranking with zero points. -You cannot go below 0 points as a Rank 1 Leveling up -You can level up by reaching +3. Conversely, if you reach -3 in your ranking, you will level down. -Every time you level up or down, you start at +0 for that Rank. From there, you can once again move up or down as normally. -You can only play someone within 1 rank of yourself. For example, Rank 1 vs Rank 2 is fine, but not Rank 1 vs Rank 3. -If there are less than three people in the highest current level, you may not play at that level until there are at least three people. Try to focus on an alt if you make it to the very top.
