Anyone interested in playing Guilty Gear sometime next month with an out of practice weaboo nobody? I'm gonna have some extra funds, and am seriously considering paying out the ass to travel just for casuals. You know, because even bus tickets are incomprehensibly expensive these days. I will warn you however (should you wish to so much as contemplate tolerating my presence, let alone invite it) that despite my best efforts, I am terribly inept at socializing and will almost undoubtedly do something that pisses you off (probably multiple things though) simply because I haven't been given prior warning against it. I know how to take showers, that's about all I can promise. Takers? Suggestions? ...Flames?

I'm (most likely) going to be in Portland on Saturday, I'd totally be down for some Gear. In theory I could bring a setup but we'd need a place to play... and I'd need a ride from the convention center >.>

I know this isn't "my" forum (I'm a Johnny player, obviously, though Sol is one of my two alts) and I don't really have a solution to your problem, but I feel I must say that I greatly empathize with your situation, as it seems quite similar to my own current position. I absolutely love the game in general and I practice in some way, shape or form on a daily basis (mostly survival runs, but I'll quit and go into training mode if I feel it's necessary to iron out any execution inconsistencies I notice) but I am also suffering from an utter lack of local players to practice on, let alone genuinely compete against, and I know that grinding out fights with the AI is probably harmful to my overall game despite keeping my execution in shape... TL:DR I feel your pain. I'm in pretty much the same boat

I'll probably be playing in the MTG State Champs that day, but I'll drop from that in a heartbeat if there's Gear to be had (which it seems there will, so... yeah)

Hey, I be one of 'dem Gear players (I don't play BB, but I wouldn't mind scrubbing it up in SSF4 if need be) I happen be rolling in for a temporary visit to the area next week (I'll be available from Wednesday to Friday, maybe the following Sunday/Monday as well) and was wondering if you folks have any gatherings scheduled during that time, or if anyone would be interested in setting something up... who wants to play GG!

Thanks man. I really appreciate the thought, even if I don't believe in fate myself. I can only hope to sort out my own shit, so that there'll actually be a future for me, hopefully one in which I'll be better prepared to grasp opportunities like these. After all, I've made this mistake... no sense in not learning from it. ^_^

Okay, just confirming my no-show status here, as I couldn't get the money. I have the time, and desire nothing more than to travel and play Gear and all that, but I'm fucking poor. So unless there are folks among you feeling particularly generous in regards to funding, even if I was able to pay back any potential loans (it's not that I don't get money on the first, but I have no way to get the money to you guys) I doubt the 60-70$ I would need in order to go will just fall into my lap. This sucks. Edit: Wow, double fail. I never even checked the schedule (I am so angry with myself right now... I know I deserve it, but... FUCK) but despite this, what little shot in the dark opportunity I might have had vanished hours ago thanks to my stupid friends. I wanting nothing more than to go home and sleep about 3 fucking hours ago, but I "had nothing better to do", right? Naw, people don't sleep at night! Okay, so... I'm not really part of the Seattle scene (see my location) but I'm really interested in this none the less. GG does happen to be my favorite thing in the world, thus being able to travel and actually play it with people would be beyond awesome for me. I've been up to a couple meets, so I'd probably recognize faces, but obviously I'm not really on a first name basis with you guys... as of yet. I'm really close to the I-5 (obviously on the way) I have some moneyz, and more free time than I know what to do with, so I pretty much only have one question at the moment. Am I eligible?

So, I've never really played on a stick before (like really, I've never even played a fighting game at an arcade in my life) but I've been told they're better to use than pad and since getting better at GG is one of the few things I'm actually interested in doing in life, I figure I might as well get one. I was browsing ebay and found this. The shipping would amount my total to about $91.50, but... Does anyone know if this stick is worth the money? (What kind of parts was it made with, etc?)

To answer your question... it was because the KJ he FRC'd was from a transport. It's not quite the "fired out of a cannon" level of momentum he gets from FRCing the transport itself, but... yeah, some of it's still there. Btw, the combo against Eddie at the beginning of that video was like, 500% insanely awesome. It's kind of a tension waste, but still one of the coolest Johnny combos, if not THE coolest I've ever seen.
